People to buy prebuilts come with Windows 11, if we consider the scenario that individual components have gotten price hikes but prebuilt PCs can be had at decent flash sales plus stacking coupons or cash back bonuses (Lenovo Legion, HP Omen from their online stores, etc).

There's that. On mobile I mostly browse here, mostly to read, and occasionally shitpost. It's not most of the web, but there's the captcha. I could get a dedicated app (dunno which is "the good one" as of today, though). Is it completely zero javascript or can I enable it if I need to open some site to login on some app or something?

Cromite has been on a "30.01.2025 last update" for quite a while now despite receiving regular updates.
If OP is supposed to be a browser, Cromite would also be my recommendation. It's not in the main F-Droid repo, though.

What is a good mail provider nowadays?
Every single one asks for phone number, secondary e-mail address or does something retarded like you can't register to any online service without provided either of the two (Proton), some don't even use imap/pop and you can't use them with a client. It's hell.

This. I recommend fastmail, been using them for years. They let you basically park static sites in addition to the mail functions, so I have several domains basically parked there.

If you're looking for something that doesn't cost money and respects your privacy, check disroot.
Their webmail is kinda mid, but it supports IMAP so you can use it on whatever client you want. They also host many privacy respecting services for free (like Bitwarden or privatebin).

They take like 2 days to verify your account, but after that it's all good. And they won't delete it for inactivity unlike Proton and Tuta.

If you want even more privacy and less spam, use a mail forwarding service like DuckDuckGo or Addy

If you don't care about privacy, outloook is aight and they don't ask for a phone number afaik.

Besides the non-free-firmware bundled in for hardware support Debian still explicitly separates non-free software and requires the user to manually opt in by adding the repos.
>but they shouldn't include hardware support or non-free repos at all
Yes I love converting people to my tech religion by telling them the first step is to replace their entire hardware stack and change their jobs to something that doesn't require specific software. I also love telling teenagers to ask their friends to record streamed zoom lessons on their phone so that they can listen in and don't have to directly interact with non-free software like a Hasidic Jew asking their neighbor to turn on the stove.

I need a modem to make small edits to images (remove X character, remove X stuff, etc etc). I'm looking for something local, something like nano banana maybe but good for local, that maintains art styles and usually gets the job done.
>>
>>108516922
Like anon above said, you could try flow.google, it offers 16 Nano Banana Pro gens per day and I have no idea how many Nano Banana 2 gens (I prefer to use NBP). Honestly, using a few secondary Jewgle accounts and Arena, I do quite well without paying a single cent. Arena for the completely safe stuff, Flow when Arena doesn't work or the prompt gets blocked by its filters. But I'm fairly sure that I get nowhere close to 100 gens per day nowadays, maybe around half that (and not every day).

Gemini actually used to be tamer with its filter, it refuses a lot of things since they implemented NB2. Flow is better, imo. But never mind its upscale feature, it's terrible. Other disadvantages are the limited ARs mentioned by the other anon (in Gemini, or Arena, you can specify whichever aspect ratio directly in the prompt) and subsampled JPEG outputs.
>>
>>108517472
i tried flow and it honestly really sucks. gemini image generation itself is really really good, but this flow site is kind of bad. it doesn't follow nearly as well and seems way more censored.

>>108517644
arena is fine. i can actually get results with it.
>>
>>108517735
> it doesn't follow nearly as well and seems way more censored.
Censored how, references? You can literally prompt "nude" or "naked" in flow and it gives results, as long as nipples and pubic area are instructed to get covered somehow (hands, tree branches, whatever).
>>
>>108517890
it literally just says it's against policy etc. it's literally just a guy laying in bed with a girl. no nudity or anything sexual occuring. annoying.

So these can't be turned off, right? why are they getting away with placing ads on your browser now?

Modern X86 CPUs regularly go (and can sustain) above 100C, while DDR5 has serious reliability issues around 60C. You can do low-price and low-power (relatively speaking) stuff on-package, but for high performance you'll want some space between components.
