So how's the moca? Actually a worth while upgrade to the space travel or just another cash grab? Things are nearly the same price as the galaxy buds fe, is there any reason not to just go with those instead at that price?

the main thing they upgraded is ANC. if that's irrelevant to you, it's not much better than space travel.
in general, buds fe are a superior product from a superior company even if some on-paper specs are "outdated," compared to moca

It's definitely a step up from the Space Travel. Way better case, ANC and transparency mode that actually work well and few more options in the app and overall fit is a bit better imo since they are the Space Travel, but scaled down by maybe 3-4%. Wear detection also works great. And the material is now smooth compard to the rough material of the Spacae Travel, which always made them move around in the ear too much.

Just received my second pair of TRN MT5 and I might have to rescind my previous recommendation since this pair has relatively bad channel matching from 3 to 6 khz (around 2 db difference).
Seems like a frequent problem since my other pair also had some imbalance there, although to a much lesser degree.

Looking for a comfy wired pos
Soundpeats Free2 Classic with Final E tips size S is what worked best for me from what I've tried (not much)
I mostly like the sound of the Zero2, but they're not comfy to me (I think the nozzle is too big and short?) and I'd also prefer 2-3 kHz to be slightly more recessed
No hard limit on budget, but I'd rather not spend more than $300-400

i mean you're pretty much retarded and deaf then... do you realize the pinout I posted is literally from tanchjim's ONE manual? and when you measure on REW with a 3rd party cable with performer earhooks you can see the phase for one side going -180° and the other 0° when both should be at 0°, then you need to flip one side and the earhook can't fit over the ear anymore but since you don' have either a multimeter nor a 711 you're coping cuz 1 side inverted like a retard

>>
>>103263870
lmao i have done the measurements on two ones, they're both fine.
you could also just use logic and see that the polarity is normal
wear them normally, and both the positive pins are at the back. any other wire will also match this same thing
the only reason the manual includes this is that there are retards that will plug the cables wrongly since it's a bullet.
and of course there are even dumber retards like you that lacks any spatial awareness

Asking about headphones because dont want to make a thread.
Looking for clashed back over heard headphones around 200€ or less.
Mainly just listen to a wide variety of music types and a bit of gaming.
I'd like to value build quality a bit more because I'm not that much of an audiophile. I guess something neutral would be best. Having a detachable cable is a must as well
I'd like for them to be portable but I guess I can live without super portability because I realize I only ever really use my m50x at home.
Reason I want to get something new is that the earpads have gone to complete shit, the headband is all flaking apart, theres a bit of a cable protruding from the hole where the headband clicks into. Rather just get something new.
Some suggestions I see a lot are
- Fiio FT1
- DT 770 Pro X
- K371
Can I go wrong with any of these or is there something else I should consider?

so I tried the CX-Pro thing
TTGK Technology Co.,Ltd CX31993 384Khz HIFI AUDIO

not bad I think but in average Realtek ALC5686 (same TTGK) is so much more superior...

the problem with the realtek one is that it has a clicking sound when shifting between different configuration but it's no big deal and I find the CX31993 much more annoying with its initial sound anomalies (clicks and hiss noises) when it powers.
the big problem with the CX31993 is that it has bad crosstalk or some manufactured filters like forced crossfeed to improve their fake "soundstage". muting one channel and setting to volume above 50%, listening to the muted channel (while the other channel is playing back music) you would notice the non-muted sound leak to the supposed-to-be muted channel. that doesn't happen with the Realtek one even at 100% volume but I think this CX-Pro DAC does use Linear Phase and that makes it sound more natural than ALC5686 which sound sharp but I've taken a liking to ALC5686. the crossfeed effect of CX31993 won't appear unless you set the DAC hardware volume above 50%. It might not even be crossfeed but rather a defect in the manufacturing where at certain voltage/volume level it crossfeeds and that the initial hiss was a problem with the design of capacitors (maybe not rated for stuff above 50% volume (voltage)). I do hope they just made the ALC5686 in linear phase - would have been perfect..

Some time ago I got a KZ ZS10 Pro, probably saw it listed in one of these. It was 2021 or early 2022. At first there was glue seeping out from its seams, and I just wiped it with a tissue every time. They still work fine, and I just got a replacement cable after the default ones broke. I see now that the plastic body on the right earbud has a fracture on it.

