people liked 7 because vista was so shit
people liked 10 because 8 was so shit
they were both well regarded as a result

People definitely did not like 10 at the start and only have done so recently as a cope for Windows 11.
10 basically set the precedence for turning Windows into a service for Microsoft and shifted the revenue focus on not just the actual license sale but also data collection and ads.

What are some Android apps you use on your Android tablets or phones that are pretty nifty. Bonus if they are open source. For me, it's Osmand for hiking maps, and Tubular for watching video without ads with the added sponsorblock.

What nifty Android apps do you guys use that turned out to be pretty useful?

BTW usually with these things you can just take the battery out, so try disconnecting it to see if the board still works. Since you're not so into the wireless idea (I don't like it either, I took the batteries out of all my wireless boards)

I've never used Affinity, but I have tried other RAW editors and none have done what I needed to do as easily as Lightroom does.
>>
>>107847467
everything becomes easier once you learn how to do it with the tools at your disposal
>>
>>107847525
I used DarkTable and RAWTherapee before using Lightroom, though. Lightroom was the first piece of software that felt like it functioned as it should.
>>

>I needed to do as easily
instead of
>I needed to do
and
>felt like it functioned as it should.
instead of
>it functioned as it should
these qualifiers man, it SOUNDS LIKE other software can do what you want it to, but instead of optimizing those work flows, learning those shortcuts, trying software after it updates and may have a better experience than you recall, you've just gave up on them.
Affinity and Davinci Resolve both aren't open source, they are both free to use.
>>
>>107847618
My RAW files in Darktable start off completely wrong, when they start off neutral Lightroom as I would expect them to. I did give up on Darktable and RAWTherapee because the problems I had with them were solved with Lightroom, while putting in the same amount of effort. There's no value nor accomplishment in spending extra time to get to a baseline. I used all that language because I'm not ruling out what's possible, which highlights the fact that it shouldn't take the time that it does to get there.
That said, I'll try out Affinity.

In the book it is revealed that he was paid less than he initially thought and he got more work than he agreed upon. But when he tries to leave, Hammond threatens to badmouth him to other employers so he doesn't.
But in the book, Nedry is also a bigger asshole than in the movies. And Hammond dies in the book.

Haven't read the book since the 90s but IIRC, it wasn't just that it was more work but that the work was far more complex than advertised. Hammond couldn't be too open about the nature of the work given the need for secrecy but once Nedry was hired, signed the NDAs, and saw the true scope of work, Hammond should have paid for a massive change order to account for the difference. Threatening to ruin Nedry's reputation if he backed out after having been tricked about the scope of work was asshole behavior that begged for trouble.

I vibe-coded this app. I know you fags are gonna shit on it, but it's actually decent. Built it to help people dealing with the same illness I have.

Started back when Claude 3.5 Sonnet dropped, now we're on Opus and a dozen other models. Used to love vibe-coding but my job and health issues have me burnt out as fuck.

Been stuck in perfectionist hell (and autism) scared to publish because I don't know how to manage a large codebase if it actually blows up. Should I just ship it or keep tweaking forever? Also, I have some react knowledge but decided to build it on iOS and swift, because I just don't want to deal with 2 play store and app store shit hiccups

Few years at the absolute most
AI is hemorrhaging money right now, so my guess is they'll just start injecting ads into the prompts
So that when you ask for, say, a movie recommendation, it won't respond "a, b, and c are currently trending with high reviews" but instead vomit out a Netflix or Amazon Prime ad and shill their newest releases

I guess I have MW4 to thank for my fondness for the number pad. I had never played a game with controls that complicated, and when Dad first got the game installed, I was furious when I began the tutorial. It seemed impossible. I was used to just arrow keys to move, and space bar to shoot. Dad did the tutorial for a minute or so, and showed me how to play. Game became my obsession for years. I still hum the soundtrack. And I still like numpads.
