Over the past few days I've been going through the various music players on linux and noticed some sound worse than others. Strawberry seems to be the most recommended but it sounds worse to me than audacious does, and I'm pretty sure it's not placebo.
Can any loonix audiophiles chime in? It's not something I'm super anal about but I'm curious about what most people here use assuming you've compared it with the other options.

I just call mpv from a command line or from a python script that assembles a playlist.
>>
It doesn't matter what music player I use. I've tried Rhythmbox, Fooyin, Strawberry, Audacious, musikcube, and cmus. It doesn't help that audio is quieter on my laptop due to the fact that on Windows it has to install a Realtek audio driver. What's worse is listening to CD rips of old albums from 80s-90s, so its even more quiet. Strawberry is decent but its a little annoying to configure. For one if I add a song to queue to play next, it appends the song to the playlist but after the song plays, the playlist ends. It can easily be fixed by enabling repeat but still odd behavior. I feel deaf using Linux and its the only area where I've had issues with it. Everything else is great though.

music players are kind of all the same in functionality right? i seriously doubt the sound quality can change that much. so many players are mpd front ends, and if it plays the tune and you can sort and make playlists it's basically complete
if you're the ricing faggot type like I am you can get rmpc looking swanky so that's what I use. to me it sounds and looks great. what's not to love

I just stole a m4 base model mac mini from a car dealership I work at. I was thinking about replacing my GMKTec Nucbox for my tiny lil media server, but looking into it it seems like MacOS is dog shit for things like that.
I'm really struggling to figure out what I can even do with this outside of finally learning how to make iOS apps which I really don't have any desire to do. I have it hooked up on my bed monitor, I figured since I mainly use it in bed with my iPad and iPhone I could control it and it'd all be a seamless ecosystem, but it's fucking annoying, connecting the monitor to my desktop and using KDE Connect is a better way of controlling the screen than the built in Apple remote desktop.
I seriously cannot think of a use case for this. Should I just sell it?

Enjoy the jail time and never being able to find a decent job again. Hope it was worth it.
>>
>>108568835
First of all, if you want to keep it, you never connect it to web. You can't sell it that way, but it's at least usable for you personally. Later you may be able to setup some proxy and give that proxy only to specific apps you wanna have access to internet. Not to the system.
Also forget about updates and downloading stuff from official store. You maybe can use brew. But lately Apple been doing some stupid shit requiting devs to ID themselves, so some software currently does not work at all. Not that your Mac's stolen satus have any effect on it.
>>108568971
This. I'm not sure if OP can handle it, maybe he should sell it indeed. Unless he does it in a way that makes it easy to trace it back to him...

Parts list and example circuit are in the description, including pdfs.
However, you can just design your own, especially if you already have a decent amp and don't need a USB connection.

Oh and before you're confused or think that his project is too complex: Just don't copy all his shit. Watch it, listen to the reasons for the steps (shock absorption, shielding, interference) and then decide if you need that. 70% of the project is the housing, so just skip that and put it in another cheaper mic housing or make your own and you can skip all that effort. Another 20% is due to the amp circuit, so if you have an interface or similar you can skip that part too.

>Japan’s Minister for Digital Transformation Hisashi Matsumoto has declared the nation will become the easiest place in the world to develop AI apps, thanks to legal changes that mean organizations won’t need to secure consent to use some personal information.
>To make that happen, Japan’s government on Tuesday approved amendments to the nation’s Personal Information Protection Act that remove the requirement for opt-in consent before sharing personal data.
>The changes only apply to data that poses little risk of infringing individuals’ rights, and when developers use it to compile statistics for research purposes. Even health-related data comes under the amendments, if it can improve public health.
>Facial scans are also fair game. The amendments require those who acquire facial images to explain how they handle the data, but offering a chance to opt out won’t be mandatory.
>Collecting the image of a child aged under 16 will require parental approval, a “best interests” test will apply when considering use of data that describes minors.
>But in the event of a data leak, organizations will not need to notify impacted citizens if there is little risk of harm to individuals.

No, deepseek is the most reliable model I have found. It is also free, allows you to fully run locally if you have the compute power, and allows you to block sharing convo if you are running the online model. I am not insane so I do not get my history nor news from AI sources, so I do not have to worry about the whinnie the pooh censorship, although you can repeal that too with the local model.

Japan is in a desperate financial situation, so they are trying this, which is stupid, because stuff like deepseek proves you can spend insane amounts of money on AI and then some dude takes your work and makes it worthless.

nVidia drivers are shit on Linux because they're made by nVidia themselves, so half the shit performs worse or outright doesn't work. Compare this to MESA which is so good that older GPUs perform better on Linux than Windows since they don't rely on AMD or Intel for driver maintenance or improvement.

Downscaling ×4 (2160p to 1080p, 2880p to 1440p or 4320p to 2160p) is the best antialiasing, too bad is extremely expensive. MSAA is the second best.
