Is that a fucking pistol real sight in the red dot cut out? Is PSA inventing a shotgun that can't be used as a shotgun because it has pistol sights for some reason?
the receiver is objectively the worst place to mount a red dot on a shotgun. the best option would be if you could get it low profile on the barrel or as a qd on a side rail like an AK, though the barrel, especially if you can get the bottom of the red dot below the receiver would be great because then you could have a red dot mounted for HD or turkey or if you're in one of the like 3 states that still require slug guns for durr and then you can take off the barrel, the red dot remains zeroed and you can put on a different barrel for birds or clays
I really don't understand this psa 570 thing. it looks like they just designed a gun to compete with turkshit and the mav 88 to be a ghetto blaster for blowing up trash on blm land

yeah I agree. the only advantage is I think the PSA is made in the US whereas the mav is made in mexico. but if you care about it being made in the USA you can just buy a regular mossberg. Mavs are probably fine anyway. most of the budget shit on a mav88 is budget shit mossberg was doing on the 500 until they bought maverick arms, at which point they slightly upgraded the 500
>>
>>64751402
didn't know any of that thanks
>>
>>64751394
They already said the PSA will be convertible between pump and semi auto. That alone gives it a purpose to exist. And if the semi auto version is less than fucking 1100 dollars, it'll be a pretty good deal.
>>
>>64751174
It would have to be lower than the 500 or 590 in price if they want anyone to buy them

>The Americans can no longer be trusted
>Russia is threatening
>China is threatening
>The Americans are threatening

Why don’t all countries just acquire nuclear weapons? If sufficient numbers of countries take this step then all threats of sanctions from non-compliance lose their significance. Israel already set the precedent by showing how nuclear weapons inspections and the sanctions tied to them have no meaning.

First one should build a large stockpile of nerve agents and genetically modified biological weapons so that deterrence remains in effect while the bombs are being built. Olympic pools of VX being pumped to cheap drones with spray tanks would be enough since the poison will remain in the terrain as microscopic droplets for months thus neutralizing enemy population centers even if the vast majority of launches are intercepted.

They were suggested to take naval vessels quickly and to get into rough terrain quicker than foot troops. Indians and Chinese could do with them to go up mountains and stuff. As far as I am aware the only place that actually uses these are mountain rescue medics in Bongland.

Jetpacks have existed since the late '50s. Until the invention of modern microjet flying systems, fewer men had been able to fly the old style jetpack than had walked on the Moon, 9 vs. 12, according to Dan the Rocketman. Even the modern ones are very dangerous, hence why most demos show them over water.
The right type of flying individual platform, IMHO, is the Wasp or other stop-onto jet. The French design was used a few years ago by cartel miners in South America.
>>64749199
There's a million uses if you can get over skill/danger of using jumpjets and man flyers.

Has anybody else even noticed the Fletner effect causing the slugs to drift in the opposite direction of slug rotation beginning at about 750 yards?
If I understand correctly past a certain distance with high powered rifles the slug's axis of rotation is locked at the high angle necessary to lob it that far. It's trajectory is roughly a parabola and as it descends from it's high point the relative airflow means it is traveling "belly-on" to the wind. Say it's right hand twist rifling = the right hand side of the slug is causing air to pile up there - and the rotation is causing the left hand side to "pull in" a similar amount of air.
So like a baseball spun up to be a curve ball - the bullet's path curves, too. When I shoot 1000 yards it is obvious that all the projectiles hit the target in a nose-up attitude. At 1100 yards some of them "have laid over on their side" veered off center. At 1200 yds they are all pointing at random directions and accuracy has gone all to fuck. I don't have a left hand twist rifle to check it against. Also it stands to reason that if you fitted the gun with a custom left hand twist barrel - it would unscrew from the breech eventually. I ain't buying another different rifle to test this - just hoping million to one somebody has a left hand rifled rifle and they noticed this going the opposite way.

need help from anons
looking for a 2-10x or something similar for a first rifle in .223 shooting paper (no outdoor ranges beyond 300m)
having a hard time finding options that aren't a LPVO with 1x. Budget is <500. Any ideas?
>>
>>64751467
3-9x are a dime a dozen and would be great for .223. SWFA has some ultralights in the 2.5-10x range and they're good beginner scopes. alternatively you can look for a fixed power, although not many manufacturers make one anymore. I think leupold and swarovski still make a 6x

Not for long around Crayon-eaters. As soon as you mortar it, buttstroke someone, run it over with a vehicle, drop it from a helicopter, etc. the folding stock hinge on the upper will probably break

Probably not. Somewhere behind my SS MK18 Mod 0 and Benelli M4 and before a handgun but variety is the spice of life

>You forget we are lowly civilians who can not own grenades. That other anon is right. The niche use case for SMGs is close up, against unarmored targets (sectional energy irrelevant), and where compact size and full auto are desired.
What subset of people can't own grenades and can own a full auto kriss vector?
>>
>>64751461
The same system that allowed the two-round burst to function made the full-auto unreliable. Russian Spetsnaz preferred the AEK, so the AEK's features were made into the A-545/6P67 KORD rifle.
>>
>>64751750
Heavier than all the polymer rifles, it's also more expensive to produce than the G36, so they'd have to charge more per rifle, and governments are cheap.
>>
>>64752132
Good point. but to answer your question, I guess those unconcerned with the law and with a strong urge to acquire their weapon of choice. It’s easier to come into possession of a full auto whatever than a grenade.

