If an air force pilot has been shot down by a sam, and the helicopter sent to recover that pilot has in turn been shot down by a manpad,
what is the procedure from there?
>>

If they’re SEALs the whole chain of command gets on a chinook and flies straight into the enemy’s air defense kill box.

MANPADS
S stands for System. It's not a plural.

Last one dead. These threads need to be more common.

Between a Mossberg 590 and a Remington 870, which should I keep? Recently was given an 870 and I don't really care to have two shotguns.

just drunk purchased a 46" 10ga muzzleloading barrel from rice
>>
The 870 is the best pump shotgun on the planet IFF you replace the ejector with the Sully device from WeaponsArmorer.com.

The 870 used to own 90% of the police/tactical market, but the riveted factory ejector is shit. It's not only the most common point of failure, but a bitch to replace. This weakness allowed Mossberg, Beretta, and Benelli to gain a lot of ground in the past 20 years or so.

With the recent invention of the Sully ejector, which is stronger, more reliable, and much more easily replaceable, the 870 goes back to the top of the heap for pump action "riot guns", and with all the other aftermarket parts that can be had, it's easily the most versatile for people who want to hunt or shoot clays too.

You can get an old Police Magnum for under $500. Along with the Sully ejector, add a Volquartsen extractor, Chisel stock, Wilson ghost ring sights, and a Vang Comp magazine extension, if necessary. If you want an optic, use the Aimpoint H-2 with 6 MOA red dot. You will then have the world's best tactical shotgun.
>>
>>64687606
or you could just buy a Mossberg 590a1 off the shelf.

The expectation of a good weapon that is worth owningshould be that it is capable of doing its job for its entire service life, right out of the box.
>>
>>64687745
Nta but the last 3 590s I saw, one wouldn’t keep shells in the tube, one wouldn’t cycle at all without a great amount of force, and the third the pump would bind, so you probably want to look elsewhere, especially since the 590 is more money for the 500 for no benefit besides being more of a workout to carry.

>>64686274
For the same price as that scrap metal peice of shit you posted, I found a Auto 5 mag 12 and fixed the fore stock, 100% reliable now.

Yeah 16" is pretty long. I tried simulating it with my AR, because 16" is to about where the stock is from the magwell. Not sure if I can get over that. Everything else about it seems great though.

>TenCate CR4200
Blast from the past, haven't seen that one in a minute. Nine pounds and 1.2" for a 10x12 is rough.
>Was looking at expired surp Protech 2230
Best price-performance if you can get a pair under $450 in good condition. Also 7.5lb for a 10x12, so 1.5lb heavier or so than your 8x10 CR4200SAs. Same thickness. Can't beat that M2AP v0 and it's got double the multi-hit of the Hesco 4403. Multi-curve, formerly NIJ-cert but now inactive.
I'd maybe look at the Gilliam 9969, but GTS is taking the piss and changing specs daily. 1023 is probably a non-starter since you've already got multi-curve and that's single-curve.
The only thing the 2230s are sketchy on is tungsten 7.62x51mm. If you need to deal with that, 8002s, XSAPIs, or Adept Colossus.
>Femoral
Lot of options out there. I'd advise getting a pair of femoral IIIAs before throwing on a Sabado.
>>
FYI, Adept did a light lineup refresh and the IIIA novasteel buckler can now be attached to a handgun OR long gun. It's 3lb.
https://www.ade.pt/product/gun-shield-attachment/
Unless Gilliam is pulling shenanigans, the Archon is twice the price of the 9969 and only 0.1lb lighter. It claims some extra threats stopped (5.56 AP4 / 5.45 7N39 / 5.8 DVC-12) but they're rare as hen's teeth. Since Adept literally supplies the 9969's strike face I don't know how Adept thinks they can make a buck on the Archon.
Also Gilliam retracted the 5.3lb ultralight 9969 from their site. Make up your damn mind dude, lol.

So weird to see the US going the way of heavy rifles with less ammo capacity when everything I’ve seen from Ukrainian and Russian sources says that lighter rifles with a shit ton of ammo is what you want for close combat in a drone saturated environment. From what I gather appeared to pure war all your long range combat is mostly done by artillery and drones in the 21st-century. Long range engagements between infantry units are very rare. The Azov international guys say that assaulters are carrying upwards of 17 mags per guy. A Ukrainian recon guy I talk to said it’s not uncommon that guys will expend about 400 rounds during a hot mission. That’s about 13 mags of 5.56 and 20 mags of 7.62/6.8mm. Somebody who knows the weight of that shit do the math but it’s obvious which one weighs more.
> but what about owning camel jockeys in the desert?
I’m sure it’s a great rifle for shooting at desert dwelling sheep herders who don’t even know how to properly aim an AK but is it really the best rifle for pier-to-pier infantry land war when actual professionals doing the hard-core fighting say otherwise?
>>
A 12lb AR would have a thermal one it and carry more ammo. Smash/smart scope+specialized ammo would do everything NGSW does.
>>
Remove the optics and the suppressor.
>>
>>64687185
A guy on one of the precision shooting youtubes was saying that "pushups are free" regarding lumping an AR-10 out for mountain elk. Twelve pounds of rifle gets real heavy after some miles.

not a single battlerifle at that time was controllable in full auto except the FAL when it use the rhodesian compensator. the BAR was also controllable when using it low RPM firemode and even then it was still pushing quite a bit

generals are always retarded and always make stupid decision that get fixed with time, if you want a recent exemple look at the USMC MTV and IMTV bulletproof vest, as absolute horrid piece of shit that only truck drivers liked, it quickly got discarded and instead they kept using the interceptor until the SPC finished its trials
