Why do American plugs look so surprised, Israeli plugs so angry, and Denmarkian/Greenlandish plugs so happy?

It’s rare. And getting rarer.
When you have older, metal housing devices without double insulation.
By and large, the electrical system in JP has done away with the extra grounding.

i wasnt talking about getting blender running, esl-kun. i was talking about getting my graphics tablet working correctly with it, as in getting the pressure sensitivity working. i posted that because historically thats always been an issue that now looks to be resolved

its a pita desu, you have to use csp v2.0 or older if you want everything working right. every newer version switched to using the edge webview which is just a crapshoot to get working with wine. once you actually get it installed and launchable though the actual painting part seems to work fine.
ive heard that paint tool sai 2 actually works pretty well though so im trying that next

READ THE (temp)WIKI! & help by contributing:
https://igwiki.lyci.de/wiki/Home_server

/hsg/ is about learning and expanding your horizons. Know all about NAS? Learn virtualization. Spun up some VMs? Learn about networking by standing up a OPNsense/PFsense box and configuring some VLANs. There's always more to learn and chances to grow. Think you’re god-tier already? Setup OpenStack and report back.

>What software should I run?
Install Gentoo. Or whatever flavor of *nix is best for the job or most comfy for you. Jellyfin/Emby/Plex to replace Netflix, Nextcloud to replace Googlel, Ampache/Navidrome to replace Spotify, the list goes on. Look at the awesome self-hosted list and ask.

>Why should I have a home server?
De-botnet your life. Learn something new. Serving applications to yourself, your family, and your frens feels good. Put your tech skills to good use for yourself and those close to you. Store their data with proper availability redundancy and backups and serve it back to them with a /comfy/ easy to use interface.

>What kind of retarded ISP engineer would install the ONT in the basement without giving any consideration to where the router/AP would go?
It's not the ISPs responsibility what happens in your house, if their cable terminates in the basement, that's where they put their shit.
Do you want them to run ethernet through your home?
>>
>>107576673
He's a lil cutie
>>
>>107585339
>What's the use case?
I could make do with 16 ports now that I think about it. No less than that though. 10 wall jacks minimum would be going to it and that could go up to 13 if the ISP situation changes (their IPTV shit NEEDS to go through a separate port on the IPTV VLAN and I have 3)
>or VLANs
It's possible. Will have to read more into how the fuck to use the .1q vlan shit.

thats an entirely different thing because not only have both terms been used interchangably allow/whitelist block/blacklist but the point is not the word itself, but rather if in somewhere like iptables the semantic ALLOW would have been changed to NIGGER or whatever the fuck, breaking existing scripts and tooling

like how is it possible that there are so many retards in /g/ that dont even comprehend the crux of the issue, are you all indians or something or how is it possible you cant figure this shit out

the point is not only having to rewrite existing scripts and tooling but also the expectation that you know what the master branch is called is now gone, it could be main or master or anything else and you need to add extra processing to deal with that,

and its fucking CRAZY how you flip this thing around as if *we* are the "mindbroken politics obsessed people" when decades old naming conventions you could trust get broken because of politics because some nigger tranny got angry at the word "master"

i dont fucking care what the fuck it is called the point is that once the convention is made and everything is built around the convention you dont just go and change it for retarded political reasons
and *we* are the political ones?? holy fucking mental gymnastics batman

From my experience rust is hated because rust users tend to be loudly evangelical, plus there's a few high profile cases of freaks like hector marcan trying to blow up a language choice into social drama. Rust evangelism being off putting and skepticism inducing is also something I've heard from normie devs.

Before I learned rust I assumed it was C++ but trendy and the supposed benefits of learning it were all inflated by hype. It's much nicer than I thought it would be and I appreciate that it's designed to be easy to use while trying to enforce good practices. It's also less eye cancer inducing to look at compared to C++

Got distracted by the weird captcha and forgot to ask the question: does anybody know of a nested menu program like xmenu (pic related) but for wayland? This one is great on X11 but has issues on wayland. It's a little known program from github so I'm not sure if it's attracted attention from anyone who would write a wayland version.
