What are /g/ approved drawing tablet brands? Jewcom is overpriced, and Xencelabs is trying to be Jewcom v2.0. What do you think about XP-Pen and Huion?

I work with real artists I can say with certainty that a vast majority use an ipad and procreate for their main drawing/sketching purposes and then move to adobe for rendering or whatever other tools needed. judging from this thread and the IC population, they don't like apple products but again I work directly in the industry and I see it 8/10 times. take that as you will
>>
>>106498944
the "industry" is pretty broad. everyone I work with uses either wacom or real paper scanned -> continued in photoshop with wacom. some people use procreate for fun or whatever but it's too simplistic for serious work. photoshop or maybe corel painter. the only people using apple products are the ones in front who need to fulfill customer's stereotype expectations.

i have an xp pen deco 01 v2 and it has everything i'd ever need. really cheap (on aliexpress they have a warehouse in poland which is nice if you live in eu). it doesnt have eraser on the opposite end, but the rocker button is convenient enough for that. i wish the tablet buttons were bigger and nicer. on mobile this tablet fucking sucks, just get a smasnug with pen support.
i recommend getting the largest tablet you have space for, because you can make the active area smaller in the driver software. dont look at low end screen tablets, because they might have cursor offset (all screen tablets have shit contrast because of the rough coating)
>>
>>106491806
Don't look at brands, look at specific models. All brands have bad products.
For Huion specifically (and XP-Pen probably also since they are almost same brand) anything using the *latest* pen-tech is really good. Older models are unusable garbage.

It's gotten pretty serious, hasn't it?

These aren't some shitty pre-selected questions or IRC chatbots though. They are literal AI bombs that can act autonomously and have one mission, to shit at all costs.
>>
>>106488887
LLMs allow them to act without any human input whatsoever (except setting the bot up). They can write nonsense out of thin air and generate images and videos from nothing. Perfect if you want to shit up some hashtags or discussion threads to generate fake attention.
>>
>>106487527
Somebody needs to use this to make a spam filter
>>
>>106497608
I'd say that twitter is actually the only platform that has the ability to keep its AI from going stale or eating itself. I don't like the idea but at least it has humans.
>>
>>106497495
LinkedIn is dead, but I wouldn't want to extrapolate from that to all the web.
>>106497608
Nah, I regularly look at a few accounts, that use X more like a blog, and that are clearly run by a human.
The default frontend became complete trash for that a few months after Musk took over, though.
And for actual discussions, 4chan is far more well suited, but unfortunately most people probably don't see the gain to be had, if they can't put their name into it.

DeepSeek is infinitely smarter than ChatGPT.

ChatGPT is generic.

I wrote a unique value proposition for my website but was struggling with explaining it. Small things such as words and formulations were important for clarity. I asked ChatGPT about improvements and spent 25 messages battling diminished quality and increased generality.
I then asked DeepSeek if it understood what my service was going for by reading the text, and exactly why I wasn't really happy with it.

I watched it reason and it then responded with "Yes, I understand EXACTLY what you are going for and your value proposition is unique!"
It then proceeded with explaining it better than I, and gave me a much clearer text I could use.

0% generality, 100% originality. I was in awe.

If only it didn't have such shit fontface and UX, and if only it knew my native language a little bit better, it would mog ChatGPT up the ass.

Yeah, Gemini is my favorite, but it's not without it's pains.

>>106499035
>i used to get into some heated arguments with characters over them going crazy on me over some innocuous line they took the wrong way
>after a certain point it was walking on eggshells putting a disclaimer behind everything i said
>>106498970
>I hate how it makes characters assume the worst of the User and will have them go ballistic.
I've had problems like that sorta. On my end, it was more like gemini was just being needlessly hostile. Not only was the character just being an ass even after we've bond or she otherwise opened up, but there was a time with 2.0 where I told gemini I had a conversation with a contact for a pick-up and give it details. Gemini just said "Nah, what he actually said was this:" Then just made the guy standoffish. I'm only slightly exaggerating. I got pissed once and just started arguing directly with gemini about how stupidly hostile he was being.

>they are female bots though so i took it as realism
lol yeah. Though that kinda breaks for me when she has a mental breakdown after passionate sex and goes completely silent. I guess that might be realistic, but gemini always brings things to a fucking stagnation to the point that it's made a character act suicidally retarded just so it can keep it's stupid shit going.
>>
>>106499069
yes
make your own by mixing what you like about the others you find on the internet. Avani is not bad but I prefer it more for GPT than Gemini. Mine is a combination of Avani, Fluff and an older one, Minsk. In general I try for it to be around 1000 tokens not counting extras

Ignoring the fact that it's not just security through obscurity, and that there are tools. Lets also talk about how many Linux users also know their computers. And knowing your computer is the best way to notice suspicious shit, and protect yourself manually.

Is it because I’ve been watching old anime from the 80s that the sound feels muffled, kind of low, and not very high quality?
I feel like I’m going crazy I even uninstalled the new audio drivers, but it made no difference. My system volume is at 67%, and my headphones (the ones with the dragon logo on the sides) are set to high volume.

What’s the ideal volume configuration, and how can I make sure the audio quality is as good as possible?
17 replies and 3 images omitted. Click here to view.
>>
>>106496829
It's simply because of the recording medium.
Magnetic tapes aren't as transparent as digital recording making pro-processing more problematic.
They lack the crispy "sizzle" often associated with hi-fi audio.
iZotope RX might be able to help a bit with its spectral recovery tool.

I found this craptop in an eviction clear out last year. It had windows 10 installed & couldn't get out of its own way. I know fuck-all aboot computers, software & programming. Chan reccomended XFCE. I Watched a few videos and made it happen. Definitely learning curve, but I like it.

5 months ago, the battery failed & bloated.

By the Chaos Of Kek, I found one *for free* on Amazon Vine. ordered & installed... it would not charge. Kek provides: there was an option to return & replace the already *FREE* battery. 2nd battery arrived yesterday. I installed it, assuming it also would be junk. it works perfectly!

My craptop lives on.

what is a proper offering in thanks?

does anyone else sense that technology has completely stagnated and that we will not see any real advancement at least in our lifetimes?
probably a good thing in the grand scheme of things but it just feels weird now how we were so used to change year by year and now all of a sudden we're going to have almost no change at all going forward.

Linux desktop has come far in recent years.

combine rolling release beta release with file system snapshots (brtfs or zfs or even ext4 with backup solution)

this is what you need to run to have a dynamic, up to date and fast desktop with support for recent hardware without sacrificing stability and uptime thanks to the snapshots.

anything else is asking for trouble or not being able to compile anything new because your package versions are too stable (too old) or crashing everything because you run beta testing packages without a backup.
