The ziggers have come up with another brilliant plan to counter drones, walking tents! Guessing mostly for night ops to reduce thermal signature? Because these are definitely not good for day time at least. Though it'd be hilarious to see them try assaulting with these fucking things on. What will the ziggers dream up next to deal with thermal cams?

Cost and reliability are king. The Bren and BAR were highly reliable, durable designs, which combined with how expensive LMGs were back then (before stamped construction became standard) kept them in service a long time. The Bren was replaced by the legendary FN MAG, which was superior to what was available pre-war. It was worth the wait.

Yes, and "something stable" is typically a big stone slab.

>>64750473
Yeah, that's the trick. A machinist's surface plate does the job just as well as a "balance table" yet it's much cheaper. I've fabricated many balance tables for my old job. I would weld the stand and the legs from 4" square steel tubing, which would be filled with sand afterward. The tabletop would be a 24"x36"x6" surface plate. It doesn't need to be a high grade one either, it just needs to be heavy.

Anyone here actually use D-Lead products, or any leadremovers in general?
I am currently looking at wipes, hand soap, body wash & shampoo, laundry detergent, and a lot more but theres too many to name...How many should I buy, and should I just buy all of them to be safe?
I shoot a fair amount and I’m going to be shooting way more this year than I ever have, and I'm starting to wonder how paranoid I should be about lead exposure...Because I’ve heard horror stories about young dudes who shot their whole lives, never wore gloves, never washed right, ate at the range, reloaded bare-handed and endedup with fcknCANCER or straight up DEAD a few decades later from lead poisoning.

>Is this a legit concern, or am I turning into a schizo?

Regular soap and water works fine. Wipes are best because you can use them immediately after the range but that gets expensive. Use the range bathroom if it has one.

The important thing to remember is that lead isn't all that reactive. Most of the time when someone gets lead poisoning it's because they're eating/drinking it so the biggest issue is cleaning up before you eat.

Good ventilation also helps. If an indoor range feels a little stuffy and looks a little smoky then maybe find somewhere else to shoot.
>>
>>64756343
>Doesn't wash his hands.

It's everywhere. I loved gun shows and now it's just shit.

Why wouldn't something like pic related work fine as a "do everything" gun for a person living in the densely forested hills of Appalachia, where the power and ballistic advantage of a rifle simply isn't necessary?
>plinking will be good fun with the naturally subsonic .45
>definitely suitable for home defense
>easy enough to fit in a backpack, or take the can off and carry it on your person
>get some .45 Super for killing deer or hogs, or mess around with round ball loadings for taking small game or for pest control
Yes, it's true that rifles can be had for dirt cheap these days. And it's also true that there is no real reason to limit yourself to just one gun, especially a handgun. But in an autistic min-max fantasy where you literally can only own one gun and it has to be able to be carried 24/7/365, does a suppressed .45 automatic make sense? The only real downside I see here is that this is not the best option for summertime concealed carry in hot climates.

I don't hate 9mm. One of my favorite cartridges. It just isn't a good woods gun.
>Many states prohibit cartridges like 5.7
True. But usually it would also eliminate 9mm whereas there are states that make exceptions for small game using 22 caliber handguns. So basically most states wouldn't let you take deer with 9mm or 5.7 but some will allow you to shoot 5.7 at small game. There's simply more opportunities for small game as well with the season being significantly longer/year round in many places.

I actually came from 9mm with a 22lr to just going 5.7 because it combined everything I wanted into one gun/cartridge. You can hit daily limit on squirrels using subs then drop hogs, bobcat, coyote with supers on the same outing with nothing more than a magazine change. 9mm simply won't do that. Experience >feelings.

I think the disconnect comes from people fantasizing about black bear defense yet they won't ever even be in the woods since they can't legally access most public land that's restricted to hunters simply because 9mm isn't even legal for game in their state. That's a huge aspect people are too stupid and inexperienced to realize. You want encounter a bear because you are commiting s felony by being on managed public land with a firearm not legal for the purpose of taking game during hunting season.

It's pretty simple when you THINK about it
>>64757171

>He actually didn't want it to be suppressed he just chose a trio of suppressed 45s for the lulz and mentioned it in his post
Revolverfag please, have some respect.

I already told you deer aren't legal to take with a 5.7 in my state. Hogs are and are larger/tougher anyway. It tucks them up just fine.

Do you guys think actual dogfighting will ever come back? What technology/weapon developments would be necessary for this to happen?

Tech is obviously a major fucking issue for Russians but keep in mind SEAD/DEAD isn’t happening in a vacuum unless you’re retarded. You’re neutralizing enemy AD umbrella for x reason(s). I think a lot of the world fails to see the US military in the whole and tend to look at specific assets and then try and compare (chink dongfengs vs a CSG, leopard vs abrams, etc.) but that’s not how the US operates. To be fair that is certainly how some of these retard forces are working like the helicopter rocket firing arcs though so I understand. With SEAD you are coming, and maybe you’re staying but regardless you are coming into that area. So you wild weasel, or in some fashion get the SAMs to turn on to kill you and then you kill them first. You need numbers and you need tempo far more than just having the tech to do so. You need to constantly apply pressure and have something ready to engage the moment a radar lights up one of your toys. Russia can’t do that. Think about a Russian drone attack - they can’t station a jet loitering in the vicinity of potential launch zones because that jet lacks the means to engage from a better range than the SAM (potentially). Similarly, they can’t wait and mark launch locations and then strike later because the slow tempo means those targets have probably relocated by then. If I was a russian I’d be evaluating the feasibility of some sort of general redirection abilities on my shit drones and the feasibility of implementing some sort of Home on Jam system so that a few of my drones in the attack swarm could be diverted to active radars (depending on SIGINT/ELINT abilities) and then home on the emission source. But that’s still ONLY radars and not launchers.
