Been working on a hybrid collection of single-purpose devices to replace my computer and smart phone, to this end I've been doing experimentation on a number of different types of computer replacements, RPi 2W0, ESP32, arduino
the plan is to have a set of homemade devices to perform specific tasks and not one thing more than that.
for music an ESP32 mp3 player for mobile and a dedicated CD player for home
for a computer a RPi built into a portable DVD player with a keyboard I actually like and a custom linux from scratch implementation that runs faster than tar in antarctica
retro gaming emulation is bullshit, I have the old console and I'm modding them
a lovely e-reader, either build from an ESP32 or a repurposed kobo
for phone calls I'm going to turn an ESP32 into a cell phone (so I control the software) with a sim card module that has a physical switch, so when I'm not using it or don't want calls I can literally just cut it off. I'm going to build this into an old-fashioned home phone with a receiver and buttons and everything
for home development I'm going to build a special purpose machine with an insane number of GPIO and multiple forms of connectivity

the piece of resistance is the pip-boy style cyberdeck, it's going to be slim, wrist mounted, and not make me look like a unibomber. I intend for people to see it and think "oh a smart watch"

how to wipe a drive in a way that is truly unrecoverable?

fellas, It brings me great joy to tell you all that I've finally gotten over my lifelong crossdressing fetish. My 10+ years of pics have already been rounded up and deleted, and the recycle bin has been emptied. now I just need a method of disk cleaning capable of scrambling the magnets inside enough to properly dispose of the "evidence."

I wouldn't have been so paranoid about this before in the past but I was reading about this whole incident here the other day thinking "yeah, I'd probably kill myself if something like this happened to me" so I really wanna do this to finally have that peace of mind and be done with it.

What options for other OS exist? Maybe they have cross platform versions that work on Windows too?
>>
>>108507909
Steam OS comes to mind and it has Big Picture but no option to automatically import games from other sources
>>
>>108507917
Big Picture might pretty much be the best you can get for what you want? I also hear of one called Pegasus Launcher?
>>
>>108506147
try "repair your installation" from a windows installer, if that doesn't work you'll need to use bcdboot and/or bcdedit to repair the bcd store of the offline installation. an llm can help you understand these utilities, just make it clear you're doing this versus an offline os from a windows installer environment and verify any commands it gives you by checking actual documentation with /?

Perhaps it is something they hoped they can ship so that random people would jump on the hype train before realising limitations. Or maybe it was an attempt to shit that purely to enterprise environment. Idk, but it was very meh. One of the most meh and mid pieces of software so far. I am checking the code from the GitHub repositories with the allegedly leaked source code and one thing I found is that the package.json files have the removed from the dependencies the program uses. There references inside the source code however, that can be used to reconstruct the thing.

Remember, this source code is for the Anthropic client, the novelty was try to understand how Anthropic understand MCP clients.

However if Operation Capy is real (I don't know if it is) and Anthropoid calculated the leak, they could easily create a "clean room" source code for the client so we can be looking a permutation of the original code but not the original code itself. Some kind of fugazi source. Not a forgery, because the code works and do the same, but would not be the real thing Anthro uses.

I will keep looking into this.

I'm a sales guy at my company, and our tech team usually takes months to ship features.
So earlier this week I tried this little fucker here, and holy fuck I had the new feature my client has been asking for since months running in an hour.

I immediately showed the customer a demo, and with them being very satisfied asked my boss how the fuck this is possible and why we're paying tech guys so much money for not doing anything. Apparently several senior devs are going to have a "townhall" tomorrow, if you catch my drift. Meanwhile my bonus package for the month looks pretty good.

Fuck you arrogant """""engineer""""" shitheads, it's always been THIS fucking easy and you were just lazy and arrogant. Get ready to get out of your fat greasy autistic comfort zone, it's time to get a real job.

I'm a cleaning lady at our company, and our sales guys usually take days, sometimes weeks, to give customers the features they request. I tap into cleaning lady network (internal and external) and I vibe code solutions before our customers even call our sales department. Management has already fired the entire tech team and there are talks of firing the sales team as well.

I'm still using that craptop. The itch I feel to upgrade is stronger than ever, but I'm going wait this out until the benchmarks release for the next flagships. Which will most likely happen in the span of 2028 based on the most recent rumors regarding the 6000 series release date. If the price doesn't justify the performance I will consider a cheaper build or just ditch this idea for something less expensive. That's why CI/CD Security operations are for.
The axios RAT was discovered because a popular CI/CD sensor tripwire went off at the same time in every pipeline consuming it.

That's the price of war, you need to invest time in building security controls instead of building something that solves a more general solution.

In fact Open Source helps to detect instrusive elements because transparency in the consumption process.

I hope that these Linux distro maintainers realize that this age verification could get them in trouble with GDPR. They ARE collecting personal data that isn't necessary for operating the OS. Perhaps it is necessary in some US states, but it's not necessary in the EU, which makes the "legal compliance" defense difficult.

#define __NR_sigaltstack        131

https://man7.org/linux/man-pages/man2/sigaltstack.2.html

tl;dr:
manage an alternative signal stack

pretty much there just to let you handle SIGSEGVs from stack overflows.
i always read this syscall as "sigal stack", like the manpages are baby talking at me lol. for that reason, i rather like it, but it's got a pretty niche use case. have any of you anons ever had occasion to use it before?

Old YouTube gave people like him and others like Vertasium a platform to perfect their art but I fear YT has been so sterilised and censored that it'll no longer be the case.
