How is RedoxOS coming along? It'd be nice to have a usable microkernel operating system.

cloud gaming will become extremely popular if this rumour end up being true

They already send the gpus without vram to the card manufacturers lel. In few years latest drivers will be paid sub

>cloud gaming will become extremely popular if this rumour end up being true

What if ... hear me out ... people will actually start playing their backlogs and discover cool shit they can play with current / older hardware?

I don't see anything on the horizon that's worth paying that much for a GPU.
I don't see anything on the horizon that's worth playing video games with unskippable ad breaks, on hardware I do not own, with horrible input lag.

Have you ever considered the possibility that some day normal consumer won't be able to afford a computer anymore?
With GPU and RAM price increases, this nightmare scenario seems likely.

Wireless Internet connections might also get so full of traffic that one day fast Internet will be a luxury as well.

1. Give people cheap tech so they get dependent on it.
2. When they're addicted, start ramping up the price + scarcity
3. Win

Me? I'm already learning ways to survive without technology. In a few years you might have to live without tech.

I wouldnt pay 5k for a computer. I simply wouldn't.
All I do is browse the Internet and play old games.

Yeah, it'll be the year the Linux desktop becomes the go-to for music production. A next-gen DAW will be released that treats Linux as a first class citizen and everyone will get on it.

will wearable monitors be a thing starting with the steam frame?
20 replies omitted. Click here to view.

>>107734616
not a chance. taking into account VR distortions the Steam Frame will be like having two 1080p monitors very close to your eyes. text looks like ass and if you arent a VR veteran you'll get tired and uncomfy with wearing it within an hour.

Pixmax have a better model than that, the pixmax crystal super. the resolution is 7680 x 3840.
>>
>>107734616
Fixed focal basically makes this useless for any text reading/writing usage.
You will have to put the screen in the absolute sweet spot to have the sharpest text, and any movement will make it blurry, or you need to make it fuckhuge.
I keep spamming it, but varifocal is a mandatory major tech unlock.
>>
>>107739043
>No, that's just propaganda from the HDMI forum trying to keep their stranglehold on the market as the large flat panel TV (and thus their core income source for HDMI sloppa) goes obsolete due to space and electricity concerns, as well as a shift to more individualized media consumption. The resolution is good enough to replace most common monitors that aren't enthusiast high resolution displays.
It's not going to replace a 1080p monitor anytime soon.
Propaganda? You can probably do the math yourself.

If you are actually employed vscodium is better as a general coding app with all the bells and whistles for a programmer with no tinkering.

A simple text editor that just werks on linooox though for editing config files and is like notepad? Micro mogs the fuck out of nano and vim.

I want to copy all ctr+a ctrl+c done
>>
Also to add theres two types of "coders"

People who just want to code a full program or game written in a language in that case you're better off using a full IDE with the autocomplete shit and project browser.

If you are just a linoox poweruser, you dont need more than micro. Nano is pure garbage.

i was bored and installed this to have talking points against shillers, but i can't stop using it.

> no need to git stash

besides that, it actually makes using the cli a fun experience. why should anyone still use git?

my younger sister who's much more intelligent than I am just got a job working in London as a barrister for a big law firm and was telling me over Christmas how 90% of the people she works with are Jews who are super anal about charging their clients the maximum fee every time but apparently live like hobos in their spare time. sounds like a lot of them just live and die to work which is great if you need a Jew lawyer but to me it sounds like a pretty sad life.

i would still go for something smaller for IEMs, and maybe that xduoo as portable amplifier for harder to drive planars (i think it can drive almost every headphone on the planet), can not imagine holding it in hand to switch songs ect. But you do you, it is one of the best DAPs on market, it's just too big for me even for desktop use, rather have smaller dap conected via usb or 3,5 to xduoo xd05 pro or simillar portable AMP
>>
>>107737829
i bought M21 for like 250USD few days ago, i think it's more than enough for portable music player (i even thought about non android based DAPs but streaming, global EQ and somewhat fast SOC are hard to beat in value)
