In his defense it's sometimes a feature, Beyerdynamic's A20 amp was explicitly sold as being able to power two headphones for example
That and lazyness probably made it seem not important to not have more headphones plugged in than necessary
>>
>>107888678
While that's pretty stupid, none of those should've been drawing enough current to fry something that can push almost 8 Watts per channel. Maybe there's some fuckery going on with the combination of different inductive and capacitive loads, but if the output stage is so sensitive to such loads that it can blow up, it's just plain poorly designed.
>>
>Generally not and you can tell when they do. 7506, DT770, ATH M40X, ... are popular for monitoring. IE listening for equipment issues. It has to be clear but they're not worried about tonal fidelity because you can't have tonal fidelity on headphones without EQ to fit the user. Quality mixing headphones are a relatively new thing, relatively expensive, and still not widely used.

doesn't Realphones solve this problem? People say that it works perfectly for mixing on headphones, and they support a lot of headphones. there's also VSX but they aren't as good apparently and you have to use their shitty headphones.

At this point I think the newer models are smart enough that if you ran like 100 thousand instances of them for long enough you could achieve AGI in a year or so.
They're not even more intelligent than a junior engineer, but the issue is that the average person can do very little real intellectual work over the course of a lifetime. LLMs are like if you took an immortal halfwit and forced it to take Adderall until it wrote you Shakespeare.
I guess it's happening just like AI 2027 lol.
Except God will intervene with some bullshit slowdown like a Taiwanese tsumani or a coronal mass ejection or COVID 2 or some shit because we are meant to rot and wither away instead of living in peace and abundance
Thousands of hours? Okay, link me one.

The zapper looks stupid because of 80s moral panic, the original Famicom gun is a revolver. That said, even the zapper feels vaguely gun like in the hand, which no VR turd does. If you now point to the zapper clone that you can bolt a tracker to that doesn't actually work right anymore because Valve deleted half the features of the trackers, I'm going to laugh at you.

If VR actually had games that were even half as good as the worst light gun title I can think of, you might have a point. Unfortunately, VR is completely devoid of content, and even the absolute minimum level shit I thought would be an option when I wasted money on a headset, like being able to play Time Crisis in VR, never really came to fruition. Now please, tell me all about EmuVR so I can shit on you for talking about that too.

The quality is worse, AptX uses subbands then they chop bits off the signal and encode the sound with ADPCM, the missing bits are "replaced" with a hardcoded quantization noise LUT they optimized so it doesn't sound too bad
Effectively this means the higher the frequency the lower the sound quality. AptX HD is the same but with more bits so there's a lot less quantization noise.
SBC has distortions esp with subbass for some reason and will remove high freq content (>16khz) to prioritize lower frequencies
the only codec i can recommens without hesitation is LDAC 44.1/48khz 909/990kbps, as far as i'm concerned it's close enough to lossless no matter the volume, only cons are availability on PC and high latency

I'm not aware of any of them having PEQ or requiring an account but they should save the settings until you change them back or factory reset the headphones

It all started for me thinking I should get better speakers to enjoy my time sitting at desktop listening to music more.

It started from choosing speakers for few hundred and ended up with €2k+ for speakers & amp. Before i swallow this pill which became quite painfully expensive wonder if it's all worth it.
The value gains at higher price is so miniature if any but it all comes down to I'm gonna keep it and enjoy it forever so don't want to cheap out either.

been there done that ?
>>
>>107889735
Really depends.

What speakers/amp? How big is your room? What kind of setup, just for music? PC? home cinema?
>>
>>107889735
No reason to spend over $1000 on the speakers. Neumann KH 80 has perfect FR and directivity. The rest should be spent on the subwoofer(s). Room treatment is only needed for speakers with bad directivity that are far away from you. In most cases you need far less than the Neumanns. But if you have no sub and don't EQ you're missing out big time. No, speakers never get good enough to not need a sub.
>>
>>107889735
It all depends on your goals. Where would you listen to it? Do you want to listen to music, watch movies or both? How big is the room. I would say after $2000 for a stereo setup there's gonna be little improvement with every dollar. If you want multi channel it's a bit different.
>>
>>107889735
Reminder that if you're looking for more bass there's absolutely no reason to spend 1500 bucks on fancy gold-plated cables handmade by some artisan which claim to "noticeably increase the low-end especially in dynamic listening scenarios" when you could just turn the big dial on your amplifier labeled BASS, or alternatively invest into an equalizer or other signal processing devices for more refined control.

Just buy good studio monitors and you are set for life. I bought genelecs 12 years ago. I'm using just generic xlr->3.5mm cables straight to computer. You just can't beat this setup without using ridiculous amount of money for a very tiny improvement.
