Could someone with virustotal premium download this file? It's called battlefield 4 checksum fixer and it isn't actually malware. It was used to edit the player config files (like increasing FOV or removing motion blur) for bf3 and bf4 on the ps3 the same way as it's done on the pc versions. It's relevant again because bf3 was recently revived on the ps3 after the official servers were shut down 2 years ago. There are no other working download sources for bf4 checksum fixer currently online.

we need a gpl v4/lgpl v4/agpl v4 with clauses on ai training
and a gpl v2.5 with the same but no tivoization clauses

any model trained on this code must only produce code licensed as GPL or a compatible copy left license

would solve corpo use of ai honestly
>>
>>107691230
AI already isn't permitted to redistribute code it's trained on without attribution. It's already violated.

XP looked and felt like it was made for grandmas.

Interesting to read ITT that there was criticism for it way back, because I only ever read people creaming over how good it was.

Gods, so many things were ugly before like 2006 (winamp, web forums, consumer electronics).

Installers are terrible. Each program ends up having to implement its own update mechanism which is absolutely retarded. Tons of people get malware trying to find the correct download button out of 20 fake ones when they download software. If you really want to download a package but not install it (like you would do on windows) then you can do that with pacman as well, but that's retarded. At work we have our own local network repository, so that's one realistic solution.

I just rate limited myself by using yay -Ps in a script. I had some fun arguing with grok about it. It told me that yay's documentation confirms that yay -Ps is a purely local operation.

>we single handedly won both world wars
Russia cutting a swathe from the east and forcing the Nazis to divide their forces was what won WW2.
The allies were largely stuck in their advance from the west and were only able to break through once Germany had to start diverting troops from the western front.

US military commanders royally fucked up several operations, squandering both men and resources, including the infamous operation Market Garden. The origins of which all boil down to internal squabbling between Patton and Eisenhower. Those are the reasons the allies weren't able to win any more ground over the Germans after they had begun pulling back and consolidating, until the Russians came in from the east.

Uhm..no. The graphical performance for example is almost entirely related to the GPU, which doesn't execute java programs.

In like the 5 years these things have been around I have only seen two foldable phones. One fold and one flip. Both people told me they thought it was cool but wouldn't buy another one. Surely there has to be a market for these things if they're dumping millions into marketing and R&D for them?

Reminder of the following:

1. Google will merge ChromeOS and Android to form a FOSS Linux-based desktop OS that will be 100% free to download and use.

https://www.androidauthority.com/aluminium-os-android-for-pcs-3619092/

2. Windows will be severely affected by this new, totally free competitor and will bleed marketshare.

3. All existing Linux desktop environments will be totally outclassed by Google's top secret desktop UI and underlying OS. Even Linux users will give up on shit like Mint and just use Google's desktop for their daily driver OS.

2026 will finally be the year of the Linux desktop, and it will be because Google will do to desktops what they did to phones.

You know it's coming. Don't act like this was a surprise.

>Why deal with Windows when you can run Google desktop for free?
I'll put my money on most don't actually pay for winhoes.
And you don't use the screwgle desktop for free. You just don't pay in money. There's a big difference. Just like there's a big difference in between having a computer, and having an account on someone elses computer. If you don't control it, then it's not your computer.

>android phone and it works really well
Maybe because the manufacturer spent a lot of time creating the version of android it's running tailored to that specific hardware?
Not all are equal.
Equally, this level of customisation is what kills the custom ROM scene - there is no one size fits all - and ultimately why they tend to feature a short life-cycle with regards to updates...

What the fuck? I just bought some stuff from the bundle deal, the checkout page says it was about £15 (vat included) but then actually charged me about £19! The only explanation I can think of is that the checkout page was lying about VAT being included, but that's super bullshit.

>The development comes a little over a year after the tech giant [Google] disclosed that its transition to Rust led to a decline in memory safety vulnerabilities from 223 in 2019 to less than 50 in 2024.

>The company pointed out that Rust code requires fewer revisions, necessitating about 20% fewer revisions than their C++ counterparts, and has contributed to a decreased rollback rate, thereby improving overall development throughput.

>We adopted Rust for its security and are seeing a 1000x reduction in memory safety vulnerability density compared to Android's C and C++ code. But the biggest surprise was Rust's impact on software delivery," Google's Jeff Vander Stoep said. "With Rust changes having a 4x lower rollback rate and spending 25% less time in code review, the safer path is now also the faster one

>With roughly 5 million lines of Rust in the Android platform and one potential memory safety vulnerability found (and fixed pre-release), our estimated vulnerability density for Rust is 0.2 vuln per 1 million lines (MLOC).

>Our historical data for C and C++ shows a density of closer to 1,000 memory safety vulnerabilities per MLOC. Our Rust code is currently tracking at a density orders of magnitude lower: a more than 1000x reduction.

Sounds like a logical conclusion to me
I would still do a quick check just to be sure it's not paste/pads that went bad super fast or a flaw with the heatsink or something though. That difference in core/hot spot is kind of sketchy, is stock vega 64 tier shit (bad)

You can see .dmg files as a remnant of how floppy disks worked. Back in the day you'd mount a floppy disk and either run the software from it, or drag it to your machine and then unmount it.
The installers are entirely different, usually they require some extra configurations being set system wide or a specific driver to be added, if you use an installer you will not have to drag anything.
