The only time I've ever been attacked by a dog was a pit bull, someone opened the gate and it got out and bit me in the thigh, at first I didn't even realize it wounded me, it bit me really fast then walked away like nothing happened, but then my leg started going numb and I realized it actually did a lot of damage, my pants and underwear were stuck to me and I couldn't take them off from the blood being dried and the cloth stuck in the wound, it ended up turning all kinds of purple and yellow and black and blueI really fucking hate shitbulls

Realistically, what firearm would you need to take down a rampaging Na'vi from the Avatar films? Nine feet of solid muscle and bone (reinforced with natural carbon fibre), extremely fast-moving and agile, fighting on their own turf with very short engagement distances? Two questions, what would be the first steps to take to join the US military as a Brit? Ours is appallingly bad in morale, funding, structure and reputation. Secondly, this might sound retarded but can you choose to join the cavalry? Air cav "We Were Soldiers" stuff, fly in rather then ride in.

Can you guys please help understand what the post-service employment landscape is like for officers who join at an older age? I posted here a while back asking if it would be a mistake to join the army as an officer at 33 as I’m working at a university and struggling to advance. I see veterans with otherwise similar backgrounds to me getting accelerated career tracks because they are veterans but they all served right after college or right before. I’m really having a hard time figuring out if I can still get the same boost at this point or if that ship has sailed for me. FWIW I’m working in research, no PhD, a lot of this stuff is DoD funded. All of the department heads and supervisors are vets. All of the super high wage high skill employees under them are vets. All the people on the path to high level university leadership from here are vets.
The ziggers have come up with another brilliant plan to counter drones, walking tents! Guessing mostly for night ops to reduce thermal signature? Because these are definitely not good for day time at least. Though it'd be hilarious to see them try assaulting with these fucking things on. >The Americans can no longer be trusted>Russia is threatening>China is threatening>The Americans are threateningWhy don’t all countries just acquire nuclear weapons? If sufficient numbers of countries take this step then all threats of sanctions from non-compliance lose their significance. Israel already set the precedent by showing how nuclear weapons inspections and the sanctions tied to them have no meaning.First one should build a large stockpile of nerve agents and genetically modified biological weapons so that deterrence remains in effect while the bombs are being built. Olympic pools of VX being pumped to cheap drones with spray tanks would be enough since the poison will remain in the terrain as microscopic droplets for months thus neutralizing enemy population centers even if the vast majority of launches are intercepted.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGE_oMVJ50I

Need to know if I've been pooping myself with this, been using it for years
The average diesel engine runs .001" tolerances. The average firearms run .001" up to .003" tolerances. I run 15w-40 Mobil Delvac full synthetic on my firearms. I run two versions. For general areas of the firearm with no mechanical movement, just the oil. Where there's more friction, I use that synthetic oil with a bit of Mobil red grease. I reduce the grease amount from 1 part to 15 down to 1 part per 20 by volume when temps drop. Think of your firearm as a reciprocating engine. But with an open design that can attract dirt and moisture. So you need to keep it lubricated for proper functionality. Don't leave too much oil in places with extreme pressure. Because oil doesn't compress and will cause damage. Gun oil is an extremely over hyped market. Clean your guns, lubricate liberally with conditions in mind.
>>64754545Clean your chamber
>>64754610I bought one and it helps but if I had to do it again I'd just stick with soaking in CLR and brushing every so often. Obviously check compatibility with your materials first.
For me it’s G96 for everything. Cleaning, oiling, lubricating. Then they sit in a climate controlled safe. If I was leaving them in a cabin or in a basement or anyplace with lots of fluctuations in temperature in humidity id probably line the barrel with some ATF and use some sort of rust proofing goop on the steel parts.
>>64754416rem oil is perfectly fine, except for the fact it evaporates easilyif you keep a regimen of oiling, its actually a very good oil thoughone thing to keep in mind, it has teflon in it, great for guns - terrible for you i wouldn't worry about it though, just don't drink it or whatever>>64754479>Clenzoilsame, its legitimately just a great one, especially if you're in a humid state i just wish it didn't cost so much, but its not like i shoot 24/7 either
Truthpill me on 5.7. Is it good? Is it bad? What's the use case? Are the guns good? Is the ammo good? Is it really more lethal than 9mm? I don't care about the price.
>>64755213>with the right loading, but the same goes for .40 and .45The same goes for any cartridge, Mr. Cornercase provider.
>>64755228The right loading doesnt exist for .22lr
>>64755230Yet another cornercase. Just stop.
>>64755224.40 doesn't provide any better post-barrier penetration than modern 9mm loadings like Federal HST or Hornady Critical Duty, and still has higher recoil, and lower capacity. 10mm often performs the same as .40, or worse, since higher velocities tend to cause the projectiles to perform poorly, limiting expansion. It's not about shooting through 2 car doors. It's about being able to defeat common materials you may be around in day to day life (such as car windshields), and still reliably penetrate to the required depth range without over-penetrating and risking hitting unintended targets. There is a ton of data out there about this subject, which has been backed up by decades of real world results. 5.7 often struggles even after penetrating clothing you ape. It's better than .22 magnum since it's not a rimfire round, but it sure as fuck isn't better than modern 9mm, .40, or .45.
>>64755228Except it doesn't. Thank God the gun world has access to the information regarding what it takes for a handgun round to be ideal for defensive purposes, and doesn't have to rely on gun counter fuddlore spouted by mongoloids like you anymore.

KAC also charges over a grand for a re barrel which I have to do around every 10-15k rounds because the barrel is unlined. The URX 2 and M110 profile barrel make the gun retardly heavy as well. When the Geran/Shahed drones first appeared, I figured Russia would use them smartly in a classic SEAD/DEAD role: send waves of them to force Ukrainian IADS to light up radars and reveal positions, then follow up with VKS aircraft, with anti-radiation missiles to systematically dismantle those defenses. Russia instead has chosen the most brain-dead and wasteful approach, by treating the Geran/Shaheds s as nothing more than slow, low-cost cruise missiles hurled directly at static infrastructure targets, while leaving the overwhelming majority of Ukraine's air defenses intact and free to keep operating. They're banking entirely on brute-force volume and saturation to get a few through, completely abandoning any effort at SEAD/DEAD. But the thing is that they're not even achieving any kind of saturation effect since, the launches are scattered haphazardly across random cities, regions, and targets all over Ukraine that changes every night (some they they go after energy infrastructure, some other go after some depots, some others they try to hit some cities...), instead of making up their minds and concentrate them single high-value area, frontline sector, or even one major city at a time, and keep hitting them until achieving disruption or collapse. This is also precisely why so few targets are actually hit despite hundreds being launched every night, and so many of them are intercepted.By contrast, even in the recent U.S. operation in Venezuela, the LUCAS drones (the American Shahed clones) were properly integrated into a coordinated SEAD/DEAD package.
Russian SEAD doctrine is at most jsut htem putting one or two anti-radiation missiles on a strike plattform so it can launch them when engaged by a SAM. That's btw literally what the US was doing once upon a time. Before they realised that it's completely inadequate. During the freakin' Vietnam War.Yes, Russias SEAD doctrine is literally pre-Vietnam tier.
>>64751324That's not their achievement, that's the achievement of a weeks worth of intensive ice rain and unusually low temperatures.
>>64754476>"ignore the donkeys and horses, they're just figments of your imagination"
