>>64754455so you can just put a chest rig over your plate carrier and usually be alright?
>>64754464Yeah via velcro and most have clips on the straps that can be removed snd connected. I forgot the terms for the clips.
>>64754472Got you and then the belt rig is a completely separate thing that you can just add whatever to (pistol mags and IFAK) am I correct?
>>64754464If you are a turbo poorfag its fine but its not ideal. Better to get a placard on your carrier.>>64754472Swiftclips
>>64754486Yeah, a lot of people swear by the three line system. Absolute essentials and everyday carry on belt, that's first line. Second line is armor and fighting gear. Third line backpack, sustainment. Fourth line would be your vehicle. The premise is that if you have to ditch equipment you aren't completely tied to your armor and can operate without it at a baseline level.

Going to stop there with a very nice shot of B-17s dropping>>64754143There's quite a few accounts that say that the bombers would bouy up as they dropped a few thousand pounds, yes
>>64754415Yeah, that's not very typical. I'd like to make that point.
I think the B-17 could also be equipped with fuel tanks for the bomb bay, but were they less common than those on the B-24?

They need a 5th gen, Su57 will not cut it
>>64754286Ok, but they're not going to get 5th gens so...
>>64754286>>64754316The Rafale, is fully the equal of the F-35, Su-57 and J-20 as a fifth generation fighter. Like the KF-21, it is a 4.5 gen with development potential to be further upgraded to fifth gen. That is why many countries, such as India, Indonesia, Qatar and the UAE which have requested F-35s or were looking at other fifth gen options like the Su-75 and KF-21, are now Rafale users. The Eurofag Typhoon meanwhile remains a 4-4.5 generation aircraft with no further development potential, and the countries who are using it primarily (UK, Italy, Spain etc) are all F-35 users and have no incentive to develop it further. If the Rafale was made by a non-NATO country, they would call it 5th gen.

>>64754290Prototyping an indie wargame called "Overcommander". Turn based portion where you move around large groups of troops and resources (ammo, fuel, rations, materials, ordnance) on a hex map. Each hex can be "zoomed in" on to switch to RTS mode where you build bases and have hundreds of niggas fighting. Basically a boardgame with mini RTS battles, claim/win hexes until you finally besiege the enemy HQ hex.

This is an unnamed rifle developed in China between 1997 and 2009. It was never issued to the military on a large scale.Development BackgroundWhen the QBZ-95 was first issued to the military, it was met with a degree of controversy. Due to issues with the initial production run and concerns from high-level officials regarding the bullpup design, an order was issued to develop a conventional-stock rifle chambered in 5.8x42mm.It was under these circumstances that this firearm was conceived. Its design philosophy was clearly influenced by the (Soviet) Russian AN-94, including the signature feature of a high-rate-of-fire, two-round burst.
An interview with Duo Yingxian in the November issue of Ordnance Knowledge《兵器知识》11月刊对朵英贤的采访Duo Yingxian: Chinese Automatic Weapons Expert, Professor at Beijing Institute of Technology, and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Born in 1932, Duo graduated in 1956 from the Beijing Institute of Technology, specializing in Automatic Weapons Design. He served as the technical lead for the Chinese Type 67 general-purpose machine gun and the Type 95 (QBZ-95) rifle family. He was elected as an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 1999. His published works include Chinese Automatic Weapons, Longitudinal Vibration in Engineering, and New Compendium of Automatic Weapons.
'Originally, the 2004 "95-1" project was supposed to focus on improving the Type 95 itself. However, the military’s primary focus wasn't the 95 itself; they wanted to modify it based on the Russian AN-94 (fielded in 1994). Due to major disagreements, the ordnance system selected a different Chief Designer to lead the 95-1. The task force immediately studied the AN-94 proposal, but in 2005, the Russian AN-94 was decommissioned due to severe reliability issues. China subsequently stopped that research and shifted focus to "ammunition unification" (merging two rounds into one). In 2005, the ordnance system issued a directive for the 208 Institute, 255 Factory, 204 Institute, 791 Factory, and 671 Factory to jointly tackle this unification. I had hoped to implement ergonomic improvements to the rifle during the later stages of the 95-1 development, but I didn't expect it to be delayed by the universal round.''

Could this realistically work?
>>64754276/thread
>>64754231Yes but not like that. Salt water would fuck up the engine so you really want to shoot them out of a vertical silo right into open air. Preferably in shallow water so the engines don't flood. This also doesn't work for landing. >>64754276I want to believe this is sarcasm but I've heard "Trust me bro, it worked in <Insert movie here>" quickly followed by ambulances far too often.
>>64754231>Could this realistically work? No. Aircraft are designed for 0-1 atmospheres of pressure. An F/A-18 is ~15.4 ft tall and 56 ft long and it flies way up there so that has to be under 100-150+ ft of water in that movie. At that depth it'll 4-5.5 atm of pressure (~58-80psi), plane is fucked. The only way to theoretically sorta make it work is like >>64754438 says and launch it in a disposable pressure vessel with solid fuel rockets or something to get it enough initial velocity and vertical to take over with its engines. For recovery the sub would have to surface and have a Soviet style typhoon sorta thing with a separate pressure hull vs outer hull, outer hull having a runway and elevators to bring it inside, all of which is a complex nightmare.
Fucking Luftrausers, showing up out of nowhere, getting a 300:1 K/D
>>64754231That's not how jet engines work. You'll need to have a separate propulsion system that'll work underwater until the plane breaches (with enough inertia) and the jet can take over. You'd probably be better off with a "carrier sub" approach by modeling a (huge) sub with a specialized flight deck that keeps the plane dry until it's go time.
How many armored soldiers from the late middle ages would you need to appreciably affect a bronze age battlefield?
>>64738639I sympathize with your point of view. I'm deeply skeptical of the orthodox view of "Horses weren't big enough to ride for battle" - it suggests some massive genetical change to make them hardier and more suitable for it occurred by 900 BC, allowing for at least 50 years between the expert horsemanship (parthian shot) on the Assyrian relief of ~850. What I read suggests the bit is the key thing, as prior to that they had bits that could be broken by a horse (wood), or lacked the makeup that a bronze bit could such that a horse could just gum/tongue it somewhere it was no longer able to really pull/influence them.>>64738852It's extremely painful (4u) that we can tell from Tollense there was a significant level of political organization to allow such different people coming together for a fite. What tools for self defense would you recommend for someone in Europe to have when shit goes down. There are black powder revolvers shotguns and rifles, but you can't buy them everywhere in Europe. There are crossbows and bows but what is really their capacity to defend, and of course air rifles, in some countries they are unrestricted in some countries they are cucked and they are a hassle to have around in the case of an emergency. Better yet what should everybody own, not just weapons, in case they want to survive more than 72 hours.
