When Windows 10s official support ended not so many days ago, some people wanted try linux.

But hackers were ahead of them.

They had put malware in Xubuntu distribution server.

https://www.iltalehti.fi/digiuutiset/a/7ed98838-90c8-4d3d-b696-5bc258e8cbc4

Cybercriminals put malware in English language Xubuntu distribution. But it was meant as a trap for dumb people.

>No malware in .ISO file which is probably constantly checked by moderators anyway.

>ISO file is also available as .torrent.

Anew folder appeared at ubuntu site. It specifically said "Windows 10 users should click here"

I had a Compaq dc7600 with this that couldn't play Halo 1. After infinite fucking with it I found out the Intel graphics on the motherboard were faster. The system had a pcie slot but I found out it did not have enough power for a graphics card (8400GS) and it's only use was for a funky riser card to use multiple displays. HP also cuntlocked the bios so you couldn't upgrade from the Pentium 4 even though it was made well into the core 2 era
>>
Bought a Thinkbook 14 G7 earlier this year.
Overall the laptop is amazing. Divine keyboard (aside from the Copidor button and non-working touchpad toggle in Arch), great specs, lightweight, and aluminium top with GOOD plastic bottom.
But.
It had a Ryzen APU, 45W, and the cooler just couldn't keep up with it. I literally had to manually throttle it down 700MHz just to keep it from exploding. Holy fuck, this is the first time in a long time that I wished I bought Intel instead (there was a Core Ultra 125U model, it didn't overheat at all). Ended up selling it for 60% of the price in September.

To be fair 775 was an absolute bastard socket.
Something like a 915 chipset meant you basically just traded a 478 socket for a 775 with no additional CPU support

I've got to have the only one left that works. Turion 64x2 and integrated AMD 4200 GPU. It's hilarious I'll put it on my laptop cooler and this shit will get down to 42*C while playing CS Source. I think it has 12gb RAM

>>107010321

I opened this one up to clean it because it was doing the same shit when I got it, I use it as a W7 test environment, was pretty straightfoward just drop all the screws on the bottom and the shit popped right off. had to drop the keyboard too but no big deal. I used to do laptop repair we had a DV6 come in every week for me to do CPR on so I'm kind of used to it lol

>dude Tailscale is like, what the internet was supposed to be
>connect to your self-hosted spotify clone and shake out the last bit of dependence from big tech, just sign up for a Tailscale account for SSO, that's all you have to do. No you can't use e-mail, you have to use a third-party account like a Google or Microsoft account.
Is self-hosting Headscale feasible?

just use headscale and leech off of tailscale's public DERP network. no accounts necessary.

the real benefit is that it eases NAT issues and such.

Headscale works fine. You can even set it up with your own self-hosted SSO provider if you want, but I don't bother since I only use tailscale for myself with a few devices.

Is the plateu a reasonable projection for AI? Even if it is getting 100x faster at making computer chips, that make it run 1000x faster, will it have any practical applications beyond being able to spit out a glue pizza recipe faster/using less energy? Ai doesn't have the sentient capacity for invention of actually new things. Physics seems keen on denying all the real world cool sci fi concepts like relativistic travel, intertidal/gravity dampers and laser swords.
>>
It does not understand concepts, it never will, it won't get any better than it is now, this tech has already plateaud
>>
You can't safetyslop a true AI.

Some autist will create AI God at home, not the industry.
>>
>>107013662
Perhaps, but will we ever get a true ai? Will the scope of our goals simply peter out to solving real world problems before that point?
>>
>there is no practical difference between an AI that can copy 99.9999% of Reddit posts and one that copy 99.99999999 of Reddit posts
Fuck I hate AI cultists so much. AI can be useful in so much as it's database contains useful references. No LLM has ever had a novel thought, or devised a new solution to a problem other than maybe trial and error.
