I appreciate the input. I actually tried that first! I would rather a clean install. But in this unique case, I can't do a clean install. Without wasting your time with an explanation; basically that is impossible in this case. I must make a downgrade happen, hence being at the end of my rope, seeking advice from you folks.

Is there any cleaner way to create a bootable USB than Rufus in 2026?

If I wanted to incorporate Windows updates (KB5074109 specifically) into my ISO, how would I get the .cab file for it?

They can only jam in sporading conditions and only in specific areas. Keep the car moving and point it towards the other way and you get good signals again. But really that starlink blocking was only temporary, SpaceX restored the starlink back to ~80-90% success rate. The regime hit it hard during the first few hours and flooded the starlink channel bandwidth , then spacex opted for different tactics

Even without AGI, current AI progress will absolutely sink the value of human labour over the following decades. Everyday more tasks can be automated, more white collar work can be done by less people. New grads will have no reason to be hired other than the 10-15 years of investment turning them into the next seniors, and competition between this ever decreasing pool of jobs will only get fiercer.
How does the average person fare in this new world?

>value of human labor
nonsensical phrase. What decreases is the necessary human labor for the purposes of present production requirements.
>How does the average person fare in this new world
This is not a private problem. Either new markets emerge that leverage the AI-assisted human labor force, or wages start decreasing and commodity circulation falters, which leads to a generalized economic crisis. In the second case it's not the average person that fares poorly, it's most people. This is like capitalism 101.
>>
Ngl chatgpt kinda sucks now given how limited it is now and how expensive it is now. 2024 was better than it is now.
>>
>>107882377
It's not automation. It's much simpler. Supply and demand. There are too many people, so supply goes up. When supply is up, the price goes down.

Stop migration. Stop fighting "demographic crisis". (which is crisis for capitalists and a miracle for the people)

do you guys think trackers have a good incentive to leech? i feel like this is especially true for movie trackers because there are so many of them but a lot of torrents have more cross-seeder than genuine leecher seeding what they wanted to download. obviously cross-seeding is good for everyone but i feel like on a lot of trackers getting genuine upload is kind of hard. don‘t ask me what kind of system they should implement though i‘m just here to ask the question. but shouldn‘t trackers try compensating the low user count more by incentivizing leeching?
>>
>>107882289
Spotify has this feature where you can seamlessly switch between devices listening to music and even control the playback from another device while listening to it.
>>
>>107883963
>but shouldn‘t trackers try compensating the low user count more by incentivizing leeching?
What would be the benefit of doing that?
To put it in another way: Why is a low amount of leeching bad for the tracker?
>>
>>107884093
well, low leech = low upload for seeders and thus less buffer to download more

Yeah maybe with 939 but that was really supposed to be on NF4 and 754 was limited to some mediocre singlecores with single channel RAM.
Asrock made an NF3 board with a fucking AM3 socket.
Novidya just refused to ship an AGP GART driver for it, or even GPU drivers for Vista for some time. Fuck em.
>>107879407
They were shipping dual core PCs with 1GB back then. 1GB is a bare fucking minimum for NT 6 anything. RAM was rather expensive still at that point in time. By 2009, the same money would get you 4GB.

>Looked up what suits and those head things cost just out of curiosity and it's like $5k for a basic furry head. Full suits are like $30k.

How much does it cost to produce a full suit and how much time does it take?
>>
>>107883620
I put in anywhere between $1500 to $3500 in materials depending on the quality, complexity and how tech-heavy it is.
A basic suit is just like a halloween costume essentially, but a full build can have everything from built in fans, water supply (a bladder system), motorised eyes/mouth/ears, speakers, sound effects etc.
Time wise it's anything from a couple weeks for the most basic to 3-4 months for the serious ones. And price matches that. The most expensive one I made and sold went for $11 800 plus shipping.
But pricing depends on the creator. Everyone has their own sources for materials and so on.

And I often have 2-3 suits in the making at the same time since a lot of the basic crafting is the same.
>>
>>107883821
>>107880170
$11800-3500 (materials) = $8300 profit
$8300/(5 days per week x 4 weeks per month x 3 months to make = 60 days) = $138.34 per day, roughly
$138.34/8hrs per day = $17.30 per hour, roughly.
>I make more money on a single fursuit than I made working my old office job 8-10 hours per day for a month.
$8300 profit from above/20 work days a month = $415 per day
$415/8 hours = $51.88 per hour.
I would have stayed with the office.
>>
>>107884036
>$17:30 per hour

>>
>>107884036
Impressive autism.
Doesn't change the fact that I earn a lot more from making suits than I did working my old office job. Several times more.
>>107884130
This. I made $5:72/hour at my last job. Which is pretty average in my region.

I can understand that. I still dual boot for gaming and find myself using w10 IoT LTSC / enjoying it most of the time. I do think gnome's workflow is amazing and unmatched in the PC space for my personal work, but Linux is barely ready for desktop. I'd say it's best function currently is what it already is for most that aren't using it as a server- a steam deck type thing or a hobby. I mainly use Linux but that's a preference of enjoying tinkering and hating Microsoft.
>>
>>107880620
I've used Pop for years and have never had an issue. It's solid despite what the distro warriors and windows skills here say.
Your steam saves are cloud based. For games that use local saves you should back them up on a thumb drive.
Once you install you'll not need to do much at all to start gaming again.
One thing you'll want to install is ProtonQT to get older versions of Proton for games that need it.
Otherwise, as I said, it's a solid plug and play distro.
