to save yourself time and effort the only worthwhile "finetune" of illust so far is smoothft which is just one epoch on 800k images and downmerged which helps with the artifacting without affecting composition. I like the SPO merge, helps with anatomy. everything else is basically just a questionably useful experiment unless someone grabs all of danbooru minus comics and whatnot and does a vpred conversion.

Since you're storing gradients for each parameter, it takes much more memory, and unless you have a 24gb gpu, you will have to use adafactor with fused backward pass and if you have less than 16gb you will have to use full bf16.
