I feel you. 4 years ago I suffered from severe depression and was medicated with Sertraline. One of the side effects was tremor in my right hand, wasn't able to solder for a whole year. But instead I picked up acrylic painting and made my tremor part of the creative process.

After two or so years of soldering for work at different places, I can confidentally say that at least 50% of people struggle with soldering is the equipment.
The other 50% is worrying too much and working something wrong, and not enough flux.

the last time I had to solder anything was high school. I needed to replace a busted capacitor on my motherboard with a 1$ replacement from radioshack

What can you do with the hardware or data getting it physically vs hacking for it digitally? For most of computing history, there was no reason to do that even with the dot com bubble. And even now, GPUs aren't expensive enough yet to warrant doing that given the security that datacenters have already, and then shipping it over to some customer like a Chinese one. You need someone highly technical to even know what to do with these GPUs. I suspect when Rubin comes out, that is when the prices for datacenter GPUs will have skyrocketed enough for someone to even bother trying this.

how close am I to a viable product and what should I charge for it? for reference, the 5 drive SSD unit on top retails for $146.95 on Amazon.
This is a proof of concept that I'm using to put an old Pi3b+ out to pasture with, I would use a Pi 5 for anything serious. The RPi is frankenwired into the drive bay for power and switch access, the relay hat drives the switches and can turn it on and off and read the LEDs under the buttons. I've written some nigger-rigged scripts to turn things on after a power failure and get the drives online and RAID checks, etc.
