At this point, I wont even use any desktop environment on linux if it isn't X11. Even XFCE is dead to me because it has wayland support. I will never support anything wayland based on linux.

No, they don't. It's easier to copy the photos off your iPhone, edit them and post them on social media using macOS, so if that's your use case and you can afford a decent Mac, that's the better option. But it doesn't affect my use case of compiling code, running VMs, etc., and Linux does that better.

Finally, somebody will make a good Linux desktop. No more of these shitty hobbyist distros like CachyOS, Mint, and MX Linux.

We will leave Windows and even some of those Linux distros for Google's desktop OS in 2026.

You know it's true.

The one thing that ultimately defines a desktop OS is good multimedia support, which troonix wasn't designed for, but even if it was, hardware manufacturers still wouldn't provide good drivers due to Micropozz and FagOS binopolies.

Not happening now, not happening ever.

I'm curious why the XLR to begin with? I don't know much about the tech, is there some reason they made it that way instead of something more common?
>>
>>107651729
Dunno their reasoning exactly, but it's a robust connector and it's actually relatively common, at least in the "pro audio" market they're targeting. Maybe not for headphones, but again, the connector itself isn't difficult to find at all and widely available.
>>

hello I passed here a year ago and then decided to buy audiotechnica ATH-M40x headphones as kind of a midrange budget choice, im back because they broke and with the warranty I got around 100€ to buy new ones but I see the audiotechnica are not listed anymore here

any buying advice? i want them closed, I listen mostly to music and videogamez, I got a steinberg IXO22, around 100€ budget, im a rym autist. I really want my headphones to be durable, not because I throw them around or anything like that but because im not really listening to flac audio files and I just know that most headphones are just fine.
>>
>>107651729
Mini XLR is actually the most robust connector type for headphones in my experience. Locking connectors like this one or the Hirose one DCA uses are better since they won't loosen and mini XLR is actually the more robust of the two imo. One of those Hirose ones in my Aeons actually has gotten a little loose over time meanwhile the XLR my LCD-2 uses is basically indestructible. Sennheiser used a single connector instead of one per driver though, which might be more convenient but makes getting a cable for them harder since you have to look for one specifically for that model. Audeze actually did something similar with MM-100 since it also uses some weird wiring and regular cables with that connector just won't work properly. Hate this shit, basically proprietary just for the sake of it. And two connectors means there's no wire going through the headband meaning repairs are easier since you can even have no headband and both drivers will work anyway. But Sennheiser always used proprietary connectors for their stuff, like with HD6X0 headphones.

That's just how they are. Why do you think they keep larping about "doing work" and shilling gayers so much? Like, in what world does using offset/staggered alphas and the spacebare after inputting your fighting game combo make more sense than simply just using the numpad with it's larger addition and enter keys?

Partially correct. China has scaled back a little on drone selling to Ukraine over the past year, but has largely sold the parts in bulk where Ukraine basically puts it together very quickly. Obviously export restrictions apply to both russia and ukraine. Export restrictions are also quite easy to bypass and EU has been shipping to Ukraine what they lack after buying from China. Russia, however, largely produces the vast majority of their drones in house. Their entire drone industry has been built and scaled in house since they started buying from Iran a few years ago. The vast majority of drones being used in the war have been tooled and built in house for over 2 years now. China was pressured to scale back part production export from EU and USA into Russia so they decided to do it to Ukraine if they were gonna do it to Russia over 2 years ago. Ukraine has been trying to hit drone production plants constantly.

I was thinking about this a few years ago. I considered a few solutions including tape and some special optical disks intended to have a long shelf life.
In the end I decided to place a few retroreflectors at 10, 20, and 30 light years from Earth. I encoded all my data into a single stream of bits and transmitted them towards each reflector with a laser. If I lose the other copies of my data I'll have convenient opportunities to recover it at the 20, 40, and 60 year marks just by being ready in the right place with a photodetector.
