this general is technical discussion and asshats
/aicg/ is casual roleplay discussion and mouthbreathers
take your pick! oh, and I forget that a general still exists on /vg/. That one is where a lot of this started, but last I checked it was kind of a weird place to hang out. in this general, actual groundbreaking SOTA methods like CoT have been explored by an anon who was later cited in a paper, I think kalomaze was his name but some anon can correct me. that was the principle behind reasoning, which became a big part of 2025 LLM releases. and we have a resident llama.cpp dev, and he's a pretty cool guy. but if you're less interested in running models than you are in roleplaying with them, /aicg/ might be more your speed. i hope you have a fun and warm 4chan experience newfriend :)

cheapest i'd go is outemu peach/lime or kailh box coconut? look around, there are a bunch of cheap switches there that won't break the bank

I call them that derisively because they always say "I need a backlight to see the keys" etc.

>Song submission rules/guidelines
Upload the file somewhere, preferably in a lossless format, and post the link here. If you want to update your track, make a new post.
Include the song title in the post, and make it clear that your song is a submission for the album.
Optionally you may include cover art for your track, but please confirm that the image in your post is the cover art or it won't be included. You may not use your real artist name.
Songs that contain anything against YouTube's policies won't be uploaded on YT, but will still be added to the album.
By default, tracks will be normalised to -14 LUFS (integrated loudness) in the release. You may specify a lower loudness for your track.
Use of AI is banned. This includes AI generated stems, samples, and effects. "AI" includes all neural network-based models and not hard-coded automation/procedural generation. You are allowed to ask an LLM about music-related questions, but asking it to give you musical ideas (eg. generating a chord progression) is already a no-no.

My Sennheiser Accentum just died on me today and I need a new one asap.
Willing to spend up to $250 USD, but would prefer less
Looking for something with equal or better ANC than the Sennheiser, must be Wireless, and with more room for my big ass monkey ears. The Sennheiser kept rubbing my ears on the inside and it would get itchy and leave dead skin on the inside.

Also do you guys know if it would be too hard to fix the headset. Currently the noise cancelling is spewing out random noise (like the ocean) instead of noise cancelling. I have another Accentum headset a working speaker, would it be possible to replace?
>>
>>107856982
When you start hearing distortion in your setup caused by bad wiring. 6ft probably the longest id consider, should be fine as long as the usb to source isn't too far but if you hear your sound shit up then its definitely the cable
>>
>>107857107
If its under warranty send in I guess, they probably can.
If not just get another, not much better in ANC at that price. Just clean ur shit with a microfibre cloth after use.
>>
>>107857127
Well I was mainly hoping you guys would know of other brands that have more room for your ears. I hear the Quiet comforts are good, but haven't been able to try one on.
Surely you guys have a handful of 'go-to' brands that are reliable.
>>
>>107857165
I use IEMs when I'm outside, in all honesty ANCs sound like shit and are often overpriced so I just used the money on refurbished XBA-Z5s and a Fiio dongle.
Big reason the $20 IEM + Crinacle/Apple dongle meme took off is it's crazy value compared to mainstream ANC shit for portables. The seal on IEMs is psuedo ANC to an extent, too.
Quiet seem fine, your ears seem bigger than usual though if the Sennys are raping them so you probably should try and try stuff on before you buy.

#define __NR_mmap                9

this is probably my favorite syscall of all time. we could spend weeks discussing this alone. it is extremely powerful, versatile, and widely used. not to mention, it's one of the (somewhat) rare six argument syscalls. some potential points of discussion:
> the addr argument, and its use without flags, with MAP_FIXED, and with MAP_FIXED_NOREPLACE
> file-backed vs anonymous mappings
> the concept of pages, page sizing, and alignment
> guard pages and PROT_NONE
> the actual meaning of SIGSEGV, and how there's more to segfaults than simply process crashes
> core dumps and stack traces
> other related signals, such as SIGBUS
> MAP_GROWSDOWN and the stack
> the use of mmap (as opposed to brk) for allocation via the *alloc family
> manual memory management vs an allocation scheme

I am buying a Google Pixel 7a because my Samsung A03s doesn't work with voicemail and doesn't charge properly.

What am I in for buying a Google Pixel 7a? What did I do wrong with my Samsung?

Is Google Pixel 7a a good phone? I heard mixed things about Google Pixels being slow but other things about it being really useful. The one I am getting is octa-core and has 128 gigabytes.

What is better: a 14" or a 16" MacBook Pro? I can't decide. It's unironically too difficult to decide. On one hand, I would prefer the larger display, on the other hand I use my laptop exclusively when I can't use my PC to do something, which means I need a laptop for use around the house and carry it outside first and foremost. I absolutely do not want to use an external monitor almost ever though.

it's a rolling release distro with so few maintainers that it's basically slower-updating than something like Fedora. also it's unironically run by trannies nowadays and on several occasions packages have been rejected due to "ideological" reasons.
it's ridiculously light and I find it interesting distro to fuck around in (the musl version is very solid), it's probably my favorite non-systemd distro out there, but at the end of the day I don't see it lasting too much longer.
