>e-celebs getting gifted expensive toys to play with and serving only themselves, instead of using their influence to serve the community with news, guides, and useful data
No one cares about your god damn $30k Mac Mini AI cluster. It's so far removed from anything that anyone in the real world is interested in or can afford, to a point of being genuinely alienating (a large part of why Serve the Home is also basically worthless now).

At least the Linus tech tip guy, in between writing off his smart home upgrades as business expenses, will occasionally upload something other than self-congratulatory unboxing videos; the redheaded stepchild, meanwhile, broke away from Linus et al. under the guise of wanting to break out and make his own channel with blackjack and hookers, and then he immediately began prostituting himself to Apple and Ubiquiti.

YouTube is filled with this bullshit, and it's so tiring to wade through if you're in the unfortunate position to be looking for unbiased information.

they uploaded their videos shilling the same product within 2 minutes of each other.

not only is their content not organic but even their timing isnt either. it's not like they can take their time and really explore it in their own way. they're on a tight schedule. like any other job. need those TPA reports by 3pm. or a prostitute serving a conveyor belt of clients. in and out of her boudoir within 15 mins max, preferably 10. same with doctors speedrunning through patients, 15 min hard limit, preferably 10 or even 5. wham bam take the meds trust the science thank you maam, next. that's how you know the videos are going to be soulless, when theyre on that strict of a timetable. you know there is zero passion behind it, only a requirement to maintain a FACADE of passion in order to keep tricking the dumb marks watching in order to keep making youtube, overt sponsorship, and under-the-table shekels.
>>
>>107601219
It's more like Apple gives them a date before which they can't publish it. Being late isn't as big of a problem, but their own interest is that their video gets as many view as possible, if you're late to the party, well...
>>
>>107601219
Do you know what an NDA is, it means they can't release their marketing shill videos until apple says they can. They sign one when they get the product.
any youtuber that has EVER received a free product has done this. This is standard practice and it shows how much of a 'first time' this is for you.

So i have a very weird problem in my computer
If i dont unplug it or turn the power supply switch off when i try to start the computer it only starts on VGA mode or some low resolution like that. from the start, the post is already 4:3
It is the power supply? its the older part of the system, what the hell could it be?
everything works properly if i leave unpluged from one day to the other

If you include the standard I/O library, C is Turing complete.

However, freestanding C without the standard library is only PDA-complete.

Why did monitor tech get so bad in the past 5 years? I wanted to treat myself and consoom a little and it's just companies selling OLED slop or overpriced IPS. MiniLED are sparse and are all chinkshit and almost as expensive as a decent OLED.

>So it's either, pay $200-$300 for old inferior but functional IPS tech
>$400-$500 for MiniLED and deal with haloing, IPS glow or VA smearing
>$500-$1000 for OLED and deal with burn in, text fringing and flickering

I find it strange that I never see anyone advocating for systemd to be re-written in Rust.

It's the obvious place to start using a safe language in Linux userspace. Since PID1 spawns everything else and is the most important PID in userspace.

Unlike kernel modules you don't need to use unsafe code anywhere to implement the init and service manager. So theoretically everything in PID1 should be doable in "safe" code. Meaning everything spawned by it would also be much safer.

They should at least be re-writing certain parts of the systemd src tree by now like udev and everything to do with PAM/polkit. The init part should have been done years ago.

I find it very strange that the same big tech companies pushing Rust so hard lately never make a peep about what's running as PID1.

polkit has always been so retarded. Its entire reason for existing is because gksudo was deemed insecure. A small application that did nothing but launch a GUI to prompt for password whenever sudo was needed to launch something that required elevated privileges. Something you could easily implement in a few lines of code that was easy to audit.

Instead it was replaced by a daemon running as root at all times, launched by another daemon running as root at all times, that talks to other daemons running as root at all times over a insecure channel in userspace. All of that to avoid typing a password into a small prompt. gksudo was so good at what it did that it was forcefully removed from every last major distro's repos so you can't even run it even if you want to. You have to go out of your way to track it down and package it yourself.

They have the gall to call something like Xorg a possible exploit when they have millions of lines of shit like logind running as root all of the time.

Looking around you can apparently start Magician via command line and add a --no-sandbox or --disable-gpu-sandbox flag at the end to fix it loading forever according to some. It may also not be in the PATH properly, so check that too.

A method for identifying internet users based on their typing style, known as "keyboard signature," is being developed in Russia. The project is being implemented by the Ural State Law University with a grant from the Russian Science Foundation, the university's press service told Uralinformburo. They explained that this is a "legally significant expert method" for law enforcement agencies, which will allow for the identification of the author of a text in cases where traditional digital data, such as an IP address or account, is impossible. The university added that the method is primarily aimed at investigating cases involving the dissemination of extremist materials and "fake news," as well as identifying the authors of anonymous threats and creators of forged documents.

The developer claims that "keyboard signature" is unique to each person "like a fingerprint." The proposed method is based on the analysis of dozens of biometric and behavioral parameters: typing rhythm, keystroke duration, time intervals between keystrokes, error correction patterns, typical typos, and the choice of spellings of "e" or "ё." According to the developer, these characteristics are preserved even when editing text that has already been typed. A special program is used to collect this data, recording every keystroke with millisecond accuracy. The resulting information is processed using preset formulas, creating a "digital portrait" of the user.

Sometimes I'll use American spelling, sometimes I will British spelling.
Sometimes I will use punctuation, capitals and fullstops, sometimes I will type like an idiot.
It's easy to mix it up once you get into the habit.

Ah, you missed out on the kino age of CS custom servers. 2006-2013. Second age was 2014-2019, third age was on CSGO between 2018-2024.
All sorts of themed maps like Lord of the Rings, Final Fantasy.. Really anything you can imagine, somebody had made it.
Heck there was even an attempt at a Battlefield mod. Other cool stuff like Alien vs Predator. Zombies was kino though. Still a few servers on CS:S but that game mode turned from zombies into minigames with zombies on the side.
>>
>>107598151
Yeah it's one of those things that is hard to quantify. There are so many factors that go into a games popularity at any given time.
Maybe CS2 release was mistimed and killed some of the momentum that csgo had, being a somewhat undercooked and underwhelming update.
And maybe they could have worked on it longer to iron out the gameplay issues.
If it were up to me I also would have released the game with an entirely new roster in the active map pool, or at least majority new maps with 2 or 3 staples kept in. I understand this would really annoy competitive players and basically ruin high level competitive play. But it would have actually given a reason for more casual players like myself to jump back in and spend more time in the game. I don't really give a fuck about the graphical improvements of CS2 over csgo. New competitive maps, as unbalanced as they would inevitably be, would have created some excitement to accompany the release of what is otherwise just a minor graphical enhancement. And it would have been fun watching the pro teams devise and execute new strategies rather than just seeing the same rounds play out again and again on maps that have been played for years at this point.
Would have made the first competitive season of CS2 one for the history books even if they then quickly swapped back in the tried and tested map pool.
Instead the CS2 release was just kinda boring. A blink and you'd miss it kinda thing. And the game itself has no real identity seperate to csgo. You only release a new CS very rarely, not something yearly like cod, so it was a missed opportunity to do something exciting and memorable, even at the expense of one CS Major that was unbalanced and unfair.
And yeah cause of the slower advancement in graphics CS2 will probably be around for 15+ years and just like csgo will look very different by the end.