Maybe. I know the GOST-5A / 6A and then BR4 / BR5 Granits are Alumina. The solution to tackling substantial tungsten penetrators like 7N37 just being a thicker alumina strike face is just, IMHO, inefficient. They're leaving serious performance on the table by not using a better ceramic. The concern with the BR5+ Granit is that it's very heavy, well, that's a way to fix that.
There is the possibility the Alumina is something like ZTA - zirconia-toughened - but that isn't in common use because it jacks up price and doesn't get you anything truly noteworthy over mainstream SiC.
As for the backers, I remember a few papers about Russian advanced aramids. Odd to me they wouldn't at least be licensed here if they're competitive with good Dyneema or Spectra. High end PE is stronger pound for pound as a backer, but aramid backed plates exhibit very good v0s on account of how aramid fibers function.

As it stands, the Chinese could probably reproduce the Alumina+PE BR5+ plates if they aren't using anything exotic. Throws a real wrench at the M7's XM1184.

>Taking large urban centers and holding things like capitals is where victory is derived
Not at all, this is the extremely rare outcome. The majority of the time the forces are victorious and result in a withdrawal of troops from tenable held positions.
French indo china war, algeria, rhodesia, tigray liberation front, eriterean peoples liberation front, taliban (2020), FARC, IRA, etc etc.

All of these forces committed to a long violent rural struggle resulting in eventual withdrawal of their opponents and/or political settlements that effectively transferred them into power regardless. Historically gorillas have used these rural areas to build ranks, train forces, transit supplies and maintain a general presence in a larger area of footprint. It always will be important if not from a strategic or human capital standpoint but rather from an operational standpoint.

As I've said a few threads back, Russian MIC is often purposefully opaque to a counterproductive extent. Some of it is soviet "iron curtain" mindset, some is covering for incompetence and graft, but mostly it's just lack of "gun culture" - engineers see themselves apart from the wider population, who are unworthy of discussion about special and cool things they aren't supposed to be allowed to have anyway (but somehow are). And then there's the leadership that answers to military brass, not stakeholders or wider market, and acts more like govt. functionaries than the management of a commercial entity. This is all a generational problem that solves itself as these people age out, but still, it's so frustrating sometimes.
tl;dr boomers are why we can't have nice things

There are certain things you can half ass. If something breaks or fails to work, replace it with the real deal.
>As I've said a few threads back, Russian MIC is often purposefully opaque to a counterproductive extent.
American one is the same way. For example, what's the real purpose of the M7?
1. Providing overmatch in the last war?
2. Making SIG money?
3. Defeating all enemy body armor?
3A. Defeating some enemy body armor more reliably than M855A1 / M995 can?
4. Providing superior counter barrier defeat and resolving 5.56's poor terminal ballistics which were resolved over a decade ago?
5. Increasing engagement ranges?
6. All of the above?
7. Some of the above?
8. Boomers wanting to return to battle rifles before they croak?

>>
Probably a dumb question,
What's the difference between ARC-fire and Super Safety?
>>
>>64752671
Super safety is a push button cross bolt safety, you push it in to change the positions. The super safety is an open source design made and sold by a lot of people.

ARC is a traditional AR style lever that people are normally are comfortable with. This is made by ASDesigns.
>>
>>64752696
Thanks for the prompt reply.
I was looking at this for an MP5.
Other than personal preference, is there a mechanical benefit with the ARC to justify the additional cost?
>>
>>64752738
just additional cost, both are very reliable.

For ar-15s, some people for the super safety have to trim their uppers. This is not needed at all for the ARC.

Anons I'm 27 years old, civilian, been working out hard for the past 4,5 years with decent results, not fat, masters degree, fluent in two languages, I love guns, I own a couple and have been shooting them regularly for years. I even worked full time as an instructor at a commercial range, and thats when I realized I want to work with guns for the rest of my life. I have had a couple of corporate desk jobs, but I don't think that's my calling. I have a strong military history in my family, my great grandfathers have fought in literally every theatre of WWII, my house is decorated with their medals. Despite that I have never even considered a military creer. That is untill past year or a year and a half or so as shit around the world continued to escalate, I realized that I eventually will serve anyway, so might as well serve now on my terms. Is going to a military school beforehand a good idea? I also would like to attempt joining special forces instead of regular military, do you think its possible? How out of touch am I?

You should think about enlisting 4 years to see how you like it first.
18X and 11X are good but only if you are in peak physical shape before coming in.
Otherwise if you are dead set on serving, consider Officer roles because you have a masters and that sets you a cut above the other Officer candidates.
Speak with a recruiter, they will most likely try to funnel you through the Officer route though.

By using quantum sensing instead of traditional lenses and a CMOS camera, and then running reconstruction algorithms over time on the input, it's possible to get 20x the range, 1000x the processing speed, and sub-diffraction images.

I am about to import 80,500 of these indian hesbee 22 short single shot handguns. They are currently in transit being shipped from India.

They have sat in storage as they were built in 1959 as gunlaws became more restricted in India.

If you were in my shoes, how do I make this business venture successful.

I purchased each pistol at 2160 rupees (around 24$) and they cost me ($1500 for import and $5000 in shipping) so i am in for abit under $2mil.

Do you think people will actually buy these or should I put my house for sale ASAP?
