repair iPhone 11 or buy 16e?
Hi /g/ this is my first time here, apologies if this is in the wrong thread. There is an Android app I like very much which is currently free to use but from reading dev blogs I think they are going to make it pay to use soon.Is there any way for me to save the app as-is as keep it as a free to use program separate from the dev version?
>>107718967I have a better idea
>>107718967>save the app as-is as keep it as a free to use programSure. Will it work the same? Maybe. Lots of apps query servers for info, it's not all handled on your phone. If your version is out of date it won't work. It depends what it is and how it works.

I know jack shit about computers, but I need a small, durable laptop for college. Ideally, it would have a long battery life, be lightweight, and survive at least five years. It's going to go through a lot of abuse, but I mostly just need it for the internet and a word processor. Maybe some light photo and video editing. Is there anything under $250 that isn't shit? Thanks

Remember RSS feeds? What was up with those? What were they for and who used them?
>>107719483Sorry I meant news feeds
What if RSS was used for user status updates and posts?
What else am i supposed to use, if not RSS?Everything became fake and gay with CoViD and every platform shoves kiked recommendations in my face, and then lies and claims that some magic allknowing algorithm did this.RSS is the only way to follow... anything... and filter it outright, without having to wade through propaganda.

Am I retarded or a genius? Gonna hook it up to an external monitor and unironically install Gentoo on it.
>>107709926>gonna hook it up to an external monitorYou'd have probably been better off getting a mini PC in that case, unless the power draw on that thing is insanely low (many mini PC's only draw a few watts anyawy)
I'm glad UMPCs have gone through a revival but I really wish China would make stuff in the OQO or UMID form factors and sizes, I want truly ultra mobile x86 computers with specs from this decade
>>107709926I have this laptop. It's OK. CPU performance is enough for web browsing, but not a whole lot more. GPU is basically just good for hardware video decode. When I first got it, Linux support was questionable. It took a fair amount of work to get the touchscreen working, and sound didn't work. But these days everything just works at least with newer versions of Ubuntu. Only other weird thing is that the mouse buttons are mapped to the numpad, so you will need to remap them. Battery life seems pretty good.I had the bearings go out in the fan after a couple months. So I just unplugged the fan and added some more thermal pads to utilize the metal case as heatsink and the thing stays perfectly cool (and a lot quieter too). The biggest problem with this device and probably all mini laptops is that the screen is just too small to easily use most applications with reasonable scaling. I don't need a laptop all that often, so I can live with it. But don't expect to do extended work on the laptop's built in screen. And there is no multifunction USB C port, so don't expect to be able to use a docking station either.
>>107712111I miss the 90s/early 00s retro-futuristic trends in Anime. Combo of then contemporary computer forms with big words like Internet, AI, holograms etc was kind of charming. Sadly it pretty much died a natural death.Corrector Yui, Rockman.exe, first Digimon etc were pretty much build around these aesthetics, but it was kind of everywhere during that era.
I've been looking for this but I haven't found it:>x86 tablet (no keyboard) for full compatibility with older software>8 to 9'' screen, or considerably small>Powerful enough for anything that isn't games>A digitizer (pen support)I think such a small size is retarded, but the person looking for it seems obsessed with the idea of having a device like this because 10'' is already too much to carry or something, I don't know. A tablet is specially unusable with Windows at that small screen size, I'm guessing that's one of the reasons pen support is requested.I found some devices like this but they were old and definitely not powerful. I found that a very powerful small device is the Lenovo Legion Go if you don't use the gamepads, but it doesn't have a digitizer. I found somewhat decent tablets with a digitizer (I guess the fucking Surface ones) but they're all too "big". You see where I'm going with this?
