Sure, but it's no different than the guy sitting next to him eating lunch. You have to poke your head out to use a rifle or a launcher, you have to leave the fob to get close enough to throw a grenade, probably using a large and loud vehicle to get there. A little drone going bzzzzzt is way harder to notice than artillery. (Ignoring ew.) So even if pilots have high casualty rates the perception of what they're doing conceptually it's going to seem safer at the surface. It's kind of like the meme of being a pussy for shooting someone instead of fist fighting.

They are paying 40k dollars conscription bonuses in areas where the annual income is like 2000 dollars.
Adjusted to a first world income of 50k that would be one million dollars.
Hm. I still wouldn't join a meatwave for that kind of money, I guess the fact they only get state TV does alot of work here.

Well and since all Russians have to go through conscriptions they have a steady stream of young men that can be forcefully volunteered.

WTF are they? I couldn't figure out what they possibly mount to or what they could be used for.

if you were to give me a riding horse i'd probably learn how to ride it. Hell, i'd just have to spend some time looking at a guy riding one to figure it out. I would be BAD at it, sure, but i would learn how to ride.
Same with a windmill. If i were somehow stuck in a windmill and needed it to run to survive i'd figure it out. Would it suck and would i make mistakes? Yes. But i would figure it out.
The point isn't knowing what the older generations did, is being able to figure it out.
Humans cant just pass on infinitely growing wisdom from one generation to the next, so its the current and new generation's responsibility to just be smart enough to figure it out.

>but is it cost effective?
The paradox is that keeping a dedicated CAS airframe in inventory isn't cost-effective.
While the A-10 is nominally cheaper to run on a per hour basis, it requires upgrade programs to keep it relevant and able to use the newest smart munitions, it has required airframe reinforcements like 30 years ago and remanufacturing of wings in the 2010s, and it comes with opportunity costs like requiring pilots and mechanics who could be assigned to other airframes thus indirectly increasing the operating costs of other aircraft.
>>
>>64746228
It would make more sense to design a new dedicated CAS platform from the ground up with all the lessons learned in the past 50 years, but the USAF isn't fond of doing things that make sense when some boomer still thinks russian armor columns are going to charge across the fulda gap.

No it was basically just a fuel efficient missile truck that was only usable in uncontested air space. The gun was functionally useless too
>>
>>64742705
It's been relegated to the role of peppering entire highways and runways with sustained fire. In in that unique role it's very well suited. It also forces the USAF to specifically HAVE to run CAS with an airframe, otherwise they'd dump more money into multiroles and use them for deeper interdiction leaving the grunts moist and wanting.

We all know what a typical chamber pressure plots look like, pic related.
We also know that the bullet energy is basically the area under the plot.

Now, why don't we make a combination powder with fast + slow powder so instead of a triangular shape the pressure curve looks more like a rectangle? This way we can maintain high chamber pressures all the way until the muzzle. We could achieve significant area under the curve increases with this, as much as +50% compared to traditional powders that have very little pressure left over by the time the bullet gets to the muzzle.

>>
>>64746617
Sure, that could work. Anything that delays the ignition of some of the powder until after the main pressure peak has subsided would do the job.

>>64744076
Clearly the powder would mix if there is any free space in the cartridge. However, with compressed loads the powder will stay in place.

PA (nylon) is an engineering plastic. And PETG is worse than worthless, it doesn't do anything that PLA+ can't do better except for marginally more heat resistance, but most applications that require heat resistance require more than the extra ~10C you can get from PETG.

I would mostly agree, but there are a few narrow cases where it's better than pla in flexing. For printed magazine springs, snap catches and the like it does last longer. It took a lot of experience to find a fraction of the supposed advantage in resilience it was claimed to have by the non gun printing community though.

Considering now tankers have become a valid target for boarding and maybe sinking.
Do you have under war laws to mark it if you put missiles on it or can you just hide it until the enemy is in range if they try something?

Hiding weapons on merchant shipping is a good way to get all your merchant shipping sunk without warning.
>but the west did
Yes, because the west was at war with countries that practiced unrestricted commerce raiding. The first time some shadow fleet tanker launches a 60 year old AShM at a USCG or USN vessel all shadow fleet vessels become "sink on sight, recover any survivors". Same thing happens the first time the Chinese do something stupid like that. In fact with all the "look at our tiny dick" posturing it wouldn't surprise me if the opening moves by the USN isn't deleting the Chinese merchant fleet.
>>
>>64746671
It wouldn't have much an effect on whether your ship is seized or not by a 1st world nation, but it would mean the guys with guns would be shooting instead of just capturing you.