I probably won't be replacing these anytime soon as they still work fine and I like to keep my things for years. In the event that these somehow break down, are the new budget ones any more decent than the KZ ZS10 Pro's or should I aim higher for both sound and build quality? I have the money to buy new ones, but I want to save myself the hassle and go with something that'll last even longer than these.

not sure what 7 OUT means with realtek but it might be that it can shift to 7 frequency rates though the 8000/16000 wasn't listed (kernel issue) and it's adaptive to host. the mode shown in microphone I think is misleading since it should support above that I think 96/24 maximum worked on realtek and might be the reason the linux kernel is fucked when shifting between mic frequencies on an opened application like REW
with conexant it shows all the freq. rates so it should be better for most devices or more stable for use with applications but yeah the downside is the crossfeed.
>>
>>103266443
oh I missed that part, the ALC5686 supports 2-channel microphone. that's a deal breaker to some. CX only has single channel for mic.
>>
>>103266451
another thing I think the part which makes people prefer CX is that it sounds "like how we used to listen to music" which is with poorly shielded DAC/audio sources that would have a natural "crossfeed" like an old dumbphone or portable mp3 device or a native audio of a computer.
maybe that was part of the design... so yeah that could be a selling point to some, but to those who prefer pristine audio reproduction maybe not.

do you really need more than 50% volume for IEMs? any 3.5mm setup will more or less have crosstalk. the bar is set low for these budget dongles, you just need to be better than built in motherboard audio. of course for a serious setup you'd want dual CS43131/CS43198 with a balanced cable and the DAC should let you change the filter to linear phase like FiiO KA2, FiiO KA5, moondrop dawn pro

you want something like foam tips which have a higher absorption coeff, or try narrow bore tips like the final e which is somewhat consistent in reducing treble.
ultimately it's hard to say since we don't know the shift in resonance caused by eartips in your ear, so you should experiment if possible.

Right, I've decided to put on the small stock tips from Chu 2 on the EPZ Q1 Pro's and now I have a proper fit in both ears. I think it might be due to the Chu 2 silicone being a bit stiffer than the EPZ one, in comparison the HS20 love to roll up and stick to themselves because they're so soft making a good seal impossible.

I measured them and they seem to correspond to the M sized Spring Tips. I'm thinking whether or not to order them for extra comfort since apparently they're that softer type of silicone, but they are more shallow so maybe they'll seal better either way, idk. I doubt there's any working coupons worth a shit.

Thoughts? Should I stay with the Chu 2 tips or pull the trigger on the M sized Spring Tips?

Speakers need multiple drivers because there are literally no speaker drivers that can play full range. IEMs don't have this problem. From the speaker perspective IEM drivers are ultrasonic tweeters, the real miracle is that they can also play bass. The entire goal of speaker R&D is to make multiple drivers behave like one driver.

The way I see it is that comfort only matters after the tips seal properly, and the size doesn't matter as much as the material. Technically the Chu 2 and the stock Q1 tips are similar in size, but one seals better than the other since it's stiffer. Then the HS20's can't seal for shit because they're so soft and sticky that they'll stick to themselves when putting them in, leading to no seal and are really finicky to get in. Funnily enough I got them to remedy the Chu 2's falling out, but now I know it's because metal housing is a meme and lightweight resin is the way to go. IIRC metal housing can cause damage due to humidity building up in it which isn't an issue with plastic/resin housing.

My goal is to find a tip that seals well, doesn't need any fucking around to seal, and is comfortable. Thing is I don't know how much of my discomfort stems from the tips and how much of it stems from me not knowing how to put them in properly, scratching my ears with the hardness of the nozzle. Or perhaps the bad tips make me force the IEM's in further leading to me scratching my ears, I don't know, I just want something small to keep in my pocket, pop into my ears to isolate myself from the noise and enjoy music. I have hearing too sensitive for my own good.
>>
>>103268880
>>103269056
Brotha, advice for newfriends is to start with all-sizes packs until you more closely narrow down your size range. Like other anon suggests, size is not so absolute. When using different IEMs or ear tip models, my range of size can vary +-1.00mm.
There are all sizes packs of TRN T-Ear and Audiosense S400, both of which work well with Q1 Pro, and cost less than Spring Tips.
If not those, I rec Azla Vivids for a "premium," option. They aren't widely available anymore (I think Linsoul has stock). The all-sizes Vivid pack includes in-between sizes so it's more likely to find perfect match
>>
>>103269056
>Then the HS20's can't seal for shit because they're so soft and sticky that they'll stick to themselves when putting them in, leading to no seal and are really finicky to get in.
that's the issue with the spring tips but even worse because the umbrella/dome is so thin and sharp at the tip that it has very little rigidity to hold its shape
the eartip is also very soft as a whole and decently sticky. depending on how big your canal is, the eartip is either going to go in perfectly, or be too big and collapse the eartip's tip and eventually fall out
the whole issue with eartips and comfort is that there are two extreme ends of ear canal shapes/sizes
>>

