Anything I should know about using a 24-to-8-pin adapter before I fry my (Dell Precision) motherboard? I'm using a used PSU, so I'm already playing with fire (literally speaking).

If any fellow poorfags have used such a jank setup, I'd appreciate a link to whatever adapter you used.
>>
>>107629309
if it can be done, no matter how narrow a use-case, you can probably do it in linux. it's part of what makes it fun to use
>>
I think I need a printer, but I don't really want one, I just think I do.
I don't really care about printing photos or color stuff but being able to print simple things without going to a store to get it printed seems worthwhile if I got a laser one that doesn't have ink dry up on me. Being able to print return labels and some documents seems nice.

How do laser prints hold up over time?
If I print something and laminate it, will the toner still fade like shitty receipts or are laser printers on paper different than store receipts?

If the prints won't last over time I'll probably consider the cheapest shit I can get, but if the prints will be suitable for long-term documents maybe I'll shop for something nicer.
>>
>>107630430
lasers are great for rarely printing with, since they'll sit their silently for years and work fine when you need it. i picked one up cheap in 2019, i reset the toner carts to make them appear full again and i print rarely enough that i'm still using those "nearly empty" carts
>If I print something and laminate it, will the toner still fade like shitty receipts or are laser printers on paper different than store receipts?
receipts are thermal prints, they use special paper which darkens when heated. laser printers are completely different and don't fade, laser printers put really simply melt toner (plastic and some other stuff) onto the paper

What is the deal with the Anti-AI derangement syndrome? I don't like to judge people, but the anti-AI seem to include an evenly distribution of furries, twitter "artists", people with funny hair color, and a poor understanding of economy.

it's still better than the insanity that is c++

Since Floens, Dickcheese and Ponyfucker are all dead, in this thread we worship Dimitri for being the only faggot still doing his job, but we also throw shit at him for his questionable design choices.
My 2 cents:
Catalog search does not filter, it's just Ctrl+F
You can sort bookmarks in the bookmarks menu but not in the bookmarks swipe tab
Scrollbar is ugly and thick
Pic attachment is not I'm the reply area but it's on the opposite side of the screen
In the bookmarks tab, what's the difference between "unbookmark" and "delete"?
You can't swipe bookmarks away to unbookmark

Pls fix

Depends how worn out they are. Fres ones might be okay for a few years at best but they only have a few hundred P/E cycles before the NAND is literally cooked. The real problem is they're barely cheaper than TLC SSDs which should be illegal desu.

I suppose that's just what you get when there's still way less competition than in the TLC market.

I was able to use your changes to get llama.cpp to compile but I still had issues with nvidia-580 driver seeing my gpu. I had to downgrade it to 570, downgrade the kernel and linux firmware, and THEN I was able to see a cuda0 device.
I'll keep it on life support for now until I find a more solid option, which could be running it on Vulkan desu if the 10xx series is abandoned. I guess this means I have an actual reason to get dual 3090s now and put my 1080ti in my jellyfin server.
Thanks for the math header patching idea anon.

A passive mixer is just a couple of resistors and potentiometers, it's always gonna significantly cut down on volume. I think the actual solution might be to get a better active mixer that boosts the final signal back up to line level.
I suppose you could also run the output from the work PC into one of the inputs of the interface and turn on monitoring for that when needed, eliminating the separate mixer entirely and letting the interface handle that instead, but then you're giving up one of its inputs permanently and you'll need to remember to turn down that channel any time you want to record something.

i thought about this and decided against it, I didn't really like the idea of having the work PCs audio passing through my personal PCs OS just in case I had to turn my personal PC off, or if my personal PC starts making noise like notifications or something, I can't quickly turn that source down without KVMing over. If I'm in a zoom call then switching the KVM also disconnects my mic/webcam lol

you got any recs for a decent active mixer?
