Is it normal for a bit of lead to shave off when pressing the bullets in?Also I accidentally seated one bullet about 3mm too deep but these are mostly empty powderpuff 44 loads so that’s not dangerous, right?
>>64747190>shaved leadWiden the case mouths just a little more next time, maybe a quarter or half turn.>3mm on a powderpuff loadYou'll be fine.
>>64747197FPBP
>>64747190Yes but not how your bullets look. Something is slightly off with your loading process. Not enough to be dangerous to fire but not right. Did you resize the cases?
>>64747215I resized them with the Lee 44 Sp die The resizing was the least confusing step desuThe part that gets me is I used HP-38 at the target load level and like more than half the case is empty>>64747197Yeah I think I didn’t flare them enoughThis was my first try at reloading ever and the bullets sat in so I thought good enoughI’ll do more next timeAlso thanks Chad
>>64747258With faster burning powders like HP-38 in a pistol case, a very small portion of the case will be filled. A load of Bullseye makes a .44 Magnum case look absolutely cavernous.
So I was digging through some old gun parts boxes looking for something and I found these spikeybois.WTF are they? I couldn't figure out what they possibly mount to or what they could be used for.

>>64745417if you were to give me a riding horse i'd probably learn how to ride it. Hell, i'd just have to spend some time looking at a guy riding one to figure it out. I would be BAD at it, sure, but i would learn how to ride.Same with a windmill. If i were somehow stuck in a windmill and needed it to run to survive i'd figure it out. Would it suck and would i make mistakes? Yes. But i would figure it out.The point isn't knowing what the older generations did, is being able to figure it out.Humans cant just pass on infinitely growing wisdom from one generation to the next, so its the current and new generation's responsibility to just be smart enough to figure it out.
>>64745354Literary rates in the US are split in to 3 levels, with Level 3 being the highest; anything below is considered “partially illiterate.” From 2017, we had 48% of the adult population reading at Level 3, 33% at Level 2, and 19% for Level 1. There was a 2% increase in Level 1 and a 2% decrease in Level 3 from 2012. For 2021, the rates are now at 28%, 29%, and 44% for Levels 1, 2, and 3 respectively. Numeracy rates have remained relatively the same, but people are becoming more illiterate for this past decade alone. Not to say that means people are becoming dumber, but being literate is a huge hurdle for the modern world and being able to make effective decisions in an information and text rich world. One could argue that you probably want to be able to read the name of the person you’re voting for on a ballot, but if you see announcements for portraits being put on ballots then you know why.

>>64746443Oh. Well, that sucks. I always assumed they'd include it because of the program timeline.
>>64746704The program timeline is exactly why they CAN'T do variable cycle. It's taken the US the better part of 25 years to do with 10's of billions spent. It would likely take RR at least another decade, maybe longer, and likely cost $15-20B. They can do the XFP30 for ~$5-10B and actually meet the 2035 deadline (and be installed in a flying prototype by ~2030-32) If the UK/Italy/Japan could afford to wait another 5-10 years before they wanted it to enter service than adaptive cycle would be a no-brainer, but as it is today, going with a non-variable cycle high-thrust engine is the sane approach to meet their deadlines and provide the performance needed. There is already industry speculation on a block 2 GCAP fighter in the mid to late 2040s with a variable cycle engine.
>>64733167When I read your post, champagne flows from my keyboard. Listen, frog, you might sell a pan europe SVTOL or VTOL, but never a carrier plane.
>>64733086It doesn’t matter what the UK or Italy want because Japan is the leader of GCAP, bringing both the engine, RAM and advanced composites to the table while Italy and the UK are just along the ride to mass produce Japanese tech. So far we know Japan doesn’t want anyone on the team because they want GCAP to be ready by 2035, otherwise it would’ve already happened.

I was out shooting mine today, I quite like it all things considered, should probably Canjunize it. Sp101 or gp100 for my first wheel gun? I'd like to be able to just pocket carry which is why was leaning toward the sp101 but the big fuck off look of a gp 100 is pretty tempting.
>>64747234The SP is just a little too big for pocket carry for most, I'd prioritize a LCR or 442 in that case. For high round counts at the range and OWB in the field, you can't beat the GP
