>>107798571An old pal reached out after years with a short email just as I was traveling and it was about a month after I had discovered chatgpt and was much into talking with it. I wasn't exactly sure what to write back and didn't have much time so I asked chatgpt to help writing a short reply. I only properly wrote him back a week or two later from home, but he didn't respond to either message. I've wondered if it was because he could tell I used AI for the first message. Then again, if someone is that judgmental on how people choose to communicate, maybe it's more on them. Could also be he simply didn't see the need for further communication at that time. Anyway, after using AI for a couple more work-related messages, I have since essentially stopped using it for personal communication, because it doesn't feel right. Thanks for reading my blog!

>>107788432LLM retards think the tech knows it all like a magic source of information. they really think it's """artificial intelligent"""
I read a paper about assembly programming using LLMs, which says that there are cases where LLMs can perform smarter optimizations than compilers. For example, it seems they can notice things like "Oh, this is a case where popcnt can be used" (I feel like that might be possible).https://arxiv.org/abs/2505.11480You might think that compiling this C code into a popcnt 1 instruction is difficult, but actually, in some cases, it is possible (https://godbolt.org/z/6ncKaq1df). It's converting it through hardcoded pattern matching, not inference.LLMs are already more capable of producing high performant code than most talented programmers out there. What will be the next cope? You're too dumb to use a fucking llm.txt?

Is this year the year that Cook gets cooked?
SAAAAAAAARRRRR
So, I recently switched back to Gentoo after spending the last 10 years on Debian.I currently am running the hardened musl profile, wayland only, -O2, pie.I was looking at the wiki and see that LibreSSL in gentoo is deprecated, except in an overlay. And there seems to be an opinion thag LibreSSL is mostly unmeeded nowadays. What do you think? The most common weakpoint is usually a web browser in security, it's the most attacked one, and firefox is compiled against NSS, (neither Libre/OpenSSL).Most of my shit runs in rootless podman alpine containers, too...
It's not worth it to hunt for patches to make things compile with LibreSSL.
if you care this much about security just use qubes. btw firefox is considered less secure than chromium browsers.
Is it possible to use AI without getting AIds?I'm too young to be AIdetic.

Im just now getting up to speed on the Atomic desktop versions of Fedora. Anyone had success with these dual booting or should i just put it on its own disk and swap out?
>>107807024>ebook and softwaremost ebook readers seem to be in gtk, arianna seems pretty bad, anyway, maybe inkscape should have been mentioned. It is undeniable that qt has more professional and standard software due to its powerful and cross-platform nature. theres also a lot of cool, tested and solid software in gtk; geany, stardict, claws-mail, gajim, homebank, gparted & liferea.>the real issueqt does a terrible job as a de (its best known de is known for crashing) while gtk is solid and simpler, that's why the best des are gtk. personally, I think qt is also better implemented in a gtk de, opinions of my own since i've only used kde and xfce.
