Glad you liked it. It also stuck with me for years after I read it and made me reevaluate how I see myself in relation to others. I have a feeling that there’s something universally relatable to in that story, and I suspect others would be able to see aspects of themselves in the main character as well. We all use other’s impressions of ourselves to help us define who we are. We all manipulate others to a certain extent. It can be terrifying to admit we define ourselves in part with false impressions we’ve given to others! I think the only way to move past that is to acknowledge and accept it while cultivating a concept of self less reliant on these impressions. Having several ego death experiences on acid and learning about attachments in relation to anatta were particularly helpful in this regard. It’s not something I feel dread around anymore though. Hope you enjoy finishing Infinite Jest! Maybe look into “I Am a Strange Loop” by Douglas Hofstadter next.

i have had good results from buying "damaged" water coolers and just taking the fans, they are usually completely unused and the radiators were just damaged in shipping. sometimes it's just completely cosmetic and you can get a full AIO water cooler for peanuts.

I can't figure out what makes ThinkPad fans work different between Linux and Windows. On Windows 11 my P16s seems to turn them off under no load which is not the case on any distribution I've tested so far. Am I missing a driver or something? Are they supposed to be controlled from user space (can't see any fan curves in the BIOS)?

I'm eyeing another T480 i7, but the cost of the RAM upgrade I always do on them (2x 32GB DDR4 SODIMM) is now double the cost of the machine itself.

How does Google track my Youtube watch history across devices that aren't signed in, have never been on the same network, or have never been within a mile of each other?

At home, I have my "bed phone", an old no-sim android with 99% of features disabled used almost exclusively to fall asleep listening to YT videos using Brave. The device never leaves home and has never signed into YT.
My daily driver phone is on graphene with everything disabled, including mobile data, used exclusively for phone calls. paid VPN turned on 24/7 just in case.

Often I'll visit a friend and watch Youtube on TV through their Roku box using the guest account. The types of videos I watch at their house are completely different topics than what I watch at home. I have never connected my phone to their network.
When I go home, the videos I watched on my friend's Roku guest account will immediately start showing up on my no-sim, home-only, signed-out phone. What the fuck?
I also have a general use hardwired linux box at home, 24/7 vpn+different privacy browser, only rarely watch maybe 1-2 YT vids a week about a specialty topic. Those videos will also start showing up in the algorithm on my no-sim home phone.

Placed the Server into Docker. Now any game runs lag free.

Will test it on Chronicon for a while, but even after 50k actions the AI dumb. Maybe you have to set it to a certain stage so it understands but even with starting areas it struggles hard.

Anyone had success yet with completing entire game or successfully doing tasks?
