are there any multimodal models that run in llamacpp that are better than qwen2.5 72B?
>>
Ok, I think I figured out my workflow. I'm going to run Gemma 3 27B using Llama-factory.
I am going to run my assistant through an OAI API compatible proxy connected to Gemma that'll log all messages to disk in sharegpt format. I am going to interact normally with the model through the assistant until filling the context window I'm able to fit on the 4x3090 machine (~40k tokens).
Then, I'm going to open the log on a text editor and remove the parts where the model did a whoopsie and clean it up in general.
Then I'm going to train on that cleaned up version of the log.
And so on ad infinitum to see how much I can improve the model in a reasonable amount of time.
If this works I will see about scaling up to a bigger model.

skills, check'm
>>
>>106999324
what? no they don't. I'm getting thinking on ST from the coding endpoint right now
also it's an open weight model so blocking reasoning makes zero sense anyway. anyone can just the model themselves and distill to their heart's content
>>
>>106999182
almost certainly bullshit
dario has been whimpering about china and begging for their models to be banned since R1 came out, it's not like he just started
also if they had proof of this, why wouldn't they name and shame? you know, like when anthropic caught openai distilling claude and made a big show of blocking them over it

What do you think about using this for video conferencing?

>>
a shotgun mic would be a better option
>>
>>106998631
>video conferencing
>dynamic mic
Not needed since all the major services have decent noise cancelling. A cheaper condenser mic like the MV5 or an Elgato Wave Neo can have good quality without requiring the mic be placed half an inch from your mouth, and therefor in the video. Which puts you into podcast larper territory, as anon already mentioned.
>>
>>106998631

Been using the embedded mic on this, and it works great for conferences and vydia chat. It comes with a camera, too, btw.
>>
>>106999319
There's so many solutions for capturing voice like that. Having a mic in the shot is amateur.

simplix is Ukrianian troonware (just visit simplix.info and it will become immediately obvious)
I used to use it for integrating usb and nvme drivers into the ISO, but I stopped recently because all the useless updoots it adds along the way bloat up the install.
All you need is Service Pack 1 + SHA2 update (KB4474419) + Platform update (KB2670838) + D3DCompiler update (KB4019990) + DllDirectory update (KB2533623). I've found that all the other updates are basically unnecessary, and if you install all of them then you'll probably accidentally install the telemetry updates as well. And then if you accidentally install the telemetry update you need to go into Services and disable "Diagnostic Tracking Service". I'd rather not have it installed in the first place.

I got windows 7 running in a qube. It seems to be running properly it's just that using it fucking sucks because nothing works. It won't even let me install Tor browser because it says it doesn't work with Windows 7. I'm already pissed off and fed up with this compatibility nightmare. Imagine using this outdated crap to connect to the internet, let alone store your crypto keys, passwords, and other sensitive files... do you guys really?

I'm sure there's a way to get it to work, it just requires a lot of bullshit and tinkering I imagine

webp only supporting 1 type of chrome downsampling is the reason why it will always remain the designated shitting format.
It is a shame about the lossless version, which is probably the best lossless format we have. AVIF is huge step back on that front.
>>
>>107000388
To be fair this is gradually becoming more of a boomer talking point because chroma sub sampling artefacts are harder to identify in high density displays like those found in modern day laptops/tablets/phones.
>>
>>106996328
they support webm which for all intents and pruposes is a "colleciton" of webp. each frame is rendered using vp8/vp9 and a webp is rendered with the same codec. so each frame in a webm is rendered in the same way a webp is. make it make sense.
>>
>>106996357
Why? That's literally the reason why people who frequently use this website hate this format
>>
>>107000447
It is irrelevant if you consider cacheslop quality to be webp's only objective -- which it is.
But yeah, it will also never be popular because nothing supports it. Also generation loss in webp is abysmal.

I never think about stuff like that, I have a real synthesizer or two. I hate monkeying around with software. I do enjoy sampling chopping with Audacity over doing it on my samplers though. But for me the computer is an adjunct and I forget DAWs don't really include the full breadth and depth of synthesis you get out of the real deal. All that stuff is meant to cost extra, for the computer musician.

Will a battery I buy today but not use for 3+ years still have the same charging capacity? If I just want to have an extra as a backup
>>
>>106998461
Yes and no. If you have enough discipline to charge it back to ~60% every couple of months it'll probably lose almost no capacity.
If you let it drain completely and it will drain since bms uses tiny bit of energy which adds up over months it will definitely lose mensurable amount of capacity.

I bought KingSener for my x230t a few years back and it's been working great. With the tariffs and word of UPS destroying packages, I'd like to avoid buying from outside the US right now
I see there's some no-name chink batteries on ebay being sold for my Dell Precision M6800. My current battery is dead and the laptop dies every time it gets unplugged by accident. Are the chink batteries worth the ~$20 for at least a few minutes of run time so I can move my laptop without it dying?

Bluetooth headphones?
If so, the lowest quality codec is selected for some reason.
Use Pulseaudio or re-pair them from scratch.

My sister turned on her Windows 11 laptop that she bought a month ago and I got flashbacks to picrel.
>packed full of update and security messages
>advertising popups from autostarting bloatware programs
>premium upgrade popups for Mcafee antivirus
>sketchy preinstalled games and 'content recommendations'
>random news notifications and algorithmic content feeds plastered on the taskbar

>obnoxious animated buttons to 'Try AI now!' on every screen
>copilot buttons in every app
>5 different preinstalled AI services uploading god knows what data in the background
>fan spinning up and cpu throttling with no programs open
>onedrive, dropbox, icloud, creative cloud and AI services all trying to sync her personal files at the same time and generating a ton of notifications
She didn't see any problem until I told her that her photos were probably used to train AI. It felt like looking at a news website without adblock. How do normies live like this?
