I have a multi-GPU setup where I have 4 displays, both GPUs are 700XTXes.

- GPU1: HDMI/DP
- GPU2: HDMI/DP

The HDMI monitors are 4k120, the DP monitors are 4k60. When I try and set the 4k120 monitor on GPU2 to 120Hz the monitor starts turning on and off. If I set this to 60Hz I don't have an issue.
I've disabled VRR on all of the monitors. I've trued KDE, GNOME, and Niri and all of them have the same issues. Wayland BTW.

Also, why was my previous thread deleted? This is a software-based application explicitly engineered for operation within the computational and telecommunications framework of a handheld mobile device, ok? It is therefore unambiguously situated within the broader domain of contemporary technological systems, infrastructures, and applied digital sciences, and as such relevant to /g/.

LLM posts from coders are usually them realizing they're not as cool as they thought they were, and falsely blame AI for this. But AI can only write code... what they're actually realizing is that all they do is crap out code, too.

LLMs can only shit out text, including code. Many descriptions of AI fear falsely equate coding (that is, typing concrete code so it does something) with every other role of software product development, including: management, architecture design, maintenance, integrating libraries, UX design, testing, directing a product, deployment, networking, marketing, growing, etc. However, many of these things can actually be coded now as opposed to years ago (like how Terraform can setup a whole AWS stack for you if you provide a spec, or how you can deploy ads on Google without having to talk to anyone), and since there are a lot of full examples online, many don't really require a lot of experience to implement. So a lot of these things resemble coding, and coding resembles those things. When an LLM shits out code, retards think their entire job is at stake, and it could be if all the retard does is follow instructions from someone else.

Code monkeys are discovering they can all be managers. Some flip out because they thought their job was above menial, mechanical coding. Some lose their minds because they propped up coding as the work of geniuses, so LLMs must be one step off from genius. Some go insane because they think the mechanical part of coding was holding them back from landing product after product. They're all falsely equating shitting out code to the entirety of software development.
>>
>>107703692
That's fair. But not everyone is worried about what the AI can do. They're worried about putting food on the table.

remember AA batteries? AAA batteries? rechargeable AA batteries?
we already had standardized batteries and they took it from us. There is no reason that we can't have standardized lithium ion batteries in all rechargeable consumer electronics. We don't need custom batteries for vape pens.
imagine how much easier the logistics for recycling batteries would become.
it's the same thing as car parts no longer being standardized.

They also need to stop purposely slowing down old phones. This is the most significant driving factor forcing people to buy new phones.

>The development comes a little over a year after the tech giant [Google] disclosed that its transition to Rust led to a decline in memory safety vulnerabilities from 223 in 2019 to less than 50 in 2024.

>The company pointed out that Rust code requires fewer revisions, necessitating about 20% fewer revisions than their C++ counterparts, and has contributed to a decreased rollback rate, thereby improving overall development throughput.

>We adopted Rust for its security and are seeing a 1000x reduction in memory safety vulnerability density compared to Android's C and C++ code. But the biggest surprise was Rust's impact on software delivery," Google's Jeff Vander Stoep said. "With Rust changes having a 4x lower rollback rate and spending 25% less time in code review, the safer path is now also the faster one

>With roughly 5 million lines of Rust in the Android platform and one potential memory safety vulnerability found (and fixed pre-release), our estimated vulnerability density for Rust is 0.2 vuln per 1 million lines (MLOC).

>Our historical data for C and C++ shows a density of closer to 1,000 memory safety vulnerabilities per MLOC. Our Rust code is currently tracking at a density orders of magnitude lower: a more than 1000x reduction.

there is another trick that would also make this work with interactive usage. but i will keep it to myself until i land my impl in a couple of major projects (if i ever get the time).
>>

5-10% faster, nice. I used memchr_iter since the needle is just one byte.
use std::io::{self, Read, Write};

fn main() -> io::Result<()> {
let mut input = Vec::new();
io::stdin().read_to_end(&mut input)?;
let mut lines = Vec::new();
let mut prev_idx = 0;
for idx in memchr::memchr_iter(b'\n', &input) {
let idx = idx + 1;
lines.push(&input[prev_idx..idx]);
prev_idx = idx;
}
lines.sort_unstable();

This is a mistake and the reason C++ sucks as much as it does. You should not send library APIs as "C header files."
>>
>>107700159
Backwards compatibility is not the issue. Backwards compatibility does not force them to create incredibly complex minimally useful features. Backwards compatibility does not force them to add endless trash to the standard library whilst ignoring the core language. There are so much low hanging fruit features they could add which would have zero effect on backwards compatibility, but its not considered, because adding useful, powerful features goes against the purpose of c++, which is to torture programmers.
>>
>>107701659
>which is to torture programmers

By why though?

Stroustrup was crying that his lang was under 'serious attack', so surely there should be plenty incentive for much needed and desired improvement now right?
>>
>>107701771
The ISO standard committee is in charge, and they are malicious. Even the first standard in 1998 made some fundamental decisions which ruined the language. I believe the standard committee is a cult of Slaanesh, they empower their dark god through the suffering of millions of programmers. Every single feature added to c++ is carefully crafted to induce despair, each feature crafted to be just barely useful, whilst being as hideous and awkward to use as possible. They also make sure features are as narrow as possible, no general purpose powerful features are ever considered.

The only real problem is cache-hungry websites and bloated web, an hdd just sucks for that. I've got an interview in two days with a company that previously denied me after making it to the final round of interviews. The recruiter told me that they might skip the technical interview due to me doing well the last time I interviewed with them.
Upcoming interview is with 3 people whose roles are:
Senior Quality Analyst
Senior Quality Analyst
Senior Analyst I

Wtf is a "Quality Analyst" and am I correct in assuming that this is going to be more of a behavioral interview vs technical?

I'm learning nftables.
I don't like how it actually has no default "tables" but hooks, but okay.

1. What is the point of the on the host fw, if basically everything you install, adds its own rules that bypass your and system rules? Ex - case docker port publish.

1.1 How do I nuke ufw and systemd firewall and docker or k8s (temporarily) from adding their extra rules?

2. Any good intro into fw rules? To better understand nat & forwarding, with either iptables or nfw.

I want to run router to internal network
