There we go.
Honestly surprised about the "keyboard automatically disables if the remote side is face up" part.
Does that mean the backlight also respects that or do you end up with a glowing flashlight whenever your try to use it at night?
>The only drawback for me is it takes AAAs
Better than being rechargable but only taking micro-USB I'd say.
>>106993723
That was uncalled for. Remember to attach your pictures next time.
>>

>Does that mean the backlight also respects that
It does actually
I do have one other qualm about the back light though, it only turns on when you press a button. Maybe I'm just spoiled by my Shield remote which turns on from the accelerometer when you pick it up.

Saw similar listings to these a few weeks before, going for about 290 USD with shipping for the 8945HS ES variants.
Seems like they raised the price since, and even sold out on other pages: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005009930479584.html

.chm (compiled html) is the best readable file format

I made a thread about this before and everyone went full stockholm syndrome and tried to defend .epub even though that is a shit format that turns every book layout into something that is worse than the typewriter.

.chm is lightweight, supports links, the layout is zoomable and changes layout when you resize it. Its an extremely light weight format, very rare for it to go over 3mb

how would this work without a central server?
for real
for the normies
do you have to have an always on PC that is managing the bed?
do you need to have a managed router?
does the bed need its own embedded PC that needs to be configured to your home ISP equipment so you could use a phone app to operate it?
does the bed only work when it can connect to your phone via BT?
What of you are using a BT speaker on your phone, does that mean you cant use your bed?
should the bed maker include a single use tablet like device?
should the bed go back to using a physical control panel that is a PITA to program and use?

srsly, what is the alternative solution for normies who cant be bothered with any of that?

I'd replace the batteries asap. Make sure you get the dimensions right and choose a LiFePO4 equivalent with HMS protection (HMS protection is incredibly important and makes it a compatible replacement for UPS systems).

LiFePO4 batteries will be both lighter, last longer, and usually have more amps (longer runtime)

>using it for my n150 mini pc, router and modem, possibly a rpi4
>should be able to last an hour or so, i think.
If you make my suggested replacement I'd guess it would last at least an hour and 45 minutes. My UPS had 4x 12v 7amp SLA batteries and I replaced them with 4x 12v 10amp LiFePO4 w/ HMS batteries.

My UPS keeps my firewall/router, modem, 3 tiny 8 port switches, a bananapi r3 mini, a dell optiplex mico (i7-7700T cpu), my wifi AP, Security NVR, Eufy security appliance, and a PoE injector powering 4 PoE IP cams operational for 3 hours on critical failure. This 'Critical Load' is 1.24 A / 110 W / 150 VA
You are powering much less with a smaller UPS but I think you'll be incredibly satisfied with your operational time on battery

Is dns over https something I should give a shit about in a home server?
currently collides with my reverse proxy ports so would need to buy separate device for adguard
>>
>>106994197
set up DNS filtering and use a DNSoH upstream resolver. then redirect all DNS queries on your network forcibly to your local filtered DNS resolver with iptables.
>>
>>106994372
so am I supposed to expose adguard with 53, set upstream to something like https://dns.quad9.net/dns-query , assign dns ip via router and thats it?

How the hell did people learn to code before AI? Did they actually read all the documentation or what the fuck? Getting info for something specific you need in a project is a pain without reading all the docs for every tool you use.

Welcome to the 4chan /g/ Usenet General Thread!

>What is /usenet/?
Open standard protocols still exist and are what the internet was built on (http, irc, rss, ftp, etc). Not owned by corpos, not under govt control, and are accessible to anyone with an internet connection. They simply exist to be built upon and enjoyed by all.
Some, like FTP are outdated and insecure. Others, like rss, irc, http, usenet are still glorious and wonderful open standards. Join us and discuss such topics on one such protocol:
NNTP, aka usenet.

>WTF IS USENET
Literally it means the Users Network. It’s an open protocol for posting and reading messages, organized by newsgroups. It's entirely decentralized, no single server, impossible to take down.
Today it is split between, binaries and text. The binaries part is what it’s known for today: piracy. The text part is forgotten and abandoned, until now.

>WHY POST ON USENET
It's open protocol, you can use any client you want or build you own. No costs, no subscriptions, no money. You can sign up through your ISP, or through eternal-september.org. Then you just need to install a client.
