STDs haven't evolved to survive in a room temperature walking corpse for extended periods of time so probably none. Kinda like rabies and possums but to an even larger degree, just a few degrees difference in body temp can absolutely cook a virus or bacterias ability to propagate properly. Then you've got the whole "dead but not rotting" thing going on which implies a functioning immune system of some sort. They probably don't have any desu.

I've been reading up on these fascinating weapons and couldn't help developing a curiosity about them.

1, Are incendiary weapons actually useful or it's just fuck you collateral damage? We no longer use highly flammable wood for anything important anymore.
2, Do they work like in my tacticool games of Counter Strike or are they different? I mean, I'm sure they are not supposed to fizzle out after 7 seconds...
3, What's the better fuel for Molotovs, alcohol, ethanol, gasoline, diesel or a mix of them? All of these are treated equal but I'm sure each has their own characteristics like flash point, so I'm wondering if there is a best overall recipe.
4, What situations can you imagine incendiary weapons being useful in a modern battlefield? Burning down entire forests I can understand, but why risk using them in CQC?

The last terrorist attack in my nation was done by a pair of dumbasses who were too stupid to make functional pipe bombs. You vastly overestimate the competency of the average lone wolf terrorist. Intelligent fanatics who can build slightly complex explosive devices are the exception, not the norm. Most are radicalized losers who want to die for the cause, which is a mental state that does not facilitate sophisticated tactics like hooking a bomb up to a flying RC car.

Would going to an Appleseed course be worth it? I've never had any instruction in shooting and there's a few coming up within driving distance so the cost would be low. I'd use a 10/22 with an LVPO.
It kind of seems like it's all old people and kids in the basic courses, though admittedly, that's probably better than getting there and finding a bunch of spergs my own age trying to look cool. I doubt I'll find a more accessible form of training but I'm not sure if this is the best format. Like how much is shooting and how much is just listening to the instructors give a history lesson?
I also understand they put a lot of emphasis on sling use but the USGI sling they use seems pretty clunky from some of the videos I've seen so I may never swap to it but I do think having someone actually watching and give me feedback might help, especially if it's assumed I have no knowledge upon arrival.
Anyone that's been to one want to give your impressions?

>>
>>64755698
Some of the videos I've seen have you flipping the gun over or clamping it between your legs to adjust the strap and it seems inconvenient. I might put it on my 10/22 or a sporter but I like front carry for my AR and it looks like the USGI is over the shoulder only.

>>64755725
I'd definitely learn some things but I've been mentally tallying the cost of stuff like rain gear (the class is in April and it'll almost certainly be raining) and cases/bags/electronic earpro and I'm looking more than that in gear alone if I want to be decently prepared. But cost is less of an issue than me being an unsociable shut-in.

I know a Haitian guy who is going in. He's only been here for a couple years but he's got residency here.
Your job options will most definitely be limited by the fact you are not a US citizen. Officer is off limits to you. Any enlisted job with a security clearance requirement is absolutely off the table because that requires you to be a citizen.
15T, UH-60 Blackhawk Repairer/Aircrew Member is what you're looking for but it might require you to have sec clearance to ride-on AFAIK IIRC.
If you want to do airborne stuff in the Army go Airborne Infantry and maintain jump status (though I personally warn against Airborne qualification because it cuts down your duty station options outside of lottery drastically).
There's still hope for you.

You mean the military might value people who show up and do bullshit all day?
Also yes, plenty of people in STEM have a 3.3+ but even then STEM degrees can get you in at 2.7+ which is B-
If you can't learn to value showing up and doing bullshit work enough to look good on paper, the military is definitely not for you.
>>64756830
You just sound salty you didn't take things seriously and got fucked for it. Life is limited and the timespan where you're someone they want off the street is a decade or maybe 2 max. They need the guy who is early to mid-20's ready for leadership, not a 35 year old who's trying to piece a life back together at middle age. They might take that 35 year old if they need to fill a slot but they want that 22 year old. Sorry you didn't value your life when it mattered but its how things are. This isn't Skyrim where you can join every guild and be thane of every city or some shit, you got to prove yourself early and pick a path. Best case for the directionless is probably to enlist and do 4 years, have that maturity, then choose what to do in college and take it seriously.
>>
>>64756961
>College/Uni is a total fucking joke but also total retards have 3.0+ GPA
Then you know how the requirement is easy. You're not really contradicting the point that having an okay GPA is an okay barrier because if you can't manage THAT then you're not worth it.
>ArmyOCS
Yeah they care a lot more for fitness then grades. Easiest branch to commission as long as you can ace the fitness and look good enough in person for the interview. You don't meet the board in the Navy so they look at your grades and OAR primarily and maybe your letter of intent and your letters of rec if you don't meet ISEL. It's checking boxes on paper. Air/Space Force is actually competitive so good luck with a 2.6 there

This is south America, nobody does anything without direct supervision because a) everyone is lazy, b) everyone is underpaid and underfunded, and c) everyone would rather not risk being caught taking the initiative -wrong- and be left holding the bag for their superiors' incompetence so they just shut up and follow orders. In corrupt and poor failed states you experience a confluence of tall poppy syndrome because institutional careerism means promotions can instantly upgrade the life of someones' whole family, loyalty over competence in promotions(doubly so for ideologically driven regimes like commies or islamists), a rigid hierarchy and tight information control in goals, risks and capabilities out of paranoia over leaky structures and low morale, and ultimately retarded defense situations because their government talk shit and create conflicts they shouldn't.

Yes, and "something stable" is typically a big stone slab.

>>64750473
Yeah, that's the trick. A machinist's surface plate does the job just as well as a "balance table" yet it's much cheaper. I've fabricated many balance tables for my old job. I would weld the stand and the legs from 4" square steel tubing, which would be filled with sand afterward. The tabletop would be a 24"x36"x6" surface plate. It doesn't need to be a high grade one either, it just needs to be heavy.

>Truthpill me on 5.7. Is it good? Is it bad?
It works amazing on a 10.3" barrel like the P90 has. It's kind of mediocre on a 5" barrel like all the handguns have.
>What's the use case?
The 35 gr AP rounds that the military has is able to to reliably pen old soviet body armor (I have no idea how it performs against modern level III because back when all content creator was making armor pen videos FN would blacklist any creator who showe their ammo penetrating ammo; FN didn't the US to ban 5.7 ammo for being "a handgun round with AP capabilities). The 40 gr hollow points do a decent job of protecting civilians, all other variants (like the 27 gr) suck.
>Are the guns good? Is the ammo good?
They are well made.
>Is it really more lethal than 9mm?
Comparing 9mm hollow points to 5.7 hollow points I'd say 9mm is the winner (while 5.7 penetrates better, I still like the slight advantage 9mm has in expansion), but 5.7 fans would say, "It's just as good." Despite the minor difference, a case can be made that the 5.7 is good enough.
