The press needs to stop covering events using their fucking iPhones, or any other camera that uses AI up-scaling. I've seen too many stupid conspiracies popping up because the AI up-scaling is fucking up the footage and photos. This has been a known issue for years now and it's only going to get worse now that everyone is starting to look for common mistakes in AI video to look for shit that is fake and gay for the sake of psy-ops. At this point if they keep using AI up-scaled footage it'll be impossible to ever figure out what's real.At this point off the top of my head I'm pretty sure the Kamala plane no crowd reflection photo, the Charlie Kirk assassination ring video and now the Benjamin Netanyahu six finger video, have all been the fault of iPhone up-scaling, and I'm getting tired of nobody knowing about this or pointing it out. The more these hardware manufactures rely on AI up-scaling to make up for shitty lenses and cut costs the worse this problem will get too.
>>108388306Not an issue on my Sony Xperia phoneStill got headphone jack, SD slot and full screen with bezels. If only GrapheneOS was compatible it would be the almost perfect phone, only issue is lack of removable battery
>>108388306Are we just sandbagging the fact that at best AI is immediately going over pictures the second you take them, and at worst just scraping all visual data when the camera is active???
>>108396080Enjoy.
>>108388306>AI upscaling is making everything look fakeBuy a Canon IXUS70 or any digital camera from the 00s for that matter and you will realise how fake and gay smart phone cameras are. The post-processing makes everything look synthetic.
>>108411914Now you can see the difference. The phone auto exposes and makes surface details visible on the moon. Then after the photo is taken, AI slop processing takes place.

>>108408489Perl modules shipped with the distro are of sufficient freshness and quality to suit whatever purpose the distro needs them for. The same goes for the Perl version and build flags. You should not be using the distro builds of stuff for your own projects unless you're a developer for said distro (which 99% of developers aren't). They are not intended for your projects. The distro will not consult you when they decide to ship a new, incompatible library (or module, or interpreter) in a future version, and your shit will break horribly. They will not ask your permission to remove a module from their repos. It doesn't matter if you program in C or Perl or Python. The distro does not build libraries for you, never has and never will.If you publish your projects for others, they WILL be using different OS versions with different sets of libraries. Your shit shouldn't break just because their DISTRO uses a different Perl for its own internal purposes. You should either bundle Perl with your project, or require a specific Perl build as a dependency, or test and validate your project against that specific build on that distro and whitelist it.Many developers don't understand this basic principle and then blame Perl (or Python, or OpenSSL) when it doesn't suit their project, despite their own misconceptions having caused the issue.
is IBM a good place to apply for tech jobs in the current AI climate?

>>108410482>I really appreciate those boomers and try to learn as much as I can from them whenever I get the chance, I know one day they'll all be gone and things are going to SUCK and FUCK even more.Completely agree about learning from the remaining gems of that generation left but we have to make something else that doesn't suck, what that looks like I don't know but probably involves some evolution of silicon valley plus open source culture plus whatever political vibe we need to ride at the moment.tl;dr evolve to retvrn
>>108409667>>108410072Huh, this thread was the last thing I read before going to sleep, and I ended up dreaming that AI had kidnapped me, injected me with something and was keeping me in some sort of testing facility. Then I was running through the streets of some place in India while hordes of Indians either stared or chased me. I was trying to call an Uber, and the driver was Indian too, which I thought ironic.
>>108410482Most of the ones that are left have no clue about the current state of thibgs and all they can tell you are old battle stories. Things already sneed and feed as hard as rhey can.
I work there as a software dev. If you're a new hire there in this day and age, you should be able to get a few years of stable employment at IBM at the minimum. Work life balance is good and IBM tech stack is not necessarily boomer or outdated.

Tell me that the tech job market will get better, that in a few years things will get better, that there will be hope of finding a job when I graduate with a CS degree. You must tell me that things will get better and that hope lives.
all tech jobs wil be minimum wage. if you pass an Indian on the street you should shake his hand for enriching the job market with a healthy oversupply of talent.