It would also affect what ports you would be allowed to dock in, which defeats the whole point for the most part.

Its truly amazing trying to understand what these people think. It's like they plan to just wildly mag dump in an attackers general direction, then unironically think that an attacker is going to ignore the first 10 rounds headed their direction until deciding that the 11th was too much and giving up.

May as well use .22 lr at that point. More ammo capacity, less recoil.

I am about to import 80,500 of these indian hesbee 22 short single shot handguns. They are currently in transit being shipped from India.

They have sat in storage as they were built in 1959 as gunlaws became more restricted in India.

If you were in my shoes, how do I make this business venture successful.

I purchased each pistol at 2160 rupees (around 24$) and they cost me ($1500 for import and $5000 in shipping) so i am in for abit under $2mil.

Do you think people will actually buy these or should I put my house for sale ASAP?

NTA but someone managed to crack the forcing cone on my H&R revolver. Given it only says "22 rim fire", I'm assuming either someone used Stingers in it or it's meant for something like 22 long only and someone used supersonic 22LR. Can't say for sure, it was a previous owner's fuckup. Fits CB, short, long, LR, but not sure what it's rated for given the markings. I'd say long/LR subs max, like 900-1000FPS.

Lol I have seen Turkish shotguns sold like this, either in 3 or 5 at a time if you can convince a couple buddies to buy one with you.
>>
What sort of business plan did you present to get a $2 million loan? I own a business, never had business loan nor shopped one but I get emails/letters nonstop offering them and the requirements for even $50-250k loans are crazy, can't imagine what a multi-million loan entails.

Immaterial to that, I agree with the guy that said you should package deals. If you sold 5 for like $200-300, I'd definitely buy 10 of these. I'd be stashing them all around my house for the fuck of it. Taking a shit? Got a gun within reach. Tinkering in the garage? Got a gun within reach. Organizing the attic? Got a gun within reach.
>>
>>64743093
It'll make a difference on older guns, you're looking at pressures and velocities many of these chintzy old pieces were never made for, if some old cheap thing like this isn't EXPLICITLY labelled or marketed as being chambered for .22 Long Rifle, I would not push my luck with that.

Like the other anon's example, someone probably did shoot Stangers or Minimags or something in that H&R, and it didn't explode, but it busted up the forcing cone, and premature wear and parts breakage is what I'd expect. Hell, even on many old .22LR guns, they aren't all necessarily up for tolerating the modern high velocity stuff either.

>>64746512
Raffles, kits, and package deals, are probably his only salvation with this situation.
These are not valuable or historically notable, but they can have a limited utility value in their very base function, and for being very cheap.

I would suggest using the really low price point as an advantage, $50 is too high of a price for these, but you'd probably be able to move these at a somewhat steady pace at like $35/gun, and with Buy 2, Get 1 Free deals.

What tools for self defense would you recommend for someone in Europe to have when shit goes down. There are black powder revolvers shotguns and rifles, but you can't buy them everywhere in Europe. There are crossbows and bows but what is really their capacity to defend, and of course air rifles, in some countries they are unrestricted in some countries they are cucked and they are a hassle to have around in the case of an emergency. Better yet what should everybody own, not just weapons, in case they want to survive more than 72 hours.

If you don't care about the law or expect society to collapse in one way or another, see if you can get a blank gun and these gas blanks used for "animal defense". Pair it with a Gasmask and you can effectively turn a few rooms into lethal gas chambers, though I'd advice you not to do it at home
>that's retarded, there's better options, etc
yes to all but its fairly easy and cheap in my country and its always nice to have more options, you never know when you might need to gas a few people

>Better yet what should everybody own, not just weapons, in case they want to survive more than 72 hours.
Food, some MREs are good for that especially if you plan on running away, Water and purification (2 methods at least, Boiling isn't enough), a map of your local and not so local area incase you need to walk to the nearest city/evac point but aren't too sure on how to get there or don't want to take the roads, a knife (not necessarily for fighting, it can be a good tool for many things), adequate clothing (keep rainclothes and winter clothing IF you need them)
Gas mask if you're worried about that stuff
Keep your ID with you! It's more than likely that you'll meet some government troops and it helps if you can show them that you are you.
