I used my PC for less than usual in November and December. It started going to sleep and not waking up. This is especially weird since I didn't change anything and I never had sleep enabled. I now have to use (Right Alt & Print Screen) followed by R, E, S, O, P to turn it off. I then restart it manually and it works. I changed the PC to go to sleep after 15 minutes, which seems to help a bit. If I leave it for a while it still becomes unresponsive. Jiggling the mouse, hitting a key etc. doesn't wake it up.

It's forwards and backwards compatible, so basically a non-issue.

>USB-IF and Intel stated their intention to allow USB4 products that optionally support any or all of the same functionality as Thunderbolt 4 products.

>Thunderbolt 5 is an upgrade over Thunderbolt 4 and likewise a solution brand around USB4 "80 Gbps".

My USB4 ports are all even PCIe 4.0 instead of TB3 spec PCIe 3.0. X870 board.
There's basically no difference between TB and USB now, that was the point.

It's human slop to put it simply. Their solution to every problem was duck tape. It works once but over the years it builds up, creating what we call unpaid technical debt.

Imagine building a house with a ducktaped swiss knife.

All these fags making bimbo looking sex dolls into robots.

But why not do what futurama did where its just a plain robot and then they overlay the identity overtop. Now granted we cant do that but with ar or vr goggles why not have a character model superimpose on a blank robot like joi and that hooker?

Maybe add hair and clothing of similar mesh so u can twirl ur girls hair or w.e. but beyond that it doesnt even need eyes and shit. Its all presented in vr goggles.

So question how long until a proto holodexk. Where i can create on demand a virtual 3d space like a white villa on a fruitger aero blue beach surrounded by ocean. With a cute emo blonde girl with eyeliner that then i can snuggle with, dance, pick up, and obv smash her puss.

Like 2 to 3 years?

Sisyphus was happy because even back in ancient Greece jackasses like you needed to come up with just-so arguments to try and convince guys who got the raw-end of the genetic lottery to keep working extra hard at the bottom of the pack instead of checking out and doing their own thing.
Society-lovers like you could make an effort to create outreach programs for guys who are at the end of their rope, or to get some sort of social-net in highschools to try and get weirdos more ingrained in society so they'd rather participate fully instead of gooning to AI slop after work, but that's hard and would require sanctimonious assholes to actually sacrifice what they want to do to go and work to make society better, so that's off the table.
Instead, the guys that society left behind will just continually get browbeaten while trying to escape the exact system that the people who fit in get so much pleasure from, because the thought that someone might be independently happy, instead of participating in the rat race -- which normies hate, but need to get status -- drives sanctimonious normies insane with seething rage.

"How dare you be happy online! I'm working overtime here to impress my boss!" The normie seethes.

There's a guy in one of Charles Dickens' books who's a big fat guy. He eats a big meal, and afterwards he leans back, totally satisfied, and can't imagine that there's anybody in the whole world who's not also feeling happy and satisfied.
Like NPCs, who don't have internal monologues, there's a class of people who are effectively lobotomized in such a way that they can't even imagine that life could either just not work out for some people, or that someone could have an issue that a weeks worth of hard work wouldn't overcome.

Should I get a PS/2 mouse and keyboard?

USB devices need USB drivers which bloats the OS, my new Gaming laptop AsusVivo book with N6000 level CPU with next gen intel gfx really sucks and trying to debloat it so games run properly.
>>
>>107852353
Last year I popped my motherboard or some shit with a powered USB hub. I connected one hub to another for a simracing setup. All of the USB ports got disabled and the only way I was able to get into my PC was with a PS/2 mouse.
>>
>>107856818
It's not so much about bloat. Any USB mouse or keyboard can work with the generic USB mouse and keyboard drivers that comes with the OS, but may need some additional driver and programs to use some features like key macros, on the fly DPI changing, or RGB lights. The same applies to PS/2 as well, though "enhanced" PS/2 devices aren't so common today.

The driver that PS/2 works around is the USB controller driver. USB has had several revisions and lots of different brand controllers that all need their own drivers, but every PS/2 port since the early 90s has interfaced with the CPU exactly the same way and works with the same driver that every OS already has built in.

The real use of this is if you're trying to install an OS, and the installer doesn't have a driver that can make your USB controller work. You have the driver ready, but without working input devices, you can't install the OS and then the driver. Add a PS/2 keyboard or mouse and you can, and then presumably switch over to your USB ones once they're working. That's why so many motherboards have a single PS/2 port that accepts either, and not 2 ports, and why so many people buy shitty cheapo PS/2 peripherals.

I thought I'd miss microsd cards, but I really don't. They were slow and you would never swap them, only use them permanently in the phone.
What I actually miss is being able to do anything without Google's or Apple's permission. Google's photo picker is unusable and you can't replace it. Everything is getting locked down
>>
>>107849362
>I tried to buy a replacement, but every "new" battery I found was almost a decade old and they all as useless as the original one or worse after being stored for so long
For popular devices, you can easily find a chinaman who's happy to tell you a new battery rated for more capacity than the original battery. But when you get it you notice it's suspiciously lightweight, unwrap it and find a much smaller lower capacity cell with some bits of plastic or foam around it to pad it out to the required size.

Valve will help Linux genuinely take over Windows over the next decade I think.
>>
>>107847504
No. OOTB experience was what Windows fans always held over the heads of Linux users as why nobody wants to use Linux. It took lots of technical knowledge and poking around to install it and make it work. Today it's less steps and faster to install Ubuntu or Mint on a new computer than it is to set up the Windows 11 the machine came preinstalled with.

Compared to installing a sane Windows like 7 fresh, Ubuntu only wins on speed because it starts installing in the background as soon as you okay the partitioning scheme, and then asks you things like your name while that happens. But in 11, Microsoft has wrecked the post-install experience with every imaginable type of enshittification as a poor cope for having gone with a rolling release so they can't sell you the next major version, and then making it essentially free.

Based, but the only real problem here is that there's no valid architectural reason that a line which retrieves a file's contents should create a blank file if it doesn't exist. You can just create the file elsewhere when you actually write to it, and if the file doesn't exist, return a blank table
So that particularly line should really look something like this:
local solutions = isfile(path) and HttpService:JsonDecode(readfile(path)) or {}
