Do browsers use your GPU or CPU when playing youtube videos by default?

if your gpu can decode the video codec and your browser is aware of that, it will offload that to the GPU

because the Dell Inspiron 7560 exists, has a six core Xeon that probably roflstomps it and for 950 you can get the one with the 16gb Nvidia RTX 5000 16gb, mine has the A4000 8gb which is still very good for AAA gaymen

>>

why?

If you wanted a typing machine that can do light browsing and has the classic Thinkpad keyboard go grab a functional T420 and upgrade it instead.

private equity has been buying up popular creators who have been getting burned out. The content must continue but the og person running it has checked out mentally or actually leaves. This leaves middlemen squeezing large channels favored by the algo for money and hired-on's running things. Safer vids, less risks. It's turning into just a bad version of cable TV.

you need to stop watching popular videos or you will become the millennial version of a BOOMER drooling on a couch with the remote in your hand as vapid bullshit is pushed on you. You turned into your Dad, sorry.

There is still good stuff on youtube as it is a fairly open platform where anyone can upload, but you need to stop just refreshing the front page. Use your subscription tab, go to channels you like and browse their catalog, and generally seek out content you want. The algo is cancer, it's addiction, it's sugar, it's a slot machine. It's fine to have some candy, but don't ONLY eat candy.

And you even get double the telemtry once to brave once to google (sniff the requests). And worse even if you disable any kinds of telemtry or updates all chromium forks will still keep pinging google for "legitimate" reasons. Thats why ungoogled went the way of replacing strings instead of removing the code.

Things like privacy statements and permission to use cookies are little more than sophisticated propaganda. If you think for a moment the Overlords cannot prepare a dossier on you within minutes that would make your mother faint and your father die of shame, you’re living in fantasy land. You have no idea how much data they store on individuals, and not just credit card purchases: tracking data, telephone conversations, text messages, anything you ever posted on the Internet. It’s a devouring machine. Get in their way, and you will find out how much they know about you. It has been this way for a very long time. This is nothing new. And yes, they really can turn on your cell phone camera and microphone at will without lights, so long as the battery is attached. And VPN? I laugh when I think about VPN. There is no cryptographic protocol used on the Internet, that the Overlords who brought all these technologies out in the first place, cannot decipher. None. The only way to live with this level of privacy evasion is to accept the reality of it. Stop thinking you are ever alone. Out in the middle of nowhere with no electronics on you? Maybe

greedy margins.
If they priced this generation of gpus aggressively they would have taken a lot of market share back. Once in a lifetime chance really. But there is a woman in charge so no vision just management. Sad to see.
>>
I think the other guy nailed it. Nvidia is still feeding off of the legendary 10 series, that 1 series built such a stronghold on the industry even after the years and years of locked features, higher prices and lower tiers getting killed on silicon/cuda count/vram the mental lock they have on the market is too impregnable. 10 series just killed AMD, who didn't own a card in the 10 series, at any tier and love it. Ironically it's also the time nvidia saw they can really start getting away with bullshit like the 1060 3GB.
>>
>>106486670
It won't magically produce CUDA out of thin air. ROCm is still not a full replacement because much of the software will just refuse to run if the legitimate CUDA is not present.
>>
>>106485914
>Gamers want ray tracing?
gamers don't give a shit about gay tracing. gamers want performance and cuda, two things that AMD cannot provide on the GPU market. and on top of that, they're selling their GPUs at prices that could only work if they were in a dominant position, considering their GPUs are not only more expensive than Nvidia's, but also worse in every aspect. AMD can only compete (and does it very well) in the CPU and gaming consoles markets nowadays

this thread seemed just the blind leading the blind until this anon who gens

if you want to do lewd or really anything interesting doing it locally is the answer. I started a month ago and yes it is a steep learning curve but most of you here are smart enough to understand it if you are genuinely interested. A few tips:

the generated images contain the workflow metadata (except 4chan strips it) so ask anons for the actual gen and some will share it. initially their workflows will look very complex, I still don't understand lots of if. But yes you can use loras to add details or concepts you like, you can make your own, you can add additional detail passes to remove bad eyes or fingers, you can make it look insanely detailed, etc. You can generate video, you can generate music, you can generate speech and lip synch the video. It's insane. Now yes a good video card will help but there are special workflows for poorfags with cheap gpus. go and lurk in the stable diffusion threads and look at the sticky.

Ecelebs will forever be a cancer. Luke Smith was a bit of a pseud and Distrotube isn't much of a programmer, so Tsoding is at least a small improvement. I remember watching his content when he was a Haskellfag. That was also during the FP craze. Now the trend is low level programming and he's all about C and C replacements. Also a move in the right direction. Maybe 5 years from now people will start being obsessed with Lisp.
