>Huh, no one will buy this unless it's $50 and it includes a girlfriend. DOA.
This is probably going to be as cheap or cheaper than a pre-built at the same spec, plus it comes with controllers.
>>
>>107883277
Well I don't know the specifics of the deal as clearly as you seem to. But depending on the type of deal you're making you might not necessarily make a deal directly with a RAM manufacturer. You might make a deal with a futures trader that's already ordered the chips years in advance.
>>

Nigger even before the RAM and SSD prices skyrocketed this thing was not worth more than $700.

If you didn't buy a Blu-Ray drive to rip things before 2024/2025, you fucked up. Prices have gone up 200%, the end of production is here, and you will no longer own this for anything less than 200 dollars if you can find it in stock.

I bought an LG Blu-ray drive 8 years ago. Its DVD laser is already dead and I don't expect the BD one to be alive either.
Optical drives are a scam. Their lens degrade over time even if completely unused.
Oh, I also have a slim DVD burner pulled from a laptop, it is 10 years old and also stopped reading discs.

>Optical drives are a scam. Their lens degrade over time even if completely unused.
huh? what company and model?
I think it's extremely rare.

Clankers say:

What fails in an optical drive?

Laser diode slowly weakens over time (even when unused, but very slowly).

Spindle motor and tray motor wear with use.

Lens alignment can drift with heat, shock, or age.

I just downloaded Linux for the first time to get away from Windows bloatware and I had to input 7 commands in the command line to install ProtonVPN including one to download a separate program that allows system tray icons.... is this really the best we have? On Windows and MacOS I just hit install and it installs....

I recently had a funny interaction, i took a piss at a starbucks and didn't buy anything. There's two indians wearing jackets and sandals in 55 degree weather drinking coffee outside using ridiculously oversized android tablets, speaking some impenetrable hindu gobbedygook with "14 inch" "amoled" "galaxy" peppered through. They see this meme phone in my hand and they're too polite or illiterate to say anything to me about it but it's obvious that they're gawking at it. Not in a jealous way, in a mocking way.

But they're indians holding comically oversized tablets outside of a starbucks. It dawned on me that their society is built on caste based elitism so they think that holding an even bigger and more expensive ipad makes them look successful. But they just look like stereotypical third worlders, some white guy with a cheap blackberry clone completely shatters that illusion

Thank you for coming to my ted talk.

What is your least favorite thing about modern refrigerators? I will be moving from where my parents raised me in a few years, and I might have to buy one. My mom might also want to buy a new one because her ice machine is broken. Any recommendations?

Recently I found out that WD now has blue drives that go up to 8 TB, is there any reason why I shouldn't use these over red drives? I've been using 8 TB red drives for my "server" (while it is a data hoarding machine, I don't have anything set up on it like Samba for easy access into it from a network like a proper server) mainly because of their capacity, but since it's something that I mainly use as cold storage I don't really need the optimizations red drives have for continuous use, plus I imagine the way I've been using this data hoarding machine (shutting it down after I'm done getting stuff from it) is probably bad for red drives.
>>
>>107884034
If it's for cold storage it should be fine. It's what they put in some of their externals. Others being the reds. I can't remember which are blues and which are reds. Either way I just bought another Seagate external for cold storage myself.
>is probably bad for red drives.
Kinda but it's more of a nitpicky thing. And that's really only if it's very frequent, like every day.

Just make sure to boot them every so often to check out they're doing. Make sure they still work and all.

This is true. The main issue comes with the fact that Nvidia drivers were top quality until they went full greed-mode and diverted all attention to AI shit. Since then quality has suffered.

It's really funny to see programmers crying about losing ground to AI. Actually, it's not just funny, it's also ironic. Have you ever stopped to think about the many professions that programmers have helped to destroy? Have you ever stopped to think about how many jobs have been automated in recent decades? That's right, there were people who genuinely enjoyed being radio actors, typists, telephone operators, etc. But because of the programs created by programmers, these people had to adapt, others had to completely change professions to survive. Now, after so many decades of destroying other people's jobs, you want to stop the advancement of AI? And it's no use saying that "new professions will emerge" it doesn't matter. Just as you enjoy programming, there were people who enjoyed the job of typist.

You're not special. You're just the average low IQ nigger cattle.
