Why are most modern websites bloated, nearly unusable trash? Some news sites, which should be fairly simple text oriented sites, won't even work without loading JS
>>
If we're being honest, it has been this way since the mid 2000s. Never forget the monstrosities that flash embedding gave us.
>>
Javascript frameworks. They get larger and larger and larger every year. Some jeet googles "How to add a button" and then they import like 5 different 4MB libraries just for a button.
>>
>>107589328
Because modern devs are trash. It's not just the websites. They aren't even saving any time with frameworks, they just use what's currently trendy.

Meanwhile, I did the opposite by getting rid of partitions entirely and giving the raw disk to the filesystem, so I can have easy snapshots/backups of the entire thing. My bootloader is on a USB key and is fully portable and easily replaceable. Chroot is not an issue because the bootloader itself supports it.
>>
how do i set up zfs with lz4? is it hard?
>>
>>107589551
Pipewire already does that by itself, it's literally designed to do that. Programs that depend on pulseaudio work just fine on pipewire because they get routed through pipewire.
>>
>>107589556
Boot loader on a USB is an interesting option but I prefer to not depend on external hardware. If this poor thing had space for more than one HDD I would have put boot and probably some other stuff on a separate one.
>>
>>107589510
So you're using llama.cpp and ComfyUI with no GPU acceleration?
That's indeed a memory issue then. Make sure you have enough RAM for what you're doing and have Swap properly configured.

Why is it that every piece of GNOME software ever produced. Is utter dogshit?

I love how simple and comfy GNOME is, it feels like therapy for the brain compared to all the other complex bloated option trap software like Windows, macOS, OneUI, iOS. It's just a shame that no software/hardware supports linux. But if one day linux were to be supported I'd switch to GNOME in a heartbeat, it's genuinely the best DE in the world.

For the past two weeks my messages on live streams wont show in top comments of youtube streams, they only show in live comments, and they tend not to be restreamed into the live stream video feed when the streamer has something like that set up. I can't seem to find any answers to this either googling or searching youtube videos. I never even use curse words, so I don't suspect I've been shadow banned. I reckon this is some kind of bug or glitch that can happen, and only clearing the cache might resolve it. I remember the captcha breaking on 4chan a year ago, and fixing it involved deleting cookies and cache. Have you experienced anything similar?

that's probably just in HDR mode displaying HDR content. It'll get nowhere near that bright in anything else, in fact it'll be programmed in the firmware to never get anywhere close to that bright with any other content. Even then that HDR Peak Brightness will only cover a fraction of a fraction of the actual panel.

I hate the Windows buttons myself, I don't use either of them nearly enough to justify having them in such important spots, and the start menu itself is nowhere near as useful as it used to be. I just got a new keyboard, but once that one stops working I'm gonna get one of these, just so I don't have to deal with fat fingering them while I'm typing shit.
