So what do you think about tech like this with the future of RAM prices? Should I buy one now before they get worse? I have an old pi 3 or 4 for projects (about to put into a Bulky MT-32) and I don't exactly need one right now but I would hate to need one in the future and it's fucking $300 or some bullshit when I can get one now for like $125.
>>107587357The answer is still the same as always, do you plan on using the gpio pins or have a specific project in mind? If no then a mini pc is still the better purchase
>>107587370How is it retarded? I did the same thing earlier this year and upgraded my PC in February (instead of waiting til October) and I saved like literally $1000. It's not fomo, it's being prepared for future use cases. It's like storing sugar, salt, flour, spices and shit in your cupboard even if you're not baking right at that moment.
>>107587378? This is literally the first thread I've posted on this topic.>>107587380I don't know, but I don't ever have a need for a mini pc. If anything I'd put it into another cyberdeck project if I can finish the design I've been working on.
>>107587357I kept hearing they were hard to get about a year and a half ago, a few months ago I got one for MSRP.
>>107587445Yeah that's part of why I held off at first and now I see they are in stock and I saw prices are already going up and figure it will probably go up more.

>>107586125That sounds unlikely to be an account-specific issue, albeit it doesn't hurt to try, probably the prompt got flagged together with that picture? lmarena can be quite strict in bizarre ways, sometimes just changing stuff like "embracing" into "hugging" can work, but other times I have no real idea what their filter is even looking for and I'd rather prompt stuff directly in the model's official service or in another third party one.

>>107586759Why would I encode images as VP9 when I can do this?
Sorry I forgot to post this after my thread but picrel are AVIF HW decode limits. It's currently only present in phones/tablets that came with Android 15, everything else seems to be limited to decoding a max resolution of 1920x1080 sadly. Tiling will extend the max resolution further but there isn't an automatic grid derivation option in avifenc yet and image viewers probably can't properly decode high-res tiled AVIF images yet anyway.Beside effectively being capped to ~9 megapixel images AVIF HW can only handle 4:2:0 at 8 or 10 bit color precision. The good news is that the --sharpyuv avifenc setting seems to be working incredibly well for some images. So much that I'm able to achieve visually lossless quality similar to a quality 95 4:4:4 JPG. It doesn't work on all images but when it does it's wild since 75% of all color information is missing yet somehow AVIF is able to regenerate it to the point where you can't even notice...>>107587417Because 4chan does not support APNG yet lol. It's not a static image webm like my webp2 thread, it's an actual microsoft powerpoint slideshow, just wait man...
>>107586943AVIF is good for anime images but JXL is better for photos
Also here is the image I'm currently testing with.>>107587437This was true before the high IQ tune. Now AVIF is ~90% as good as JXL in photographic images. I'll post a comparison of that in an hour or so, look forward to that.
