we all know secdef is an idiot
>The former official also noted the redundancy of the proposed nondisclosure policy.
>“If you have contacts with the press, you’re supposed to disclose them. If you have a speaking engagement, you’re supposed to have your remarks cleared regardless of whether the event is classified or unclassified. If you’re read into intelligence programs, you’re already covered [by the nondisclosure obligation],” the official said.

>had they failed, we would've had another "Black Hawk Down" scenario, where a fast raid turned into a shit fest due to the downed choppers that allowed the local militia to mobilize, and lots of US casualties within the QRF sent to recover the dead/wounded from the crash.

They undoubtedly had a flying QRF just waiting to touch down next to a wreck and cut the bodies out. I wonder how they actually plan that eventuality?

Do littlebirds have the range to get into the city?

The real trvke is that barrier-cognizance is preferable in almost all civilian use cases and at least some law enforcement use cases due to reducing the possibility and severity of collateral damage.

what are some memory holed wars?
Did you know the US invaded the Dominican Republic in 1965 with around 22,500 troops, 100 M48 Pattons, over 1000 combat air sorties. There was heavy fighting where around 60 Marines and 82nd Airborne troops died with 400 wounded.

Considering after the first few months the Ugandan army disintegrated by desertions, I'll say the later, proving that they suffered from every endemic aspect of a dictatorship armed forces, being more thought as a tool to repress the population than defending the country, but don't get me wrong, it's still pretty admirable from Tanzania to be one of the few African states to successfully take the capital of another state, even if it left them a sour aftertaste, with the high war costs and having to babysit the new failed state lead by the incompetent Milton Obote. Shoulders sounds like a good idea, thanks. Glad to see some people are interested, /agdg/ said the concept was unappealing. Pic related is my first steps into making a hex playboard system, map is roughed out manually but cells are procgen based on the underlying map. Threw some units in there too to see what they'd look like.
>>
>>64750767
this looks worse than an 80s hexmap, I hope you don't have this in mind as the final product

using Google Maps to generate hexmaps is a 5 year old trend, hint hint
>>
>>64750792
It's the first thing I slapped together in a short amount of time just to see how it would look. I hate how tedious it is to tile a map in GameMaker and my dithering fill is fucked up here and there, so I'm going to figure out a better way to have the game read any given hexmap and assign each hex the proper terrain type. Units are pretty small, but I do need room in each cell for the equivalent of monopoly houses (little icons to show manmade features like cities and bases)

What's Russia's actual ranking when you discount all the hulks they keep on register despite them barely being able to remain afloat, let alone sail under their own power? I would wager below France.
>>
>>64750382
I would imagine they are still in 3rd, but with a much smaller gap. The Russian Navy has so much tonnage tied up in soviet era rust buckets that it's simply impossible to tell. So much of their tonnage is wrapped up in wrapped up in retarded shit that also fluffs the numbers as well. They seriously have like 100 different tug boats all varying from a couple hundred to a couple thousand tons. Their oiler fleet is made up of gigantic 1970s rust buckets. They have a stupidly large amphibious fleet for a country that doesn't even utilize them for amphibious landings or a strong maritime tradition. Overall their sub fleet won't change much, but like 90% of their surface fleet tonnage is all pre-Russian federation where the RF hasn't actually built anything larger than a frigate. It really is annoying looking through the list and seeing how much of their 2 mil figure is just propped up by nonsensical shit

Where my arm chair generals at? What the actual best way to pull this off?

Apparently only springtime is possible because other than that the strait is too choppy.

Eastern shore is all rocks so you can’t even do a landing over there.

Also can’t do any of the tactics from ukraine since basements aren’t a thing due to the water table, there a ton of parking garages and subway stations though.

NTA. Say I make a foot long grip for my AR (straight line recoil) and grip it at the very bottom. There isn’t going to be any extra muzzle rise because the recoil is still going directly back into my shoulder - the thing the gun is braced up against. No leverage, yes, but no leverage against my shoulder, not my firing hand.

You've heard of FRTs, but what's a "super safety"?
>uses the safety to force the reset of the trigger
>allows for way more trigger options (you just have to trim two places)
>invented by Tim Hoffman (https://hoffmantactical.com)
>gifted to the world to freely 3D print
>enterprising people now selling super safeties made of steel (recommend at least 4140)
>cheaper than an FRT ($90-$150)
>originally a 3-position cross-bolt safety
>left is safe, right is semi, middle is super
>3-position 90° super safety selectors are now available

I could care less, and would still buy several even if they were backyard cast pot metal. It's my opinion that Hoffman deserves our support especially with RB trying to ruin his life.

>The world is continuing to become more population dense and people are moving into cities. The increasing littoralization and developing urban centers mean that having some gigantic battle rifle that sucks at everything isnt actually going to do well in these conflicts. Small arms are going to be an even smaller part as the conflicts become tighter together.
ive had a similar thought to all those larptubers training infantry tactics and doing LRRP shit in the forest. like okay i can understand why that may be useful but if da boogaloo (n)ever comes i would imagine most of the fighting would be urban/around cities, where most of the population lives and where ideologies will clash. just like we are seeing today with Minneapolis, people arent getting into riots in the forests.
>>
>>64750921
I agree. Combat in major American cities will be a new level of shitshow if rule of law is truly out the window. Also people aren't going to be able to "escape" to rural areas as quickly as they think. Highways will be jammed up / blocked and the average person isn't good for a long march on-foot, especially when laden with all their belongings. This goes double for larpers that don't exercise and are either horribly under or over weight. Like hell, I remember a bunch of plebbitors who genuinely could not make it up a set of stairs with a slick carrier and two Level IV plates. It's sixteen pounds guys, c'mon.

Are living suicide bombs a viable strategy in an open war? I thought that suicide bombing was only good for terrorism at checkpoints/markets but not for a frontal assault to a fortified enemy position.

Not just women, it's children/teenagers.
The pitch is something like "come to russia to study in elite innovative tech school! learn real skills! for free!".
Some kind of school for those kids actually exists there, but the trick is students have to fulfill some "practice quota"(building drones) or be expelled/have to pay.
