Theme: Outer Space Music
Title: [Accepting suggestions]
Deadline: 7th of January [revised from late December]

>/g/ makes a 19th album
Theme: [Accepting suggestions]

>Song submission rules/guidelines
Upload the file somewhere, preferably in a lossless format, and post the link here. If you want to update your track, make a new post.
Include the song title in the post, and make it clear that your song is a submission for the album.
Optionally you may include cover art for your track, but please confirm that the image in your post is the cover art or it won't be included. You may not use your real artist name.
Songs that contain anything against YouTube's policies won't be uploaded on YT, but will still be added to the album.
By default, tracks will be normalised to -14 LUFS (integrated loudness) in the release. You may specify a lower loudness for your track.
Use of AI is banned. This includes AI generated stems, samples, and effects. "AI" includes all neural network-based models and not hard-coded automation/procedural generation. You are allowed to ask an LLM about music-related questions, but asking it to give you musical ideas (eg. generating a chord progression) is already a no-no.

Push the fringe-edge limit of your production center. You’re coloring within the lines. The first transition was completely random. Hone the phrasing instead of varying it. You need to distill melody, not randomly flail around various poles. Get your drums off the grid. Sounds like an SPC file.

Its funny because I actually met some competent indians at a few companies. Assuming they stood out because of this.
So many that didn't know shit about their job or really anything and you would normally wonder why/how they got employed while you get put through the third degree on interviews.

I haven't worked in three years because of a traumatic brain injury. My goal is to make every single one of you faggots as unemployable as I am.

I am working on automating vibe coding and vibe debugging. I've done both things a great deal myself, so I know exactly how to automate them. You can also automate basic app creation....sort of. Basically you give the AI agent an app idea and keep saying "yes" on a loop whenever it offers to add another feature. Run the script and after, I dunno, a hundred iterations, you'll have something pretty good. Try a thousand if you feel like spending, I dunno...an extra 50 cents? API calls are like a fraction of a penny, especially if you're using one of the older models.

Lack of seed variance is a new/big model issue, we never had this problem with 1.5 or SDXL. You get the same thing with Qwen Image and I've heard similar complaints about ChatGPT. Seems like as models get bigger, they get more deterministic. You could also say that these models are just better at understanding your prompt and if you want something different you should change your prompt.
>>
>>107590390
>Lack of seed variance is a new/big model issue
I thought in case of zit lack of seed variance is caused by distillation?
>>
>illu/noob for base sprites and CGs
>qwen edit for character-consistent expression/pose/outfit variations
>Z for BGs
>Gemini for RenPy assistance
Finally I will make my VN. Just wish local models could handle transparency because rembg is hit and miss.
>>
>>107590409
Yeah that makes it worse, but every model bigger than SDXL seems to have this issue to some extent. Feels intuitive to me that there's an inverse relationship between prompt adherence and seed variation.
>>
>>107590453
>Feels intuitive to me that there's an inverse relationship between prompt adherence and seed variation
Well it doesn't to me
If you prompt just "1girl, smile" there's a billion ways to make the output adhere to the prompt without all seeds getting stuck on the same pose and composition. I'm no ml expert but to me it seems that very poor seed variance indicates some errors in training (or distillation/quantization)

nobody but you suffer when you decide that you do not want to use something.
you just isolate yourself from everyone else and whine that you are uncomfy because of your own stupidity.

this is how people get old btw.
why they say that in their time something something.
in some time people from their generation die out and they find themselves to be a strangers in a world that they separated themselves from.

you're right that it's not productive (this is similar to what dostoevsky was talking about in notes from the underground), but it's also not productive to entirely ignore those voices

ignoring those people for generations is why young people are so cynical and skeptical these days. the dissatisfaction isn't arbitrary, it's wise to at least not be blindsided by it when it comes to a head

i just dumped my opnsense installation and set up arch linux with dnsmasq (DNS and DHCP) and nftables.

im pretty excited about it. i was tired of the menus and bloat and gimped BSD ecosystem of opnsense.

anyone have anything they'd recommend to further look into with this freedom (yet responsibility)? or any gotchas or tips for better/easier administration?
>>
>>107590254
>for better/easier administration?
If you want better/easier administration, your mistake was dumping opnsense for arch
How was this gimped BSD ecosystem impacting your router/firewall "experience"?
>>
>>107586990
I'm a Britbong. Every house has thick brick walls here.
Fibre runs through ducts/conduit up to the exterior wall, then a short run to a splice box fixed to the wall. More fibre then comes out of the box and through the wall at ground floor level, with the hole hidden behind the splice box if possible.
Ideally it goes straight into the ONT on the same wall like picrel, and the router is placed right next to it. Often works well enough.
But if that would leave the router in a ridiculous place then the engineer will (or at least should) do whatever is necessary to allow it to be placed somewhere reasonable. Often that means a short interior run of thin subtle fibre. Sometimes it means running cable up the outside of the wall and drilling through an upper floor instead of ground level.

In practice not all of our engineers are highly skilled and the overall quality of installs varies. But I don't think even the worst of them would just run the fibre into your basement and call it a day. Admittedly basements aren't that common here anyway.

Macbro here. I'm bicurious when it comes to computers, which means I have two linux VMs installed. Arch and fedora. I try to do as much as I can from my bash terminal, but I still prefer fedora because it just looks nicer. Arch looks like it comes from a time when my dad was still sorting punch cards in grad school.

I don't really see the point of linux, though. I'm way more used to macOS, so I just know where all my shit is. The programs are a lot nicer too- iMovie and GarageBand are the shit. And linux doesn't have anything like that.

I've always gotten the feeling that linux is mostly popular with people who aren't nearly as good with computers as they think they are, and my time using linux hasn't changed that. Also, the average linux user doesn't have enough self awareness to realize how unbearably fucking cringe they are all the time.
