What tweaks/tools/apps do you use to make it suck less?
>>108566084This elusive "real work" that people keep referencing. All I can imagine is that you mean Visual Studio IDE jockying or Microsoft Office stuff. Microsoft had to embed a gimped Linux inside itself with WSL just to get Docker working. Virtualization just sucks on Windows. There isn't some great a Windows selling point like how FreeBSD has jails, bhyvie, zfs on root. The only advantage Windows has is more corporate software, it being preinstalled on new computers, and inertia. Not to mention forced updates. You can turn off multiple different services in the registry and it'll still slowly undo those changes, as of turning off the Updater and the Doctor for the updator wasn't enough. I also dislike how installing applications that are basically spyware is way more acceptable on Windows and even the norm.

Over the past few days I've been going through the various music players on linux and noticed some sound worse than others. Strawberry seems to be the most recommended but it sounds worse to me than audacious does, and I'm pretty sure it's not placebo. Can any loonix audiophiles chime in? It's not something I'm super anal about but I'm curious about what most people here use assuming you've compared it with the other options.

Reposting here: https://sourceforge.net/p/veracrypt/discussion/general/thread/9620d7a4b3/---Hi everyone,I want to share an update following my absence over the past few months.I have encountered some challenges but the most serious one is that Microsoft terminated the account I have used for years to sign Windows drivers and the bootloader. You can see below a screenshot of the message shown when I tried to sign in.Microsoft did not send me any emails or prior warnings. I have received no explanation for the termination and their message indicates that no appeal is possible.I have tried to contact Microsoft through various channels but I have only received automated replies and bots. I was unable to reach a human. This termination impacts my work beyond VeraCrypt and has consequences for my daily job.Currently I'm out of options.Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.

It’s because of the BlackLotus vulnerability and the 2011 Secure Boot DBX key that will be deprecated in July 2026. They aren't targeting VeraCrypt deliberately. You lot have posted over 100 shitposts with zero actual knowledge, which is honestly pathetic. That French baguettehead should have known better, considering this security issue has been public for three years. Microsoft has been screaming enterprise mitigation since 2023. Imagine writing encryption software for Windows and having no clue that your signed binaries and dependencies rely on an ancient Secure Boot key.Further reading: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-to-manage-the-windows-boot-manager-revocations-for-secure-boot-changes-associated-with-cve-2023-24932-41a975df-beb2-40c1-99a3-b3ff139f832dhttps://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/enterprise-deployment-guidance-for-cve-2023-24932-88b8f034-20b7-4a45-80cb-c6049b0f9967Notify that retard about this. Are there any parts of self hosting or running your own server at home that seem insurmountable? I can answer any questions you have. Everyone should have a home.arpa or home domain they can access
>>108566686Whats the benefit does home.arpa have? I can just use hostnames locally
>>108567810Correct way of doing things? You can also make your devices got your server when they knock 1.1.1.1. or example.com etc. But that technically is wrong. Nobody is stopping you though. Also turns out there's more to home networking that one would think: https://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc7788.html

It's incredible that no other company can make a mouse with a ring finger button. Even Logitech lost the knowledge to make it. Not even 1 chink knockoff after all these years. There are a billion gayming peripheral chinese companies now and not ONE has unlocked the technology to add a ring finger button to their mice and make some decent software macro software for it.
>>108556985I bought this mouse in like 2018 and loved it so much I bought a second one a couple years later. The second one had the same shape but was otherwise inferior in every way. The feel was cheap and janky, the buttons were soft and spongey instead of crisp and tactile like the first one, even the cord was changed to some lower quality version. Even if you could get it, you can't really get it anymore.

>>108556985Designers are faggots in general. Nobody asked them for a second right click button. But they should've solved the middle click problem in a similar way. Also why is there no more side scrolling wheel? What happened, does it cost a hundred dollars to have it? Or are web devs suddenly not retarded so nobody needs that? Certainly no that, as horizontal scroll is still a thing. But they don't do anything about it. Or idk, maybe they just don't hire designers anymore?
Is neovim a meme? There are so many plugins and keymaps available, so much customization and FOMO of not having the best of the best plugins remaps… I can’t take it bros.
>>108566322And I forgot to add that vi/nvi is stable as a rock, so you won't get all of your config destroyed because some fag maintainer decided to rename a function for the 3rd time this week for no reason.
>>108566236i never said anything about coding. a lot of sysadmins have to use vim or nano. you can always fuse mount the server, but it's impractical and slow. besides tools like vscode tend to shit the bed with features like autosave when the file is mounted via network
>>108558787>keymapsdon't really understand your issue, I have defined all the keybinds myself
Better off skipping the neovim meme and just use emacs
>>108566322>You should just take the vi pill, meme. If you're going down the terminal route, might as well use something modern worth the time, i.e. neo(vim) or helix.
I was trying to bring my oneplus nord from /e/os back to stock rom, trying to boot twrp. the only thing that shows on the screen now is a message in chinese and english that says "the current image (boot/recovery) have been destroyed and can not boot. please flash the correct image or contact customer service to fix it". fastboot shows not connected. is there anything that can be done?
