Guy at work who’s trying to discourage my next gun purchase said “I wouldn’t trust my life to a 1911”. I was honestly at a loss for words. How do you feel about 1911 vs other handguns for cc?

The drop in velocity in a G29 vs G20 is not as much as you think
>My chronograph tells me that the velocity difference isn’t that much, less is lost with heavier bullets. Handloaded 165 grain Gold Dots that average 1420 from a Glock 20 run at about 1360 out of a 29. 180 Grain XTPs that average 1350 from a 20 are running about 1305 from a 29
You're better off arguing it's harder to control due to muzzle flip

I'd rather train and carry a G29 for self defense over any other gun, especially in a state that limits us to 10 rounds of either caliber.
>>
>>64341508
>180 Grain XTPs that average 1350
Do you have urban grizzlies or what? If you're basing your decisions on Bubbas most retarded "just use the case to scoop the power pistol and level it with the bullet" nuclear handloads there's also nothing stopping your carrying .45 Super loaded to Rowland specs or 356TSW with a 'lil extra.

when you pull the trigger it cocks the gun and releases. are you deaf?
>>
>>64341681
it doesn't cock the fucking gun you stupid nigger. you have to rack the slide to do that. if it was da you could fire over and over without racking the slide but it doesnt because you're a dumb nigger that doesn't know what they're talking about. get a light strike in a P226 and you can fire over and over till it hits. fire a glock once and the trigger doesnt fucking do anything you braindead retard

Apparently its a coolguy meme in their media for a protagonist to walk moodily next to track tracks with a train passing by, but the retards filming themselves doing it stand too near the tracks so they get clipped by the train.

Apparently a popular Bollywood movie has a "cool" scene taking place on a train track. Indians being mentally 12 years old try to replicate it ever since.

>forget that a train is going to be significantly wider than the rails

>Because rushing headlong into a potentially dangerous situation is fucking stupid?
There was whole generation where "violence of action" was considered the ideal.
It's not stupid, the doctrine has changed.
For good reasons?
Possibly but more likely the tempo-based assault is more practical for trenches where the enemy hasn't booby-trapped their living quarters and hasn't had time to create funnels.
It might be less practical when jihadis can leak or create false intel and have coalition troops rush B and walk into trip wires and barricaded firing positions.

>>
>>64337191
A lot of this seems too artificial. Like a landing chopper should have alert everyone in the building, the guy outside being shot should have alerted the guy inside on the chair, but he doesn't even get up, while the next guy at 24 seconds had a window where he could have seen the chopper and shot them as they approached; or at the very least been aiming at the door as it opened. The next guy doesn't attempt to use the sofas in the lounge as cover or the doorframe to the hall, he just stands in the hallway waiting to get shot. I assume they're training for something specific that justifies the enemy force acting so lobotomized, but idk what it would be.

I cant wait for this little bastard to get released. It has a full hydraulic buffer just like the apc 223, along with 3 position gas piston. Telescoping stock. Very reliable and low recoil. Avg apc 223 goes for 4500$. The spc 223 will be around 2500$ new, which will completely crush any AR in that price range. You do the math.

It's old tech and the US military doesn't use it anymore because they said it was inadequate. Get something better.

So is every 5.56 AR on the planet. This will blow your tiny little noguns yuro mind but .223 Wylde chambers are and have been a thing for almost 20 years.

I remember when those were 20 dollars. Great beater blade, was easy to replace the handle and 1055 steel was tough enough to do weird shit. It needed alot of work to reprofile the grind though.

My next Cold Steel purchase is going to be the Recon 1 in Magnacut and possibly the 3V Gurkha Kukri Plus if I find a good price

>modernizing the revolver means lightweight materials, optics cuts, better triggers, and interchangeable cylinders/calibers!
Is he retarded? This is absolutely incorrect and this guy is never going to be satisfied because his demands are foolish. What we actually NEED in the revolver market is an autoloading revolver like the Mateba. What we actually NEED in the revolver market is a gas seal revolver like the Nagant (did you forget how popular suppressors are getting?).

He was right on putting autopistol chamberings in revolvers: something like 9mm or 45 makes your cylinder (and thus the whole gun) a fair bit shoter.

But hell, why not just combine the Mateba and the Nagant? A gas seal autoloading revolver? That's the only thing that might could pass for a "modern" revolver.

Why do you always feel the need to mention "well that's not how we do things"? Do you think we listen to you like you are still our masters? Is it from a place of false superiority? Just curious why Europeans in particular suffer from this mentality.
>>
>>64338633
Some form of gas seal would be a welcome addition to any revolver since that energy is simply wasted in the cylinder gap.
>>
>>64338633
The revolver is dead. I tried for years to make it work for carry but it just doesn't cut it over a semiauto. It became my gun for rafting or beach visits where I just don't want to fuck up and rust my better carry guns.

Its only practical purpose over a semi is it doesn't shit casings all over the place ya dig?
>>
>>64341179
>the answer isn't requiring small, fiddly, proprietary piece of equipment
>it's making that piece of equipment better
No, the answer is getting rid of moonclips. Build an ejector that rotates 30 degrees and puts a tongue under the case head as it does to strip the empties out. It's head spaced off the mouth so putting a slight counterbore at the back of the cylinder to give it space to seat would work just fine.

Why hasn't Russia used chemical/biological/radiological weapons in Ukraine?

They're complete animals and have no problem killing and torturing civilians and POWs so it's clearly not a moral issue.

Putin is retarded enough to start the conflict so he's retarded enough to do whatever.

Their situation is bad and unsustainable so they'd probably be looking for any advantage.

They can veto UNSC measures to do something about it and the General Assembly's condemnations mean nothing.

The Chinksects will probably just complain to save face but still trade with Russia, the Frogs, Bongs and Krauts won't commit any forces because they fear "EsCaLaTiOn", Orange Man is cucked enough to do fuckall about it and Thirdies are pro-Russia enough to not care.

The Kremlin already considers Russian lives worthless so they won't give a shit about how it affects them unless it becomes an oligarch's problem or something.

I legit just don't see why Russia hasn't dropped sarin or mustard gas or caesium-137 on Ukrainian civilians yet.
