What’s your guys opinion on this?
My G43 has a crack on the hand guard that runs about the length of it but only appears to be on the surface and doesn’t go through to the other side. You guys think it’s still fine to shoot? It already has what looks like epoxy filled into parts of the crack but i can for sure feel it spread when I squeeze the hand guard lightly but I can barely see it spread with my eyes

So let me get this straight, finn mosins were chambered in 53r but due to the need to use soviet ammo, finnish barrels were made for 54r and only the bullet shape in 53r is different. This means that 53r and 54r ammo is completely interchangeable.
retardsplain finnish mosin ammo for me.
>>
>>64757967
I don't think any G43 is fine to shoot.
>>
>>64758032
Not really interchangeable in the way you might think
53r is .308
54r is .311
Older Finnish Mosin’s use the .308 bullet and when they adopted the D166 is when they switched to a .311 bullet
D barrel Mosin’s are Mosin’s that had a surplus barrel chambered for .308 reamed out to fit the D166 cartridge which is why you see M39’s marked with a D. M39’s stopped getting marked with a D barrel after a certain point it was completely standard for them to be chambered for D166 thus having no need to show the barrel had been converted

>in the world you are describing I think that assassination would be a very prominent part of both politics and warfare.
I love it. It jives with the theme of smaller but more elite armies. Assassins, headhunters, saboteurs, scouts, and snipers would be the commandos of this setting. Adds the possibility of mercenary companies who specialize in such tactics, along with experienced detachments to augment a given army.

>>64755471
I'd be fine with animu but, I like the idea of an CRPG that meshes skirmish and field army battles. Keep it full of depth but simple and narrow, like the Homeworld series. I could see that really working because you could start by focusing on a single nation-state, and gradually building out until you have over a dozen different factions based on analogues of the Pike/Shot/Colonial era. Samurai and Musketeers, Landsknechts and Conquistadors, Knights and Dragoons, Cossacks and Mamelukes...But with Dragons. After a few years, you have an entire setting on a Risk-style map, with playable campaigns for each faction and a story to go with them.

Damn...Yeah, I need to start working on this. I might take the notes from this thread to /tg/...

im pretty sure ive seen more than one report from ukrainan front line soldiers that some kind of full-face protection is absolutely necessary and vital piece of kit now, and its one of the main "take-aways" as far as infantry/frontline kit goes. i wish i knew where I saw it, but it was something to the effect that full face/head protection is something people think is for-real actually needed

To be fair on Vigil it's not that he was literally hours away from powering off, it's that he finally accomplished his final task.
I suspect he was sitting in an extremely low power state until Shep showed up and probably could've sustained it longer, but then used every drop of juice left to communicate the message.
>>64756442
There's some echoes of similar themes in the final game too. The Reapers say they're harvesting to preserve a trace of the uniqueness of species each cycle, and the purpose isn't just to control organics as they could but to allow different ones to spring up over time. Jarvis talks about how the Prothean empire being so dominant also undercut them, because everyone had roughly the same culture, equipment, technology and doctrine. You cut them all off from each other by turning off the relays, figure out how to deal with one pocket of them, then you've basically figured out how to deal with all of them. I suspect the original idea was that the Reapers were trying to see if new civilisations figured out a way around it, harvest any science they did that might've pointed to something or make their own collective's thinking more diverse through adsorbing them as new reapers.
Biggest problem I can see versus the final story is that there's really two conflicts now, the Reapers themselves and the dark energy entropy death of the universe and there's not really a neat way to combine them. Just showing the Reapers that you built the first ever solar powered mass relay and them turning off after or something wouldn't be satisfying. Maybe reworking the Crucible into 'the power to stop the Reapers', but you still need to sell why everyone's building this thing without knowing what it even does.
Only thing I could think is making it about finishing an ancient prototype that takes combining a bunch of cutting edge innovations from around the galaxy, everyone thinks it's a fleet-killer energy weapon instead of a tech demo.
