ai is a better language partner than japanese people because you can tell it "Let's have a conversation. You'll respond in Japanese while I respond in English" and it'll comply unlike Japanese people who'll force themselves to respond in their target language no matter how many hours it takes them to construct a sentence

Well, judging by the masculine given name, Masato (just guessing on the reading), and the masculine pronoun, I'd say she isn't the one talking.
>俺が流すわけないだろ
Simple statement of conjecture in which the explicit agent, Masato, is affirming he won't spread or let out some detail. Note that the object of the sentence (the "what" that he's leaking) isn't explicit.
>お前に弱みを握られている状態で
The speaker demonstrates that he is in the proverbial bind by the listener, which is his reasoning for why he won't divulge said information. The agent of the sentence, the girl this time, is again explicit, and the head noun 状態 is being modified by the clause before it.
>自分からすすんで地雷を踏みに行く趣味はない
Now notice that even though he already he said he wasn't going spill the beans, because of Japanese sentence structure, he still needs to restate that he won't do it. Note the use of idiom in both clauses.
Also, I'm a real person before anyone asks.

i always felt out だろう as an indicator that you think the other party approves of your own statement as well

>>
>>48327266
It's a bit of the opposite. It's more of a way of asking for the other party's approval. It's how they form persuasive statements.
>>
>>48327266
and that's precisely what that is. seeking agreement or reaffirmation, checking whether the other sees it the same way. that's not what is called conjecture. there is no interpretation of anything unclear going on. it's reasoning. the わけないだろう here means "you see this too that this couldn't possible be, right?"

first of all: you haven't answered my question: do you want to learn japanese, or do you want to play games in japanese?

stop coping by wasting time on making deck you will never use. if you are really wanna immerse, go to jpdb, pick anything with diffuclty 1/2, add its custom deck, study it for a week, and then consoom the vinny/anime/game/manga/whatever without texthooker (preferably reading aloud). if you know all the words then the only thing you'll miss is the grammar which you can look up however you want
>wanna play games in japanese
play something that's not translated using ocr/texthooker/mtl, have fun and drop the mining shit completely

bunpro is good for grammar, but your mining is as inefficient as it can be.

mining stuff != learning japanese. using anki ISN'T learning japanese, it's just a shortcut for lookups, so you do them in your head instead of using dictionaries, digital or physical. learning japanese consist in reading, listening and speaking, and no matter how much shit is given to matt, he's right that you shouldn't practice output at all until you know the other 2

so again, speaking about japanese: can you read anything? can you understand any speech? do you practice these 2?

it's completely superfluous. it's like listening practice for the mute. it achieves nothing that listening to someone talk can't do for you. kana only japanese is for all intents and purposes not a thing anymore and in these games only exists because of technical limitations at the time. that is not a good enough reason to engage with them as an early beginner. drilling kana only vocab into your brain ON THE SIDE to easily boost your speaking and listening vocab is a valid tactic at first though. there is zero requirement for beginners to be able to also read or write every word they can say and understand in a conversation. eventually that deficit should be correct of course

if you use a premade hanahira deck, you'll see them when playing hanahira
>>
>>48328595
or you could just read it normally and optionally mine
>>
>>48328609
or you could learn those n5 vocabs first and then practice reading them while also making sense of grammar and feeling out the sentence flow. instead of ocring every single word and keeping it in your deck for a year
>>
>>48328619
personally i would find it very uncompelling to learn words that are going to be in the thing i want to enjoy specifically so i can consume it
i also never used ocr hookers or hovers i just enjoyed myself
>>
>>48328640
>personally i would find it very uncompelling to learn words that are going to be in the thing i want to enjoy specifically so i can consume it
why? consooming something without lookup should be more enjoyable that looking up every other word, no?
>>
>>48328666
thats why you should consume things youve already consumed in english when youre just starting out
>>
>>48328679
that would help you with the gist, but the lookups issue will kill the pacing regardless

How do Japanese understand their own language? lol, for instance. Listening to song lyrics and translating them word for word, meaning for meaning, is really confusing IMO, but if you take time to "Reverse Egineer it" to fit english language, it makes sense, but Japanese people just hear it as it is and understand it...

I tried translating this song word for word, like... How would Japanese people hear this song as it's sung? I use (word) to fill in blanks sometimes to make it make sense...

to be honest i'm still testing it. it gets wrong a lot of unique vocabs since i assume subs are parsed automatically by some pre-ai tech, but overall it's definitely better than making a deck from scratch (it accounts for known vocabs across all decks, so besides the first time when you go through every single vocab you know, it's the same shit as mining but already premade)

i'm testing it now with some babby-tier animes, i will acquire all the missing vocabs first (srs for 2 week basically) and then try watching the anime while knowing all vocabs. tho tbf this method is kinda shit since example sentences are subs so they are kinda spoilery, definitely won't do this with vidya

if this experiement won't predouce good results, then i think i'll just add all custom decks of things i've read in japanese with lookups (i don't mine in general), since that's stuff that i should already know on paper (and i can associate vocabs to story events and stuff, which help a lot). this should be a good way to do a clean up study sesh after consooming a vinny for example
>>
>>48336599

NTA but I've read plenty of books in English where I didn't "have 100% coverage" as a native English speaker. Off the top of my head, reading through the Three Musketeers series (all three books), there were items of clothing that I wasn't aware of (fell out of fashion), referencing to how to dress a horse to be suitable for riding or even old names for diseases (consumption instead of tuberculosis) that I had to look up while reading to really understand some parts. It'd be insane to suggest that I should avoid the books because I'd have to look some some stuff here and there.
>>
>>48337691
what does that have to do with 98% ? that's just a number someone pulled out of their ass
>>
>>48337711
I've seen it mentioned quite a bit with regards to learning language.
Apparently, people originally assumed 95% coverage was enough to be able to read pleasurably until they realised how little 95% really was.
