That's the setup I use to listen to DSD vinyl rips. T50RP is a $50 shitcans gem btw. HE-R9 is also $50 shitcans kino.
The $50 shitcans you can get used on head-fi for sale and ebay:
ESP-950
HE-R9
T50RP
SR-Lambda NB
SR-Lambda Signature
SR-007Mk1
HD 280 Pro
HE6
HD 700

You should give $50 shitcans a shot.

Why are these things still made and used? Most phones don't include a slot for them, and they're the only device small (if modern phones can even be called that) enough to justify using them over a full size card. I know the Switch and Steam Deck use them, but those are also big enough that they surely could've made them with full-size cards in mind

>The development comes a little over a year after the tech giant [Google] disclosed that its transition to Rust led to a decline in memory safety vulnerabilities from 223 in 2019 to less than 50 in 2024.

>The company pointed out that Rust code requires fewer revisions, necessitating about 20% fewer revisions than their C++ counterparts, and has contributed to a decreased rollback rate, thereby improving overall development throughput.

>We adopted Rust for its security and are seeing a 1000x reduction in memory safety vulnerability density compared to Android's C and C++ code. But the biggest surprise was Rust's impact on software delivery," Google's Jeff Vander Stoep said. "With Rust changes having a 4x lower rollback rate and spending 25% less time in code review, the safer path is now also the faster one

>With roughly 5 million lines of Rust in the Android platform and one potential memory safety vulnerability found (and fixed pre-release), our estimated vulnerability density for Rust is 0.2 vuln per 1 million lines (MLOC).

>Our historical data for C and C++ shows a density of closer to 1,000 memory safety vulnerabilities per MLOC. Our Rust code is currently tracking at a density orders of magnitude lower: a more than 1000x reduction.

Send it back and request a real T480 or sue for false advertising.
The T480s is not a premium version of the T480, its a smaller, less capable version that is handed out to middle management (cucked morons).
>Engineers and Programmers get P or T
>Upper management gets X
>C Suite gets iPhones
>Middle management gets scraps
You also have only a single RAM slot, the chips for the secondary channel are soldered onto the mainboard, if they fail your entire laptop becomes a craptop.

damn :(
I was actually going to send it back until I realised both T480 and T480s are 14 inch screens which is what I care about most in terms of size. I guess T480 is a fatter laptop overall which makes it sturdier and easier to fix/upgrade? I don't have soldered RAM, confirmed with dmidecode.
>>
>>107710968
>I guess T480 is a fatter laptop overall which makes it sturdier and easier to fix/upgrade?
Correct, but not by much
>I don't have soldered RAM, confirmed with dmidecode.
You CANNOT determine that with dmidecode. If it is a T480s, it HAS soldered RAM
>>
>>107710968
>which makes it sturdier
Nope, I have both a T480 and T480s and the s is much less flexy even though it's thinner.
>and easier to fix/upgrade
Mostly. Apart from the second RAM slot the T480 can take bigger batteries. Replacement keyboards are easier to source for T480s.
>I don't have soldered RAM
Like the other poster said, you do. If it fails, you can disable it, but only by unsoldering some jumpers or flashing a modded BIOS externally.