Well I don't have many, but I did find the stock Chu 2 small tips to work well on the Q1 Pro's, just slipping in and sealing, while the medium ones were too large and would not seal and push the IEM's out, so I'm judging something like those small Chu 2 tips is my size, assuming the same material stiffness and general shape. After measurements (snatched some calipers at work for a sec) I came to the conclusion that the M sized Spring Tips are about the same shape so I'm going off on that. I would've gotten an all-size pack of them if there was one available, but alas, it's a blind buy.

>>103269097
Well shit, guess I'll see within a week or two if my eyeball decision was right or not. From the photos they look closer in material type to the Chu 2 tips, regular matte silicone and such, so I assumed they'd be something close. Also I can't tell if they remove bass or add bass based on all the opinions I see, guess it depends on how well they seal for people and how deep they go. One thing I don't want is to have even less bass since the Harman tuning of the Q1's already makes it very light. If anything the current tips are "good enough".

Fingers crossed the M size will be perfect for me.

I read somewhere they're in the same ballpark as mangirth, similar build with similar parts selection. Even the graphs are similar.

I usually use medium tips but moondrop spring tips are very small so for me Ls fir very good with Q1 (didn't like both M and L with Aria SE they came with). So I imagine if smaller tips fit you better M should be fine...
>>
>>103269721
From what I can tell the Spring Tips sizing is off. They should've started off with XS, since the M size is what would usually be the M size, and the "XL" is what the regular L would be like. But I guess it's part of their marketing strategy, you don't have a variety pack, you have to buy a size, you guide yourself with the manufacturer's labeling rather than measurements, buy a size too small and then you have to pay for another pair.

Tanchtards, you fucked up. I needed a new bullet POS and was looking at the zero ultima. Announced TWO MONTHS ago, but it's STILL not out.
As a result I just ordered the coomdrop quark 2s. Good job on losing a customer!!!

Thanks. Where do you find these? tws review is unscientific, and i can't figure out how to get squig to recommend the closest to target pos based on webplot.

They can overestimate up to 1khz, but you can still draw a fair prediction if something will be too bassy for you if it's being played by a DD. For BAs, it's often never as bassy as it says.

Do eartips make a difference in sound?
>>
>>103270419
yes
>>
>>103270419
yes, the quality of seal influences the bass and all have some change to treble response in your ear bc of diff insertion depths, which can change the perception of other frequencies
>>
but do different eartips change the sound in different ways or not

crossfeed problem is usually either a wiring issue or a design issue or using weak caps.
though both USB DAC have issues with the output getting redline since somehow I think they manufactured it to be louder than it should or the kernel driver is extremely fucked that I had to do a -9 preamp on the software to avoid distortion. there's test files in reference audio analyzer site regarding CS DACs and I think the cirrus logic DAC have similar problem with distortion at high volumes. most DAC out there do. makes me think why Apple put a volume limit on other OS like linux or MS maybe to avoid that pesky distortion

Most amps are actually not stable on loads below 30 Ohm. You might be able to utilize those extra volume steps without distortion on IEMs/headpos with higher impedance. Why are you wasting an entire day on this dogshit dongle again?

lmao you are a schizo. I only posted here first time after about an entire year.
also high impedance won't fix the distortion issue and "amps" lol who even uses those for IEMs? that shit has coloration and messes with the target output impedance ratios.

nah those are flagship DAC chips. the dogshit ones are the audiopoopoo ones that use outdated EOL factory surplus chips and priced like shit while having weird coloration filters I had to throw/sell them off.

It's a $20 tws with ANC and other features, what did you expect?
You can eq it in the app and get it closer to the Harman Target, just have to add some subbass and reduce the midbass.
