I am about to give up. I need a new laptop and everything is shit. The only one I can find at a decent price is the Lenovo LOQ series. I am just afraid it will sound like a jet engine. Is there really nothing else with good specs at an affordable price? Thinking around 800

>>
>>107675646
Sure? I don't think anyone is using ProtonVPN for "Anonymity"?
I mean, unless you're committing identity fraud, the VPN is tied to your name, so it isn't like you can use their services to break the law to begin with.

You can pay with cash and use an anon name. Still the problem is, your original IP will always be connected to the VPN. And it's up to you, to trust no log policies.

You can join the vanishingly small group of developers creating Windows apps that come as a small download, launch instantly, and remain responsive while consuming extremely little RAM or CPU.

>The Windows way seems magical until you run into apps that just don't work, in my experience it's a complete crapshoot.
If the devs wrote code by the book, it still works. If they wrote something that relies on undefined behavior that happens to work on Windows 95, it's likely broken on modern Windows unless one of the compatibility shims you can enable replicates the behavior it needs.

>>107678713
At least Windows compares about backward compatibility. Linux can't run most software from even a decade ago, sad!

You can't meaningfully draw or output sound or anything without dynamic linking. Your opengl driver? How you gonna statically link that? Maybe you can static link a pulseaudio client since even pipewire exposes it.

I'm not trying to meme, nor insult the guy; I genuinely want to know.
Not only does he look a bit "off", but his manner of speech is quite reminiscent of those who're intellectually challenged.
I get the impression that Ian only made him a podcast co-host to act as a punching bag to elevate his perceived status. He does not meaningfully contribute anything to the conversation, and has to be corrected by Ian seemingly every other sentence.

Preformative feminism can only take you so far. He's stuck being a tard wrangler because he's as interesting as your average LinkedIn "power-user".
She mainly does the AI Hardware Podcast because of sponsor obligations. For some reason, there are a few executives trying to astroturf Ian's career. Why's that? I really don't know. However, I'd wager that it is rooted in nepotism - it is quite easy to spend someone else's money to uplift a dull mate of yours.

I'd just like to take a moment to shout out the new gooner chrome feature called Split View. It's surprisingly intuitive.

>A genius admire simplicity.

Let's fix your ESL grammar:
- An idiot admires complexity.
- A genius admires simplicity.
Furthermore, both can admire both complexity and simplicity. Ultimately, it is personality-dependent and on a case-by-case basis. But fuck nuance and non-oversimplified concepts and views, right?
The excessively retarded have a tendency towards preferring oversimplifications. A black and white view point is easiest to digest, but this is simply blue-pilling. /po/tards' favorite.

His videos are good for redpilling normies on privacy stuff, and it's pretty nice that he gives more attention to projects like Monero and I2P.

There's 100% sure burn-in in that monitor, but it's most probably unnoticeable, and have in mind that when you put the monitor to sleep it automatically performs the pixel refresh by itself, so at least once a day it's doing its thing even if you don't do it manually.

I have a glass balcony door right next at 90° to it, facing south, and on evenings sunlight hits the screen; matt screen would really suck. Glossy screens also have antiglare coatings, though effectiveness varies.
Btw, I'm using a matt screen protector on my phone rn. It's really just like matt paper: you definitely lose contrast/blacks, and sliding your finger even makes that paper like sound, but i kinda like it. For reading it's not an issue.
