Pros:
>Strong sandboxing/isolation improves security.
>Widely supported across major distros (especially Fedora, GNOME-based distros).
>Uses Portals apps can request access to files, devices, etc. in a controlled way.
>Good integration with desktop environments.
>Flathub is a central, well-maintained app store with lots of apps.
>Auto-updates supported.

Cons:
>Flatseal has the potential to change the permissions of other flatpaks at will. Essentially, a flatpak with the ability to change the permissions of other flatpaks. It is rendered to be "Potentially Unsafe" with "Arbitrary Permissions" with access to "User Data" subfolder flatpak/overrides, Can read and write all data in the directory" and "Arbitrary Permissions, Can acquire arbitrary permissions".
>Larger disk space usage (apps bundle runtimes + libraries).
>Slower startup compared to native apps (sandbox overhead).
>Strong desktop focus not ideal for CLI/server software.
>Relies heavily on Flathub (centralization concern).

NTA but what's the problem? You need an LLC to handle money either from payment to proprietary software (and get your share) or donations to OSS (probably also get your share). You can't do that using the name of a non-profit and this doesn't affect flatpak (just use another repo).

Why is there no program where me and my friend have the same program installed and I type in his IP address and can send infinite amount of files to him directly and encrypted?

Why does everything need to be uploaded to some shit server first? Is there no open protocol like that? No I'm not talking about bittorrent.

It's now it's supposed to be. The software is built to have a purpose, I don't waste my time and effort in meaningless things like graphical appeal. If I want to write a graphical application, I will do so, but wont write it in electron or other web crap, because it's just a waste of CPU cycles and bonus, GTK3 will always compile just fine, or SDL for that matter. Electron works today, tomorrow it fails to initialize if I swap the optimus mode on my GPU/ iGPU. Just sad..

Don't buy anything OTHER THAN IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad T, X, and W/P Series if you want the Real Business Experience™
>Other business laptops are welcome in /tpg/ (Dell Latitude/Precision, HP EliteBook/ZBook)

Why ThinkPad?
>Used machines are plentiful and cheap
>Excellent keyboards, tactile feel and quiet + the TrackPoint
>Great durability: magnesium roll cage for structural integrity, with high quality plastic body panels
>Utilitarian design: e.g. indicator LEDs, 7 row keyboard layout on older models
>Docking stations that easily turns your laptop into a desktop
>Easy to repair (most models), upgrade & maintain thanks to readily available service manuals for every model, spare parts easy & cheap to obtain
>Excellent Linux & *BSD support

Yes actually if they were bad they wouldn't sell them I was just looking online one day and figured out every tv sold has a 50Hz display.
I bought myself a monitor instead, 100hz because that is the cheapest I could find.
>>
>>106500232
????
The Mega Drive (which Sonic was on) couldn't output PAL60, so the question is completely the right one to ask. For the record, the Dreamcast was the first PAL console with support for 60Hz output.

Aw. I'd have thought you could set it to use DOS interrupts for disk access and that'd work. You'd have to ironically turn off "32 bit disk access" I'd guess tho. FreeDOS has drivers for USB sticks doesn't it?

Why are luddoids still having a melty over chatbots? We've had GPT for three years and nothing has changed. It's just a useful tool sometimes, but lefty luddoids act like it's going to detect them grooming kids and exterminate them.
