I didn't know about typecase and friends until you mentioned it. My desire for checking the type is for correctness rather than speed, so I decided to try to manually do it.

Why can't we accept that IPv6 is a dumpster fire and leave it in the trash where it belongs

You forgot that at least a /64 given to each home router, with the intention being that each home customer should get a /56 and each business customer should get a /48. It at least cuts the amount of maximum IPv6 addresses that the ISP can give out in half, provided that each user lives alone and doesn't share his router with anyone else

A firewall will drop incoming traffic by default. You have to be pretty stupid to disable the already setup firewall rules in your network appliances.

>>108505538
The only way is to have an external middleman service running outside NAT, you need a VPN or similar technologies like Tailscale.

>>108505581
>In IPV6 setting up an internet connected service is as simple as finding the IP on the device and opening the necessary ports.
You don't «open ports» in IPv6, those are already open. You change firewall rules so that incoming traffic is not dropped.

>The greatest tech mistake was not forcibly sunsetting IPV4 and forcing people with IPV6
NAT came years before IPv6, and was adopted immediately by every network. That is the only reason why the transition to v6 is so slow.

Looks promising. A model that shits itself 80% of the time but does so in real-time is better than one that doesn’t do exactly what I want 10% of the time but takes a fucking 20 seconds to render. As long as it supports inpainting, of course

Bypass is available for all denuvo games on day 0

Irdeto is seething hard and saying more invasive DRM is coming. I'm guessing they will demand kernel level access in later versions of Denuvo.

Looking to get a new monitor this year, not in a rush though. Located in Canada, partly used for gaming, watching media, and video editing, I do all my editing in 1080p though. Currently own 2 lg ultragears, 144hz 1440p ips, 27” and 32” respectively. Don’t want/need 4k, curved, or excessively high refresh rate, perfectly happy with 144hz desu. I was recommended a Samsung G50SF but would prefer it in 32” but couldn’t find anything like that locally.
Open to other ideas, or if the g5 is the play just deal with a smaller screen I guess.

>>
>>108507183
You really don't have to exaggerate it that far. It is still a factor that when you're poor you are going to have to spend a lot more time and effort on whether to take an off-brand value grabdeal over a more mainstream proven product when it costs more than just groceries. But hopefully more recent events will have convinced poors that dropping down a tier for an Nvidia card is in fact the smarter choice than going for the value knockoff with no staying power.

One issue is having two separate disassociated LLCs on "one" CPU and with 2 3d caches you just have even more of that. I dont expect there will be any benefit to 2x 3d cache

I think he means that headphones with different isolation need different tuning. Resolve called it some mystical bullshit, don't worry about it.
>>
>>108506423
No I don't think that's what he meant at all.
Do you guys realize what he's actually doing? They measured their HRTF then measured headphones with in ear mics to get HPTF. Peaks he is tuning out are HIS HPTF.
Why would "different isolation" have any bearing on his individual treble peaks? He literally says "what headphone's acoustics expect" as if it means anything lol
After destroying muh techs he still needs some as resolved put it mythical bullshit to cope with what he's hearing. Why not attribute techs to the same mythical bullshit then? How is he so sure that it's inherent properties of a headphone and not just errors of their measurements? Maybe mics show louder resonance than he actually hears or whatever... Or maybe it's some kind of perceptual bias and he just likes more treble than measurements and their targets suggest

I hate the shitty threads you people make.
I want to share what has opened my eyes, for other novices like me, who are trying to leave Winslop 11.

This thread is supposed to put you on the right track to making your own decision,
after reading this thread the fog of Linux won't be there anymore,
you will know what you want and you will find the distro that is suitable for you.

> 1. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/1b/Linux_Distribution_Timeline.svg
This old image includes 95% of all Linux distros in existence, study this.

Studying this image alone, is going to help you see through idiotic arguments like "mint is better" or "go with arch" or "go with pop_os" -- most of them have a parent OS.

> 2. Distro arguments are pointless. #1 choice that you must make is what family Linux do you want and pick.
If you studied image above, you will see there distinct few families of Linux, the relevant ones are: Debian, Fedora, Arch.

I've been fucking around with OpenSUSE in VMs and like it a lot, but I've always heard it's kinda shit for nvidia cards, is that still true?
>>
>>108506169
OpenSUSE is very good. You can work around the Nvidia issues if you learn some basics, mainly just learning how to pair kernel version with driver version.
That said on bare metal, you may want to choose something reliable that has an Nvidia ootb option. Even Arch has that now if you use Archinstall.
>>
>>108504060
Most laptops are using proprietary ACPI protocols. You would need to patch the kernel, but since Debian's kernel is very old in comparison to other distributions, this option is out off the table, since I don't want to patch and compile kernel from scratch myself
>>
>>108503889
>>108504060
>>108506306
Getting a modern kernel is as easy as swapping for Liquorix (or Xen depending on the distro, but I've found Liquorix more reliable).
And updated firmware is as easy as
`cd /tmp
git clone git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/firmware/linux-firmware.git
cd linux-firmware/
sudo cp -va * /lib/firmware/`
and then
`sudo update-initramfs -u`

I also use CoreCtrl to manage my 9070XT, so with it I've also replaced my Mesa drivers with an almost up to date version with Ernstp's Mesa Almost-Stable repo;
