God, I could see that happening. License keys aren't the racket they could be, and they've pulled enough shit into cloud subscriptions, so I could totally see them pushing for the home computer to become a thin client on basically any device and Windows the basic subscription that goes with it, advertising some bullshit like how you don't have to worry about your hardware getting too old or your Windows getting too out of date or virus infected because your subscription is for something you don't have to maintain yourself. Additional subscriptions could exist for Office and Game Pass, I'm sure with the end goal of becoming the central platform for SaaS versions of all the lame shit you pirate if you're not a sucker. It's the most Indian corporate future imaginable.

AFAIK that was an upstream thing from Mozilla that LibreWolf forgot to patch out. LibreWolf replaces all strings containing "Firefox", so the "LibreWolf AI" screenshot makes it look like it's a feature they added themselves, even when it isn't

4-8TB drives are all SMR now.

>My concern is connection issues to the bay and data loss because of it.
As long as it is a relatively short cable, you shouldn't have problems. Only time I had problems with my external USB3 HDD connectors was when I used a 3 meter long cable. Shorter cables worked fine.

Configuring OPNSense loosely with this net diagram, and I have a question about VLANs as I'm currently configuring my interfaces and firewall.

The router I have in AP mode IOT act as a wireless AP and also a simple switch. Is there a way to tie either by MAC address, or by specific Wireless Band, which traffic goes to which VLAN?
>>

>4-8TB drives are all SMR now.
Damn, at what range am I safe?
>>
>>107606360
It shouldn't be writing anything generally- I very rarely access the drive through explorer, and backups that write to the drive only happen once a week. Ideally nothing else should be accessing the drive outside of that.
It's already a 5400RPM HDD, so I'm not worried about making it any slower.

I've been using Icecat for a while (I use Arch BTW), but the guy who provided the binaries got turbo cancer or something, so the icecat-bin package from the AUR has been out of date for a while, and I'm not going to compile it myself. I know this is asked often but should I switch to Ungoogled Chromium?
>Why not use regular Firefox?
Because I don't like the direction it's taking, so might as well choose the lesser evil. This isn't necessarily because of muh AI, but Mozilla itself doesn't seem to care about their browser anymore, even if they claim it's still their flagship product.
>Just use a fork
I've been considering it as well, but then I'd be still using Firefox, so refer to the previous point.

So my question is, how does UC compare to FF in terms of security and privacy? I use arkenfox with my Icecat profile, can you "harden" UC to a similar level? As for content blocking, you can still use uBO with UC, so that's the least of my concerns (lion shills gtfo).
https://github.com/r58Playz/uBlock-mv3
So for those of you who use UC, how is it? What's your general experience with it? And for the other 2 guys in the entire board using Icecat as well, will you keep on using it?

Use Trisquel's Abrowser, it's basically GNU IceCat with no extensions and it's based on main firefox instead of firefox-esr

Since you're on arch, I would recommend creating an ubuntu or a debian container then running this script i wrote:
https://pastebin.com/vWyBaEyq
After running this, you should have the trisquel repository and then simply install abrowser with "sudo apt install abrowser"
>>
>>107604566
>arch doesn't have icecat in its repos
kek what a shitty distro. just install the guix package manager and install icecat that way
>>
If you want a Firefox fork:
Mullvad browser
Librewolf
Abrowser
Ironfox

If you want a chromium fork:
Ungoogled chromium
Brave
Cromite
Vanadium
Trivalent

Browsers not based on either won't work for most people.

I have a subjective feeling that boomers are more favorable toward AI than the younger generation. Why is that? It has always been the other way around: the younger generation loves new technologies, while the older generation fears them.

I've had trouble getting games to install inside of wine front ends, do you have any advice? tried a fitgirl repack, couldn't get past the installer without errors

as far as viruses, can't someone just create a windows VM and play the game like that?
>>
>>107604080
It's always been that way. To get good stuff you have to be in the scene.
>>

sorry, that only counts for proprietary apps.
>>107605143
>do you have any advice?
>Faugus
Get Faugus Launcher, Flatpak is fine. You can install it via your AppStore. Just add your repack setup exe to Faugus and install your game. After the installation, just go to Faugus, remove the install.exe and replace it with your installed game exe. Done. If you want to use MangoHud (performance overlay) make sure to activate it in the faugus settings and install MangoHud via flatpak (flatpak install mangohud 21-25)
-
You can also add installers as non steam game or use bottles there are guides on youtube, but I'd just stick to Faugus, avoid Lutris for quacked games, it's outdated and the devs works on other projects now.
