I have all sorts of wrappers that run local apps

for example typing "spongebob" runs
setsid ~/Applications/mpv-master/build/mpv --auto-window-resize=no --autofit=55% --force-window --shuffle ~/Videos/Spongebob >/dev/null 2>&1 &

to auto play spongebob episodes in mpv. Plenty of more wrappers like that and I don't need sudo.

No he isn't, He is a DemSoc that happens to make exceptions on free speech and many negative social liberties. Even though his political views are far from mutualism and classical (pre ayn rand) libertarianism he correctly identified the patent monopoly.

If he was a communist he would demand the United States Government force everyone to open source their code

youtube re-encoded all their videos to save space around the same time that google cleared our old accounts and shit on gmail and other services (they own youtube and also cleaned out a lot of abandoned YT accounts). the bitrate on lower resolution videos now is LESS than it was when they were initially uploaded and served.

I tried using my phone but within a few weeks the headphone jack was broken. Phones are too big as audio players, which you typically put into a pocket that barely fits it, putting way too much mechanical stress on the plug and jack. And screw bluetooth IEMs, not gonna put a chink shit lithium bomb in my ears and I don't want to have to charge them in the first place.
Meanwhile I've been using my small and light sansa clip+ for over a decade without issues (except the volume up button being broken, but I can set the volume via settings so no big deal)

>/g/ makes a 19th album
Theme: [Accepting suggestions]

>Song submission rules/guidelines
Upload the file somewhere, preferably in a lossless format, and post the link here. If you want to update your track, make a new post.
Include the song title in the post, and make it clear that your song is a submission for the album.
Optionally you may include cover art for your track, but please confirm that the image in your post is the cover art or it won't be included. You may not use your real artist name.
Songs that contain anything against YouTube's policies won't be uploaded on YT, but will still be added to the album.
By default, tracks will be normalised to -14 LUFS (integrated loudness) in the release. You may specify a lower loudness for your track.
Use of AI is banned. This includes AI generated stems, samples, and effects. "AI" includes all neural network-based models and not hard-coded automation/procedural generation. You are allowed to ask an LLM about music-related questions, but asking it to give you musical ideas (eg. generating a chord progression) is already a no-no.

What should I learn to get a tech job now?
I don't have a college degree, but I leavened to program in college more than a decade ago. I occasionally still program and had a programming job for a year.
Should I start doing a lot of vibe coding and use that as a "marketable skill"?

I'm building a visual novel project in Ren'Py and I want some help from an AI editor to get shit done fast. I tried cursor ai which was really good but I quickly ran out of the agent credits or whatever. I realize that I make tons of small requests (e.g. move this UI element and do x with it) which I'm assuming each counts as a credit or token. as this is obviously nothing complex, I'm assuming I could easily use a free shitty model but I want it to do what cursor is doing which is letting me prompt my request and have the AI edit the ren'py file directly in the editor which is a fork of VS code. are there any good options for this? or should I just pay for a pro subscription to cursor ai like a good goy?

How come C# isn't more popular when it's basically Java but better? Is it because people distrust a language maintained by Microsoft, or does the JVM have non-obvious but crucial advantages over the CLR?

Java's entire schtick is that it's cross platform. C# only exists on windows desktop (desktop is a tiny fraction of the software market) and windows server (windows has a small minority share of the server OS market)

>>

Easiest way to tell the 14.1" and 15" apart from pictures is the width of the keyboard bezels.

You can swap the 14.1" and 15" motherboards between shells if you need to - the boards themselves are identical, there's a little extension daughterboard that lets the ports reach in the 15".

The real prizes are the IPS/AFFS panels in the 15" models. They look gorgeous.

I've been on emacs for a long time, wanted to try vim, can I just use straight ahead raw vim? I kinda quit emacs because I was wasting too much time configuring shit now only to look at the vim side and be bombarded with neovim bullshit and learning lua, using some kind of neovim "distrobution" that relies on a bunch of random shit and random keybinds, or using doom emacs but then I'm still on fucking emacs. I thought vim itself... did pretty much everything? is most of the neovim stuff just to be fancy or slightly easier? I don't get it.
